Beautiful store BAD attitude of the lady behind the counter with short brown hair and glasses. If items are chipped, busted, damaged etc., simply mark the tickets AS IS...if not, customers have the right, esp in this economy, to ask, if anything else can be taken off the asking price. I love to search for treasures, antiques, and collectibles, been doing it for years. I will never shop here again, due to poor attitudes behind the counter. Hopefully, she was not the owner...sad if she was...when we ask if anything can be taken off the asking price, simply say no, I am sorry...do not emphasize the asking price ONLY said amount...if it is damaged, and the ticket does not reflect it...customers will ask...who knows? It may have been damaged by customers, and originally ticketed with no damages, or chips. Try smiling, and being polite, in lieu of condescending. We will never be back. Sad, too, because we were bringing a group of 25 to shop around Jacksonville for treasures and what nots...this store will be skipped due to attitude.

This shop is great and Candace (the owner) is very helpful. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. I frequent the shop about once a month and agree that the prices are great and the vendors do a great job blending old and new, many different styles - something for everyone. You can easily spend an hour or more looking at the treasures. Great way to spend an afternoon with your girlfriends ... and some great places to eat in the area.

I live in the area and LOVE going to Southern Crossing about once a month. Every time I go in there it's something different. I have picked up some great stuff including a great antique entryway table for $40!!! Also have many things from lamps, armoire to holiday ornaments that are perfect for gifts and decorating projects.

I have never had a bad experience with the shop or their staff. They are always helpful to pull stuff out of my hands as I'm walking around the store and set it aside for me so my hands are free.

This has to be the best little shop in town with all the vendors in one location and great stuff. I always seem to find antiques that fit my modern/traditional decorating style.

The vendors are plentiful and the merchandise is terrific. Unfortuniately, the staff is not as worthy. We were brushed off and hurried away from the holding shelves as we were picking up our purchases, while admiring someone else's glassware. One of the staff commented in a demeaning tone, to be sure that we knew it was sold. Apparently, this customer and her glassware was ever so important! When we asked about a missing piece to one of our purchases, we got a shake of the head and "I really can't help you with that." The lady attending the glassware customer, could not hurry up the packing of our items fast enough to get us out of the way. Our purchase was just short of $100, which seemed to surprise the 2 ladies on the staff. My questions is, "where do you get these people??!!" It was rude and obvious and as a professional in a global business, I wouldn't tolerate it from staff!

The Langstons were hired to sell the contents of our elderly grandfather's home. We feel that this company preys on the elderly and took advantage of our grandfather. He was promised a substantial amount of money for all of the antiques, furniture, appliances and many other items he had in his home. After the sale took place, we were disappointed in the amount the Langstons said was made. They took out large sums of funds for advertising and cleaning fees and showed no proof of this being done. It took many phone calls and numerous attempts to contact the company to receive payment. In order for them to send us a check, they made us sign a waiver that we would accept the amount of money that they determined. We couldn't believe the amount they wanted us to sign on since they led us to believe that a much greater sum of money would be made at the estate sale. We even learned from a friend who attended the estate sale that there were lines out the door of people who were there waiting to get in. Since we were in another city, we were unable to prove what was actually made and we were too busy caring for our grandfather who became very ill at this time to pursue further action. So, we agreed to the low amount they gave us so we could receive the money and get on with our lives. After many phone calls, we received two checks that bounced due to insufficient funds. We finally threatened to take legal action and only then almost four months after the sale were we issued a legitimate check. Don't be fooled by how nice they seem when you first meet them. They will not only not pay you what the contents of your home is worth, they will try to not pay you at all!

I do not agree with the guy writing the negative review. I suspect he thought his stuff was worth more than it was. I would rather shop at a place that tells you the truth - they can't quote over the phone silver bullion goes up and down - anyone telling you a price on the phone wont give it to you if it goes down before you get there. I have bought Diamonds including the diamond in my engagment ring was bought there, watches and other jewerly and at great prices. I have sent and taken friends there and they too recieved great prices on their diamonds. By the way anyone thinking used diamond in your engagement ring is just wrong then I have a real news flash for you. Diamonds are recycled and yes even engagement rings bought at the Expensive Jewerly stores at the mall have recycled diamonds they just dont tell you. If you want glitter and glam and you want to pay a lot more for the same thing go to the mall me I will continue going where I get a lot more for the money because I would rather wear the glitter and glam!
