This is not a place to send your child.... If you need somewhere in this area for your child to attend daycare... try the Active Learning Center... (a little more expensive.. but that doesn't matter when you want your child to be in a safe environment!!).. Can't tell you how many times, my kids were sent home with bite marks or bug bites up and down their legs because she did not take care of all the insects outside where the kids play. One day, my son came home with his front two teeth broke and did not even send him home with an accident report. I had pictures of my son the day before on my phone with him smiling and his teeth was fine until the next day at school where they were broken and no one could even explain to me why. Or how many times I would come to pick up my son and he would by playing by himself in the corner while the teacher was cleaning on the other side of the room instead of interacting with my son. You kids will be sick all the time and come home with diaper rash frequently. The daycare has been broken into more than once. So no telling who has my kids information (social security #, address, ect)... And the 2 weeks the daycare was broken into and NOT EVEN OPEN..... She still tried to charge you for those 2 weeks!!!! The turn over rate is unreal.... Just when your child gets used to a teacher and learns their name she will be gone before you kno it and somone new will come in... The only person in that entire daycare that I would ever trust my child with is Ms. Cha'.... but other than that... I would not reccommend this daycare to anyone... horrible experience.. I switched my kids to Active Leaning Center and love everything about it so far..

My Child is happy to go, which says a lot. I believe he is learning new study skills and the communication is excellent between [NewPoint] and the parents. My sixteen- year old son has had many tutoring experiences since age nine. This is the first that he enjoys it and is responsible in keeping the appointments! He is gaining confidence in his studies and has the utmost respect for Ms. Brackin Sevits. NewPoint Learning Center helped my student comprehend, organize thoughts on paper, and gain speed in reading. My student has begun to take control of his studies in an efficient and more focused manner. He is much more focused in his studies. He has begun to understand the he can be taught to learn better. I can see him implementing techniques taught at the center. New Learning Center helped my student establish trust with a tutor. He seems to almost look forward to sessions. NewPoint Learning Center helped my student do better on his exams and tests. NewPoint’s approach is up to date utilization of learning and teaching techniques to better equip the student to take accountability for their own learning. I am very pleased with how my son has progressed in this manner. Their interest is personal, not just financial. If someone asked me about my experience with NewPoint Learning Center, I would tell them they help my child prepare well for tests.

The Stage has everything a native, or tourist, could want from a Nashville Honkey Tonk! I go every Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm to see the amazing Sarah Montgomery and the Patch Work Band play and hang out with the Awesome Bar Tender Casey. She'll be the gorgeous blonde serving drinks to the customers and getting up on stage to sing some Miranda Lambert every now and then. Come on over and hang out with us some time!

I was blocked from registering for classes. After calling TSU for help they said that they never got my $25 application fee and they wouldn't take any money now, so you just forfeit being a student unless you come in person and find your check yourself. Isn't that their job? Anyways, I went to the Bursar's office where they told me no, we've got your $25, and they sent me on a wild goosechase to find out why I'm blocked from registering. FIVE HOURS of waiting in lines for the wrong people to help me this is what I was told: "i'm not the one to help you he is" then you go to that person and they say "go back to where you were, they are supposed to help you". No one knew who was supposed to help me. Finally the head of the department tells me what went wrong. I WAS NEVER ACCEPTED! That's right. I've got a signed acceptance letter, as well as previously had an hour counseling with my assigned advisor....um, didn't he see I wasn't accepted since HE was supposed to review, accept me, then send my info to financial aid for my loans? What an idiot! The crazy thing is this is very common at TSU! Students are sent acceptance letters when they haven't been accepted, so if you have an acceptance letter, you may still not truly be accepted. The head of this department said to go back to my advisor, you remember the guy who advised me on my classes but never accepted me as a student. That guy? Oh, yeah, when I went back to him he sent me to the dean. then the dean sent me back to him. My best help during all of this was that I had emails and tons of signed documentation. Every time I met with someone I had them sign their names to whatever notes I took of what they said. Please use this advice if you go to TSU! To wrap things up I took off 5 days of work (don't bother calling NOONE answers!) to fix these issues and I worked at TSU at least 6 hours a day to fix their problems that were hurting me (as well as hundreds of other students who mostly gave up at this point)I could start classes right? Well....I registered, confirmed my status, and paid off my balance that fin aid didin't cover. Then, 3 hours later, ALL of my aid was deleted and I was kicked out of my classes with no warning or reason. I waited in line with about 75 other students at fin aid at 8am to find out what went wrong. BTW the woman who runs fin aid comes out and yells at all the students no matter what the time (they just opened!), and her job is to chase students away-literally! The fin aid counselors are either overworked or stupid and they don't want to be bothered with fixing their mistakes. She does that everyday so don't listen to her! Don't take the appointment slips either, and hold your ground! I've met so many students who wait in line there everyday, one girl's been waiting everyday for 7 days, and they keep sending her away with an appointment the next day, then sending her away again. I saw a couple students get a call from their work that they were fired b/c they had to keep taking off to deal with fin aid. Today a guy fainted after waiting over 2 hours in line and cracked his head on the floor. If you can go to school without fin aid you will be better off. TSU has now slapped me with late fees after I honestly paid on time and to get them waived the Bursar's office said go to Fin Aid and find out what their problem is, of course, after Fin Aid refused to see me even though I was in line before they even opened! Long story short you have to do everyone else's job at TSU on top of being a student and staying on top of your things. I'm currently a student but not proud of it. I luckily got my family to pay for all of my school b/c they were sick and tired of the way I was being pushed around. It makes me sick how they treat their students, and it should be illegal to treat people like that. I don't believe in my fellow Americans being treated this way.

