This is a sales & service outfit that, you guessed it, sells and more importantly SERVICES high-end Italian (primarily Saeco) home espresso machines. The storefront is closed now but the two partners took their businesses home. The one guy did commercial machines and the European guy did home machines and still does, his number is (216) 544-4954 and he's very friendly and helpful- it's a labor of love for him and he likes to help. He sure helped us eliminate our expensive coffee-shop habits that were costing about as much per month as one machine, we've bought three machines from him for us, family, and some old friends, with prompt service for all of them whenever we need maintenance. Last time he told us hey, it's just a little washer that got old, I won't charge you anything. Can't beat that.

The charming atmosphere of the outdoor dining area couldn't bear the weight of the limited and inflexible menu served by a staff that made me feel as if I'd never had brunch outside of a chain restaurant. Lucky's Cafe reminded me of places I've been in Maine with casual picnic tables in the midst of a garden. Our server started out charming and witty, but things took a turn when I wanted to order a dish called the Shipwreck without bacon. She asked the manager and the answer was "no". I then asked if I could have a side of scrambled eggs with an order of pancakes. Again the answer was "no" and the excuse was the small kitchen didn't allow them the luxury of substitutions. What I asked was for the kitchen to omit an item not substitute. Also, what breakfast place refuses to make a side of scrambled eggs?! My brunch companions thought the food was OK, but overpriced. The blueberry smoothies were exceptionally good, but not worth it at $5.95 each. I doubt I'll return to Lucky's when there are so many other great breakfast places nearby (Grumpie's, West Side Market Cafe) where side orders are commonplace and the service is better.

The below reviews really hit the nail on the head with the problems at Lucky's. We had many of the same experiences. The 30 minute wait for a table wasn't bad, but the hour waiting for food after ordering was ridiculous. We were also given the teaspoonful of ketchup and the menu never mentioned that my breakfast burritos would be covered in sauce filled with nutmeg. Yuck. The other food we ordered was good and very fresh. Also it was nice to have the espresso bar available as part of our meal, but the waiter was insistent upon called "iced coffee" by some other name they use and even went so far as to be accusatory when another waitress brought over the wrong drinks. Other than the one waiter, the rest of the staff were friendly and courteous but there are really a lot of better places for brunch in Cleveland.

The very first time going to this restaurant! When I arrived with my fiance, the hostess was not super friendly and when we clearly asked her for a booth, she called upon a male waiter to escort us to a table and we had tell the waiter that we asked the hostess for booth. Staff is semi-friendly, restaurant walls too cluttered with photos and the restaurant could use more lighting throughout. The food, on a scale of 1-10, we would give it a 2, for number of persons writing this review. The portions are larger than most other italian restaurants, but the prices are too high for the quality of food, period!! If you want italian, you would be better off going to the grocery store, buying a loaf of garlic bread, a box of spaghetti and a jar of Prego, "It's in there.," which would be a lot thicker than chopped up boiled tomatos and water seasoned with salt and pepper, and call it a night!! Save your hard earned money!! Save yourselves of severe disappointment!! We have learned a very valuable lesson today.
