TERRIBLE place to put your child...they obviously haven't changed how they do business. They sat my one year old in one of those tables with the holes with chairs in them and left him there for over an hour while the other kids were still sleeping. The owner is out for ONLY money and didn't seem to think there was an issue with leaving a child squirming in a chair with no one attending to his needs. He was there a couple of days and they wouldn't refund my deposit or tuition. GREEDY!

The corporation itself is terrible! And the director Sam is is even worse! They don't care about your child but only want your money. They allow your child to go hungry if they don't like the lunch served, your child will come home filthy. When picking up my child early I have found her completely filthy, (diapers not changed, noses not wiped, face and hands black) they clean them up before you get there. My child never had a diaper rash before attending Magellan, she has had some terrible ones that began after being dropped off. The children are seen doing nothing most of the day, just walking aimlessly around the class (there are video cameras you can watch from any computer). The classrooms are bare and there is no nice artwork coming home. Do not go there!

Don't waste your time looking into this place. The owner is the crudest, most unprofessional individual that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. We had to involve my credit card company because they were making unauthorized charges to our account. We also filed a grievance with the BBB (look up their record with the BBB). They were often out of ratio. One day when I stopped by on an unannounced visit, I found my 2 1/2 year old daughter wandering down the hallway unattended. The teacher had sent her down the hall by herself to find a bathroom since there wasn't one in the classroom. Don't even bother to bring anything to the attention of the owner or the director. They don't care about you or your children - they just want to rip you off. The owner also apparently went to the cites of other schools and posted negative reviews under different user names and would post glowing comments about his school. Hence, citysearch took down all of the previous reviews for Magellan. Do a little research on this school outside of a visit and then enroll them elsewhere.

Yesterday, the 17th, my nieces were dropped off about 1:25 pm or sooner when on early release day school does not get out until 1:30. My nieces were missing for several scarey moments. since the Oceanway Middle school principal did not want to acknowledge there is a problem with dropoff times and the school board, threadcraft, also doesn't want to acknowledge there is a safety problem, I have to write this. I ask something be done to protect our children from an avoidable situation or accident. The principal responded with the 10 minute leeway paper that was sent out. My brother-in-law was at the bus stop at 1:30. They were nowhere in sight and he waited until when he thought the bus was to arrive. The girls had already walked home alone. I talked with Amy Lengrum at the school board and she said they would look into it. i told her about predators in the neighborhood and she said their everywhere. (sarcasm not necessary) When the mother of my neices spoke with Threadcraft, she said she can see both sides of the issue. The principal hanging up on the girls mother, Threadcraft's statement and Amy not wanting to remedy a potentially dangerous and deadly problem continues to cause me to lose FAITH in these people paid to protect our children. I hope they don't wait to do something after a child is hurt. Remedy- Send parents home a letter with a phone a courtesy call about the possibility of school releasing 5 minutes early. And the 10 minute window is longer than 10 minutes. If school released at 1:25, with a 10 minute ride time, my nieces would not have got there until at least 1:35. Even a 7 minute ride would put the kids there after 1:30. There were 2 parents waiting at the stop at 1:30 and the kids were already home. (What is wrong with this picture?)

I have no idea why the bad review. Maybe that is a Tutor Time employee trying to make T's look bad? All of the staff speaks english. Our daughter has been going there since she was 4 months old and they encourage her development. They read and sing to her. Excellent place for daycare.

I have never been more unhappy with a daycare than with children's lighthouse. It is not a school, but a babysitting service. The long post below must be the owner because no one would put all this information in there, especially knowing this much about the business. They tell you their ratios for my 16 month old, they call them toddlers, is one to four, but this is not true becasue not all of them are there at one given time. When all toddlers are there, it is a one to six ratio. The food is not good, but cold and it is on the floor all day long in their classroom. The owner is not honest. When I questioned them about the biting of my son, they seemed concerned for just that moment, but they do nothing about it. This is place is money hungry and concerned only about the bottom line. Stay away from here. Teacher turnover is high. The owner treats her dogs better than the children at this place. Go somewhere else. Learning is a joke here and not what the owner states in her long post below.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For further information, contact: Alpha School of Massage, Inc. 4642 San Juan Ave. Jacksonville, Fl. 32210 (904) 389-9117 mm6527 www.alphaschoolofmassagecom To: Everyone that wants an opportunity to become a massage therapist! Don’t let the economy and/or low grades keep you from learning a wonderful career. Massage Therapy is one of the fastest growing professions in the country. Massage Therapy is regulated by the Florida Department of Health and is considered a Healthcare profession in this state. The oldest and most respected Massage Therapy School in Jacksonville is again waiving the usual $9,000.00 tuition for their 900 hour advanced massage therapy program. That’s right, absolutely no tuition for an entire year of training! There is an initial (one-time) enrollment fee of $200 and a small monthly fee of $99. That’s it, no other fees are charged by the school. Neither a student loan or financial aide is required. Students graduate ready to take the state licensing exam without having the usual college debt. Everything is paid for by the end of graduation. Current and past students frequently ask “Why would anybody borrow $12,000.00 to $24.000.00 for tuition to learn massage therapy when you can learn from the best for next to nothing?” Florida leads the country in massage education and can boast of having some of the finest massage instructors anywhere. Nowhere is this more evident than at Alpha School of Massage, which has 2 instructors that have been teaching there since 1995. While some schools are closing their massage therapy programs, Alpha School of Massage is expanding their massage program. Unlike many of the other massage programs which are taught at schools that offer several other programs (such as ultrasound; nursing assistants; medical assistants; radiology; etc.) massage is the only program taught at Alpha. This enables their staff to focus and expand their knowledge and expertise completely on massage and massage related topics. There aren’t any tricks or gimmicks to this offer. Channel 4 news aired a story about this wonderful “no tuition” opportunity in July, 2007. We have also been featured in a few other local television stories, as well as having a full page story in Folio Weekly. This is a fantastic opportunity for your students that don’t want a traditional 2 or 4 year college degree, or can’t afford one. I am not aware of any other vocational or technical school that offers this low cost opportunity. Please let your students know about this opportunity.

Once you find it, this place rocks!!! Good selection of girls. Prices for dances were a bit high for a recession, but the contact is definitely worth it. I'll definitely be back!!! Only thing that could be improved would be a more private area for dances
