ESPN concocted what they describe the first-ever ranking of the Losingest Sports Cities in North America. That's all-time, for all four of the Big Four sports. They looked at every city in the U.S. and Canada that has an NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB team today -- then went back in history to account for every franchise that stayed for the long haul, just passed through or died a sad death.
Next, They added up the wins, losses and ties (presented in that order), and calculated that locale's overall losing percentage (NFL stats are from 1920; AFL are from 1966; NHL are from 1926/27; NBA are from 1946/47; MLB from 1900).
