Please do not go to the Cleaners. While the lady at the front is extremely nice, the owner (The Ugly Asian Man) is extremely rude and racist. After ruining the buttons on several of my dress shirts, I shouldn't have been surprised that one of my shirts would get damaged. I dropped a batch of white shirts off one day, and when I picked them up, they had some mysterious yellow spots all over the shirts. After bringing them back, the spots were removed from one shirt, but a few remained on the other. The Ugle Asian Man told me it was my fault, and asked me what I was going to do.

This was not the first time he and I exchanged words. In our last confrontation (which again was over some missing buttons on my shirt), he told me the dry cleaning tag that was left on the shirt was not his, and that he did not clean the shirt. He was later corrected by his employee that it was indeed the tag from his shirt.

I will now drive across town and pay more money to have a quality job done on my clothes then to patronize the business of this racist fool.

In my opinion edgewood carryout has the best soul food in washington dc anyone who reads this should come and check it out they sell bakechicken bake turkeywings bake meatloaf beefshortribs all smothered in homemade gravy they also sell barbecue ribs and chicken in the best barbecue sauce in the world and they have the best breakfast from scrapple to cornbeekhash to salmoncakes to smothered porkchops and smotheredchicken homefries apples hotcakes frenchtoast and much more so if youre in the area go and check it out

I'd been a happy customer for over 15 years with not a single complaint - have literally spent thousands of dollars there. I went to pick up a pair of pants that I'd brought there for hemming... and when I tried them on with the new hem right there in the store, they didn't fit properly anymore. The owner would not make a single concession to the $20 charge - even after I offered to pay the entire dry cleaning cost and split the actual hemming charge with them. That would have cost them exactly $6.00. She kept saying that it wasn't the seamstress's fault. I never said it was, just that one of the legs had literally changed shape since I'd left it there for hemming. I asked if she'd make a simple gesture to a longtime customer in the interest of customer service. She refused repeatedly as I negotiated calmly and steadily, even asking her what she would think was fair if she was the customer. At one point, she told me that the human body was a little different on each side and that maybe that accounted for the problem. Ridiculous! In the end, she wouldn't move and I realized it was more important to her to be right than it was to admit that even just possibly her business had erred. Since it wasn't important to me to be right, I just quietly left the store, disappointed. Now I have to have the pants redone somewhere else, at additional expense obviously. I asked her if it was worth probably losing a customer over $6.00 and by refusing to make even the simplest gesture - not even an apology! - she basically indicated that yes, it was. Wow. I don't trust that they now wouldn't ruin my clothes on purpose. So I'm going elsewhere but thought readers should know that if there's a dispute with this establishment that they refuse to admit, you lose; no apologies, no negotiation, no exceptions.

I like the way that this caterer labels sandwiches so that I would know the difference between a chicken salad sandwich and a tuna salad sandwich. Kudos!

If you live in Crystal City (especially in the underground) this place is great. For me, they have been almost nothing short of perfect. Ironing is crisp, stains are marked upon drop off and request, workers are friendly, and they are open on weekends. My two small complaints are that the workers speak marginally okay english, and they have a credit card minimum (it's been awhile but I remember it being $5 which is about average, but not allowed by the credit card companies that provide their card processing equipment.)

Worst cleaner I've been to in a long time. They claim that they do not get stains out of the shirt unless the stain is on the inside of the collar or inside of the cuffs. Stains anywhere else is going to cost you $3.95 (as of december '07). The lady who is always working there doesn't speak english, nor is she very friendly.  Oh, and if that's not enough they have a credit card minimum of $10!  This isn't even allowed by the credit card companies at all!

I took some shirts there and got them back with stains in them. Now that they have been washed, they are probably set for the life of the shirt, and they refuse to do anything about it. I have never heard of a cleaner charging extra to get stains out.

Thanks for ruining my shirts World Cleaners 2.

I ordered a birthday cake from Furin's for my daughter's birthday and was mortified with the results. I have been a loyal customer for years, so I was shocked when the cake I ordered and payed $73 for was not edible! I truly believe the problem resulted from the food coloring and the frosting not being mixed properly. The result was a frosting that not even my 3 year old would touch. What an embarrasment for my family in front of all of our guests. The response from Furin's was just as bad. Someone promised to call me back after a little investigating and have heard nothing in almost a week, not even an apology. Shows how much they value loyal customers..I have even referred several of my friends. Now I am sending out this warning, be careful when dealing with this company. When they're good, they're good, but when they're not, they're just AWFUL!!! I have never tasted a cake as bad as the one I got! And since the icing was on the outside and in between the layers, it was impossible to salvage any of it. I received a horrible product and horrible customer service. So sorry they lost such a good customer. If they would have at least gave the illusion they cared, I may have overlooked this incident and given them another chance, but not after the way this situation has been handled! Very Disappointed!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE
unbelievable experience. Ordered $1700 silk wedding dress in July 2006, was to
be delivered in Dec so my daughter could have fitting during Xmas break. Dress
arrived 2/17 and there are multiple patched holes in the skirt (remember silk)
and pin holes in the silk bodice. Nancy-the owner, refuses to refund, wants to
get a replacement dress.

1) first dress took 7 months to get, no guarantee of redelivery (takes 4-6 weeks
to get fabric from company because they have to get it from overseas)
2) no confidence in manufacturer's quality if they sent dress with holes
3) Nancy checked dress in on Friday 2/17 afternoon and had my salesperson call
me for credit card payment that day and salesgirl noticed holes when she was
packing for shipment. Nancy then admitted she knew there were holes!

This Dj had everything I wanted as far as music, the company was prompt professional and really understood how to move a crowd. Highly reccomended
