there are dealers out there who understand the importance of trust & cooperation in developing a relationship that leads to REPEAT business. we have always preferred & buy english & southern US antiques & would have purchased from this place again except for their unashamed FRAUD on our initial purchase. never again...
THIS IS NOT A TRUSTWORTHY BUSINESS
this guy barefacedly lies to fleece your money. an item was described to be "turn of the century, 1890-1900". and what the hey, you seem sincerely interested so I'll knock some $100 bucks off for ya. so when we researched the exact date, guess what???? it's a modern piece, hardly 10y old, from 1990's.
when the manager was contacted, he tried several tactics from:
1.interrogating us about our information source, claimed these other dealers were lying & he coulnd't imagine why
2.then claimed he'd had it in the shop from before the 1990's (if that was true, no wonder he lied to get rid of it!)
3.personally attacked us as not "doing a lot of antique shopping" (is that some personal flaw? hunh? we need ot defend ourselves as dedicated antiques shoppers? is that germaine? would it change anythign about the current situation if we said we were new or experienced? hunh???)
4.claimed he couldnt' do anything because of the "length of time" since purchase (that is less than 3 weeks)
5.refused to give his name or the other supposed dealer's name 6.then said there's a no-return policy & we should have known it
6.hung up in the middle of the call we're considering our options....
avoid the heartache by avoiding this place!
