Project Scope:
Our remodeling project involved rearranging the interior walls to create a master suite and redoing stucco walls to the affected exterior walls. (Location: Glendora, CA)
The contract was written in such a way that Unique Home Remodeling (UHR) was responsible for the construction and all the necessary framing materials needed to complete the job. We were responsible for the light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, tiles, AC and furnace, etc. This eliminated the potential disagreement on material quality. It also provided us with better budget control since it was something that we had full control of. Some items that we were not familiar with like water heater, AC unit, UHR provided us with recommendations and vendors. All in all, they were very flexible with the contract.
The remodeling experience was pleasant but not flawless. We had a few things that came up after the demolition. Renegotiation was made and agreed upon. Most issues discovered during construction were resolved professionally.
The one thing that impressed us the most is that they followed through on their warranty. We had an issue with the furnace not function a few months after the project was done. UHR came and repaired without hesitation and eventually resolved the problem.
Overall, the project went smoothly and we were happy with the work quality. There were minor issues here and there but all expected for a construction project, right? Reading some of the not so positive reviews, I feel that UHR also deserves at least another good review.
