I stopped in this shop today after lunch because we have recently been considering adding a bird to our family. We went in and before the door shut behind us, 2 women parked in chairs 5 feet from the door asked us rudely if they could help us. I felt as if I had walked into someone's clubhouse and needed to give a password. I smiled and told her that we had just seen the store and came to look - and actually waited for a response because I wondered if that was OK. I was being stared down by the women and felt very uncomfortable. I excused myself to catch up with my boyfriend who went ahead and started browsing the store. We saw a total of 7 birds. They were all beautiful but seemed to be either agressive or starved for attention. We spent about 5 minutes admiring the birds and the selection of cages. When my boyfriend looked at a sign clearly listing prices for clipping, they called out to him that those were not the prices for birds (and did so in a very rude and condescending way). He responded with "No obviously not" and they laughed and made comments to each other. At that point we'd had enough so we left. We may not have been there to make a purchase but we were shopping. Had they not been so rude, we would consider going there in the future to see if a bird catches our eye and seems like the right match for our family. However, I'd rather buy from someone who I feel genuinely wants my business.