This was my 2nd time dealing child care. My oldest attended Active Learning Center while it was a pretty good school they were extremely expensive. A to Z is affordably priced, the teachers are great. i get random calls from them, just letting me know how my daughter is doing. The teachers actually try and teach the children versus watching them like most do. My advice is visit the school and compare them and I am sure you will end up bringing them to A to Z. Don't listen to the bad reviews for this place, probably just bad parents who want someone to watch their kids so they don't have to. My daughter has been here for one year and I would never think about sending her anywhere else.

I worked here for maybe 3 weeks a while back, and I brought my daughter with me although she stayed in a seperate classroom. I was appalled at the standards this school set for themselves. The director is anything but professional or loving. She gladly recounts stories of drinking all night then attending state day care licensing meetings with other long time employees, she uses foul language which is not always confined to offices with closed doors, and she consistently breaks state laws regulating daycares by allowing one or two teachers to care for 30+ kids of mixed ages. There is no way to ensure that the children are active or cared for because no one even cares in this center! My daughter was an infant and she was always filthy. The floor in the infant room was routinely neglected, and often the floor went unvacumed. I began taking home her sheets every day or every other day because they would be dirty or have food that was not cleaned off of my child before they had her lie down to sleep. All of my concerns were ignored and shrugged off. Special needs children were ignored, lessons were non-existent, children were unhappy, and the center was unkept. Staff smoke outside right in front of the door, and I found beer bottle caps in the trashcan one morning - whether they were from a parent or a teacher I don't know but it was very unsettling. Oh... and DHS called them before they came to "inspect" but they didn't even really look around. I was dismayed at this, but the only reason I could come up with for this and the fact that the center, at the time, had a 3 star rating, was that maybe they had paid them off or something??? But I do know that it is illegal for them to be notified before the DHS representatives come down there (not the Star rating people, but the DHS reps who check to make sure day care centers are at least doing the bare minimum and not breaking laws). Please, look elsewhere.

I am a 45 year old single mother of two children and I have worked since I was 14 years old. In the past, I financially contributed and volunteered my time not only at Second Harvest, but at other non-profits. I've NEVER asked for assistance from any of them, until now. Due to my work cutting back our hours, and I'm struggling harder than I ever have, I called 2nd Harvest last week and I was informed they had food at the New York St location. During my lunch break from work, I rush down there, but was told they were out of food. I can understand this since it's hard times for everyone. Today, I called them and was again reassured they had food. Again, I leave work and rush down there. After waiting in line, I was told they stopped handing out food at 1:30. I looked at the clock and it 1:15. I mentioned it was not yet 1:30. I was again told they have stopped handing out food for the day. I go outside and see people loading their cars with boxes of food. I wait outside my car and continue to see people bringing out food. Perhaps, I misunderstood the purpose and mission behind Second Harvest??? Perhaps, my Caucasian skin disqualified me?? Perhaps, the people working there cared more about getting out the door than their monthly contributors and former volunteers who are asking for help in return for the first time?? Whatever the reason, I am very very disappointed, and truly do hope this is a rarity and NOT the norm. Will I be back? Nope!!!…not for food, not to volunteer, and certainly not to contribute when the hard times have ended.
