I went in there with 2 large boxes of clothes, a 16-gallon bin with clothes in it as well, and a huge bag full of shoes worn a handfull of times. You name it: stilletos, wedges, pumps, dressy boots, chucks, even a brand new pair of uggs. We waited about an hour which I could understand if it were a Saturday afternoon. But it was Wednesday around 3pm. They weren't busy by any means. After patiently waiting, they wrote my name on the dry erase board which signals when they're ready for you. Out of all the clothes I brought in (which could easily have fetched $200 compared to the last couple times I've been to Plato's Closet in Winston), they kept about 6 articles of clothing and 1 or 2 pairs of shoes, reaching a grand total of $30. Hey, that's a full tank of gas, but what kills me is it was all name brand. Nothing was worn out or faded and everything was less than 1 year old. Oh, and one of the girls who couldn't have been more than 17 said they were not accepting t-shirts at this time. Really? What's funny is that half of the clothes they did purchase from me WERE t-shirts. And....well it's summer time. Why not accept something people are going to buy boadloads of?? My irritation and confusion would be an understatement. The fact that all of these high school girls had bad attitudes alone would have stopped me from going in there again. But their hypocrisy and contradiction and ill-will towards customers is the ultimate reason i will never go back.
