Collision repair centers are notorious for shoddy workmanship and answering to the insurance companies. Unfortunately, Champs is no different.

I took my car in for repairs to a rear end collision from a drunk driver. I had to take my car back in three times to fix repairs. Who ever repaired my car obviously assumed that I would not look under the carpet in my trunk to check out the repairs, but I did. I found unrepaired damaged that they had missed or ignored. They tried to fix it by pouring liquid putty over the damage. In addition, they painted over a piece of tape and refused to repaint the spot. The frame damage they repaired has now returned to its previous condition, but their one year warranty has now expired.

Progressive insurance is little better and very unhelpful despite the fact that their drive had been drunk. Damage from the accident slowly continues to appear, but progressive insurance has washed their hands of the situation.

This company apparently has a new deal with the chiropractic clinic 8 blocks up Canal St. near Chickie-Wah-Wah to tow cars at night from the clinic's parking lot, which is an attractive place for Chickie-Wah-Wah patrons to park after clinic hours. Having dinner and a glass of wine with my sister outside the club while Anders Osborne and Susan Cowsill played inside, I suddenly noticed a Mid City tow truck about to tow our car in the dark parking lot. I confronted the driver, a bald dude with metal teeth named Kenny "White Boy" Muhl, who threatened to break my legs with his tow truck as he scooped up our car. I stepped aside. A black dude came out of the shadows to ask White Boy if he "was doin' alright." Next day (4/7/2010), we ransomed our car from Mid City Towing's pig sty of a lot, with a patch of scratches on the front bumper, for $172 plus change. The thug attendant said he'd tell White Boy I was looking for him. I said we'd have the police talk to the Boy. Best to steer clear of this company at all costs.

I bought a 2009 TNG Venice from "Scooter Ria" (now "Garden District Scooters") last March. It was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. First, the owner of the shop (Steve Lopez) randomly charged $500.00 to my credit card, and it took 2 weeks for him to get me my money back. In the meantime, he gave me the runaround and was absent from the shop. Second, the shop was supposed to take care of my vehicle registration. My temporary tag ended up expiring and they issued me a new one, which also expired before I finally got my official plate (it took 6 months). Third, the scooter was sold to me with a $500 gas card from the manufacturer, which I never received. Fourth, the scooter frame recently broke in half (from normal use on New Orleans streets). I had the scooter for less than a year, and I found out the warranty is bogus because the manufacturer is out of business. Fifth, I never received the TITLE for my scooter, so even if I wanted to sell it, I couldn't. In the end, it was worth it to me to sell the scooter back to Steve for parts just so that I never have to deal with him or his shop ever again! The sleazebag "promised" not to put my scooter back on the street, since it is broken, but I don't believe a word he says. This business should be shut down. The owner is total thief & should go to jail. Check out all of the other people he has ripped off: http://neworleans.citysearch.com/profile/37362728/n ew_orleans_la/lagniappe_scooters.html

First, the driver couldn't find my location - even while I was standing outside waving, telling him the address on the phone, and describing the building, he passed me and stopped on an entirely different block - this, after stopping at the other end of my block the first time. On the way to the repair shop, he went in the opposite direction of the shop TWICE, even though he repeated the street address to me and claimed to know the shop. At one point he turned left after I told him to turn right (after he heard me and acknowledged "right". If I hadn't chosen to go along and walk back home, I wonder if the car ever would have made it.

wow--I really wish I read these reviews before buying a scooter from Garden District Scooters, or whatever Steve is calling his shop on Sophie Wright Pl. now. I bought a 2009 TNG Venice last March. First, he charged $500 to my credit card and it took him 2 weeks to get me my money back. Second, the scooter was supposed to come with a $500 gas card from the manufacturer, which I never got. Third, Steve was supposed to take care of my registration. My first temporary tag expired and I had to get a second one. It took 6 months for me to get my plate. Fourth, the scooter frame broke in half (that's right!) less than a year from when I bought it & the warranty is not valid because TNG is out of business. Overall, it was worth selling the scooter back to Steve for parts just so I never have to deal with him or his sleazy shop ever again! Do not even walk in the door of this shop. He should be sued.

I was very pleased with the quick and professional service. They took the time to listen to my various concerns about how my car was running and gave me a thorough description of how the technicians would address the problems. The estimate was fair and reasonable and the same day service was excellent.

They tried very hard to fit me in, even though my car need a lot of work and I came late in the day. They gave me a free oil change with my detailing (knowing that I needed one b/c I told them) and they gave me a free oil change card for my friend who recommended me. The detailing was very thorough and my car looked good as new (even though I came there with the car looking completely gross and filthy). Great great job!

I was really shocked by the excellent customer service at pitstop automotive. They took the time to go over all the auto repairs needed in detail and was very friendly and informative. They also fixed my car quickly considering all the problems I had.
