I have trained at a handful of Chinese and Japanese schools over the last 15 years in and around the St louis area, and the quality of instruction and the arts presented at The St Louis Taoist Association are of the highest quality.
Tim Bruewer communicates the information given in a clear, straight forward, and informal manner that makes it much easier for a western mind to grasp. Now this by no means conveys that the training is easy and untraditional. Quite the contrary. You'll get back what you put into this. What separates Tim from other teachers is not only his direct connection to the source (he is a personal student of Wudang Priest Yun Xiang Tseng), but also his ability to transmit true internal fighting applications in a realistic and not just a theoretical manner. This is a school that can truly help you find stillness, and stillness leads to peace.

This course has it all; three times. Out of three 9 hole courses you have many chances to improve your game. The Woodlands Course is the most scenic and is full of high-risk/high reward blind shots. (Hint: Be sure to get on the fairway on 1&2, even if you need to use an iron from the tee) (Hint: On #6 [par 3], drop two normal clubs from the tee. Disregard the wind at the clubhouse as it often differs at the green) . The Prairie Course is the longest of the three, a more straight-forward design. Not much to look out for except on #9, you wont see the fairway bunker until you have to approach out of it. The Meramec Course is the shortest course of the three, and is a good confidence boosting course, while although it still offers boughts of frustration. After you play it once or twice, you get a feel for the courses, making them much simpler to play.

Sifu Adams (PhD), his Staff and Students teach me hand forms I doubted, after seeing some, I'd ever be able to grasp and learn, but they brake them down, and help me learn. They are all accordingly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, apprachable, and patient. No wonder that I feel at home there. I am also greatful that Sifu accepted me on a show-up, daily fee, so I don't lose any money if I can't be there, and I can afford the rate!!! I thank him very much for that. Sifu, a devoted family man, is the best!

Where to begin... The school is of okay size, the curriculum is weak and the instruction is very bad (if not dangerous). The "Master" is weak in martial arts and very weak in the basic principals of MA (honesty. respect and integrity are his biggest weaknesses). I have trained in martial arts for many years and am a 3rd degree Black belt in Taekwondo and 1st degree in Hapkido and have had the pleasure of training in many studios and can without hesitation say this the worst I have ever seen. If you make the unfortunate decision of going to this school just make sure you only pay as little as possible in advance as the school is barely making rent and you will loose whatever you pay when (not if) they go out of business again. I cancelled my contract with them and it was a major hassle and the stole a good part of my money. *** STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS ***

Sherwood is a great nine hole course! The course is family owned and they make you feel like part of the family. I have been a member for many years and so have several others. They have a pool too so it makes it possible to play golf while the kids swim! The Buford Family, Jimmy, Patty and Sam, greet you everyday and keep the course looking beautiful!

The Scene
This is one of the most scenic courses in the area. Rivers, lakes and hardwood forests make the setting truly picturesque. To the natural beauty, add a Gary Player design, and you've got one heck of a place to golf.

Fair but Tough
Like all Gary Player-designed courses, players of every level will find a comfort zone here. Be warned. Despite this, Tapawingo was named toughest public course in the region. The course has also been named among the top 10 in the state of Missouri.

Unique
There are lots of unique holes, such as the one along the Meramac River as well as nearly all the Woodlands 9. While this course may be a little expensive by Missouri standards, it's still a great value for a place that is so beautiful, where the staff is friendly and the pace of play excellent.

The Course
Hale Irwin designed Quail Creek when he was between his championships on the regular tour and the Senior Tour. When it opened in 1986, the course was such a success that people thought Irwin was a better course designer than a player--and he's a three-time U.S. Open champion.

The Crowd
Quail Creek may be the most popular course in the area for corporate outings. It has four sets of tees, playing from 4,120 yards to 6,805 yards. The course is so inviting that most people play from the back tees.
