I would not recommend this florist or company to anyone, especially a bride! When I think of floral design, I do not think of this florist. I was promised that my floral arrangement would look exactly as shown in photographs, but I received a MUCH lower quality, sad version of what I wanted when I arrived at my wedding. I thought I made it crystal clear through numerous emails, meetings and photos, but I realized that she promised a design that she couldn't deliver. I was extremely disappointed!!

DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Total Incompetence!! That is the only way to describe my interaction with Gary Taylor. I bought a replacement piece of glass for my table. Unfortunately, the glass was 1/8 of an inch too long. I had my misgivings about sending back, as the original order took several weeks to receive and I didn't get a price quote before getting the glass, but decided to send back.

After three months of Gary being totally unresponsive to my requests for a status update, the glass finally arrived. I was shocked when Gary demanded that I pay additional fee for the new glass. And, then had the audacity to say that I was lucky because the glass was lost by the supplier, so I could have been charged more. Let me repeat. I was lucky because Gary's supplier took three months to admit that they lost my glass!!! Gary needs to look up luck in the dictionary.

I've been dealing with For Eyes at 2021 L St. off and on for years, though for some reason their files
suggest I've been there fewer times than my own files (and memory) have it. No matter,...here you'll get as good an eye exam as I think you'll get anywhere. Dr. Simon has been there for a long time and is the real deal. He takes his time, is very thorough and he obviously cares about his craft. He's perfectly happy to give you all the detail you want. The cost of the exam was quite reasonable.

The frame choices at For Eyes have always struck me as very limited. Boring, actually, but then they are priced accordingly. This last time i simply gave up and went down the street to Apex Optical which has a much nicer selection of frames, and of course at prices that can greatly affect your mood. But I'm tired of
wimpy, boring glasses, so I bit the bullet.

So I give four stars for the shop but a five star rating for Dr. Simon. Really, I doubt you can do better than Simon. But in my opinion, the frame selection is middle of the road and joyless. So make two merchants happy!

Harris Titter sucks! It is a terrible, awful, no good, very bad place to work and to shop! Where to begin, I mean agree with all of the other comments on HT's but I don't understand where people are getting the idea that it is a gourmet food provider. It is nothing of the sort maybe compared to shitastic Safeway but, it isn't hard to compete with rotten or non existent food. Whole Foods, Market of Choice, Dean & Deluca, The Kiva those are gourmet food stores. A gourmet food store is a place where the employees have eaten or at least know what pad thai, hummus, caviar is. A gourmet food store is place where organic is not just sticker you slap on because that's the 'cool thing'. Harris Titter charges Whole Foods prices for Wal-Mart groceries. They are so unorganized, it is wonder the walls don't fall down around them. The apathy they have for their customers is disgusting. They print these sale tags every week (many of which are a complete waste of paper) which show the that are on sale, but at Harris Titter not all items are on sale some the price stayed the same or the price has gone up but people pick the item thinking that it is on sale. In their training video they preach all this customer service B.S that sounds really good but hardly anyone practices it either because they have no desire to or because they're sick of the management jumping all over them about spending too much time with customers. Instead of demanding that everyone actually do their job, share responsibility, and provide quality customer service (I guess that would be socialism, and we're all pro America and shit at the Titter) they just ask too much from the employees that care and nothing from anyone else. Too often if you go into the store at Jenkins Row you'll see the Store Manager running around like a chicken with her head cut off, breaking her back doing the job of her employees instead of spending time on quality assurance. The wine consultant has an plethora of knowledge to share but she is often in the back room stocking, moping up spills in the store (the janitor thinks it isn't his job) or empathizing with a dissatisfied customer. And it is all okay because they don't have any competition( it's DC the service sucks everywhere, you feel good if the person speaks) they pay well depending on the position. But the thing about that is they will take complete advantage of you, many of the manager that get paid so well can't enjoy it because they're in that store seven days a week and when they do get home I am sure all they want to do is sleep. Recently there was a pretty significant snow storm that hit the East Coast, a HT employee that lives about 40 miles from the store was asked to come in because his department was short staffed so he did. This employee doesn't have a car so he must take two trains and a bus to get to work, he arrived to the fine. Once at work other employee was sent home for sharing a difference of opinion. As the day progressed and the weather got worse the employee was contacted by family to come home because the metro was shutting down along with all the major roads back into the city. The employee asked to leave so he could make it home, he was told to wait because the store might close early so he did. By the time this employee was able to leave all bus service had stopped, he and several older ladies from the bakery dept who didn't speak English sat at the bus stop for over an hour and a half until a generous citizen offered to give them a ride to a covered metro station. The employee had to walk about 10 miles home. When I called his job the next day and told them he would not be able to work they were very upset and told him that if he was the kind of employee that didn't want to come to work they could find some one else to fill his position. This employee was very hurt because just he day before he had risked his own safety to show at work on his day off and because he wasn't willing to do that again they wanted to replace him! Harris Titter is a hot mess, I hope to never work for or shop there again! And VIC cards are stupid there is no savings!

Unbelievably rude on the phone - over the top, frothing at the mouth, namecalling. Threatened to throw two pictures in the garbage, one of which was already paid for, when asked about why the bill was so high for making a copy of a large photograph. It is certainly not worth dealing with his tantrums for merely passable work.

I didn't buy a guitar there, but I did take lessons. All of the staff including my teacher were very friendly and I learned a lot. I looked forward to every lesson, and I had a lot of fun. I disagree with a previous review that says the owner of the shop doesn't want his merchandise handled. There was more than one occasion when I didn't have time to go home and get my guitar before the lesson and the shop owner let me borrow one without hesitation.
