What a waste of my time and money! I went to a weekend long workshop featuring Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei recently. The Grandmaster was great - just being in the room was worth my money. But this guy Gary Huff is something else. It was obvious he didn't know a lot of the material covered in the workshop by the Grandmaster (Mr. Huff's teacher). But when the Grandmaster asked Mr. Huff to lead the class, it became more obvious he was clueless.

Part of the weekend was a "Long Pole" form. I have read that this is usually done with a 8-9 foot pole, and Mr. huff supplied everyone with these dinky 6-foot poles. And once again, when the Grandmaster asked Mr. Huff to lead the class in the Long Pole form it was obvious he did not know it. He even got so nervous he started making sexual inuendos with his long pole in frpnt of the class. How incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.

His website goes out of its way to tell everyone Mr. Huff is a "Master" who has studied in China. If I was the Grandmaster, I would be quite embarrassed to tell anyone this guy was my student. Worst Tai Chi teacher ever.

My sister and I took my 3 kids (ages 4, 2, and 9 months) for something to do one summer afternoon. Upon arriving we were excited that it was FREE that day to get in based on the weather which was under 90 degrees *the cost is $3 per person typically*--as soon as we walked in, we should have walked back out if we knew what was in store for us that day we would have never come. Here's what happened 1) one of the girls at the front desk told us admission was free and we could go on in, as soon as we started walking into the locker room entrance another, older woman HOLLERED "I have to check you in!!!" We were like "ok, no problem"--so she looked us up and down and asked where my daughter's "swim diaper" was--UMMM it was on her and under her swim suit (duh!) and then she asked me why I didn't have my swim suit on, I DID have it on, and I showed her it was under my street clothes. So after we were throughly inspected for dressing properly, we proceeded to the locker room which smelled on PINE SOL and I literally choked from the fumes, they had obviously DUMPED the entire bottle of Pine Sol on the floor and rubbed it around with a mop--it was not diluted at all and I was LITERALLY gagging on the fumes. 2) As soon as we got out to the pool area, my sister and I sat the kids down near a little spray area that they had for the kids--AS SOON as I sat down (wasn't even getting in the water as I was putting sun block on my kids) the lifeguard starts hollering "Ma'm! Ma'm!" so I look up at her and I'm like "yes?" She says, "you can't have any street clothes on" (mind you I was wearing a tank top and a cotton skirt) I was like "um, I'm not getting in the water yet" she said "you can't be out of the locker room with any street clothes on" I was like, ok and went ahead and stripped down to just the swim suit. 3) I proceeded to blow up a floating toy for my 9 month old (one of the ones the infant can sit in while you hold onto the other end) when the FREAKIN' whistle was blown at me again!! and the lifeguard told me I couldn't have that in the pool either. 4) We went over to the main swimming area--AND wouldn't you know it? My sister got the whistle blown on her for my 4 year old son jumping off of the ledge (3 ft 5 in) to her (this is something we do at all pools..it's hardly dangerous!) 5) After a bit I got the whistle blown at me again--I looked at the lifeguard and she asked "can he touch the bottom of the pool with his feet" I said, no--she said "then he needs to hold onto the ledge at all times" (what a fun swimming trip--holding onto the ledge!) So i told my son to go ahead and hang onto the ledge. THEN we got the whistle blown at us again!! BECAUSE HE WASN'T HOLDING THE LEDGE WITH 2 HANDS!!! At this point I had had about enough. 6) my 2 year old son was also swimming in the large pool also and he actually COULD wear his life jacket (i was honestly shocked), he asked me to "swim" so he could see me. I literally swam 5 feet away from my son when the lifeguard *RUDE* blew her whistle at me FOUR different times and hollered "ma'm ma'm" she said it four times (I didn't look at her b/c I didn't think I was doing anything wrong) so she hollered it out again, I looked at her and she said "you can't leave him in the middle of the pool by himself, just b/c he has a life jacket on does NOT mean he can swim". This was the straw that broke the camels back, I rolled my eyes at her and we left. As we were leaving, another woman said she couldn't wear her swim cap there and she wasn't shocked that nobody was there b/c they had too many dang rules.

To be honest I know the owner. That being said I had not met with him or talked to him in several years and had never been to the store. When I walked in I couldn't believe how busy they were.(I counted 14 people in the store) The staff working there treated me well and were able to answer all my question.(Even before they knew that I knew the owner) They stay busy, phone never stops ringing, but they manage to take care of the customer. Final comment: Many gun shops tend to cater to a certain type of clientele, SNAP SHOTS had the most diverse group of customers I have ever seen in a gun shop, and all were treated equally well.

I would not reccomend this school, and here is why:

While I feel the teacher is very knowledgable, he is also very full of himself and can be quite rude. He seems rather bi-polar: kind and caring one minute and mean and disrespectful the next.

He also seems to be concerned with making money first and teaching second.

I would recommend any other Tai Chi school in Kansas City before this one.

If you want to study Chen style Tai Chi, which is what they teach at Three Dragons Way, you are better off going to www.kctaiji.com.

The teacher there is actually from China, speaks English and Chinese, and is from the Chen family. She is also very fun and pleasant to be around.

I have learned more about Tai Chi in one week from her than I learned from Three Dragons Way in a over a year. AND she showed me how to practice Tai Chi correctly without hurting my knees, which no one at Three Dragons Way could ever teach me.

Don't waste your time with Three Dragons Way

The Owner who was present at the wedding did not follow the arrangments made prior to the wedding, and overcharged, rude to guests, rude to wedding party, and did not act in a professional manner. After confronting owner about issues, he became very rude. the owner decided on his own behalf to charge my credit card with out authorization or giving a invoice. He fully understood the amount was in dispute but decided again to act unprofessional and charge the card anyway. I would not recommend this venue to anyone at anytime. I have been forced to take legal action!!

New owners have invested in this place and made it a wonderful place to have a birthday party or just have some family fun!! They have a great website that makes it easy to reserve lanes for parties and events. Kudos to the new owners for bringing back my family nights!!! Check out their website for information.

THE EDGE OF HELL IS NOT A FAMILY ENVIROMENT TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO. My wife and I took our 9 yr. old to the haunted house last night thur. the 29th. Two different edge of hell employees used vulgar language , and hurled the f-bomb PROFANITY RIGHT IN OUR CHILD'S PRESENCE! We are so offended by this that we want to share our experience with other parents to warn them of the lowlife vulgar dirty losers, who work at this business. When we complained to a "manager", whom another emp. referred to as "sniffles", this man would not offer a requested refund, and instead proffered an insincere weak, lame attempt at an apology, oh and the promise to go right to the two employees, and reprimand them, if he could identify the two we described to him.The "manager" appeared to be drinking, my wife said she smelled alcohol on the man's breath. You expect to run into drunks, and mouthy people in the general public, but not in a business that you are patronizing, we paid to have these unprofessional miscreants hurl obscentities at our child? Please take the high road, and find a more family suitable outing for your childrens sake, than the gutter lowlifes at this business.

Great staff. They took care of everything! Great clubhouse surroundings, and my daughter had a perfect evening. I would recommend Hillcrest to anyone. We even got to golf that morning. Great golf course too!
