To those people who say that you can't go wrong with Thomas. I am a very superstious person and Thomas was an unlucky name during the Tudor era. Here are a few examples:
Thomas Wolsey-Died after being arrested
Thomas More-Beheaded for High Treason on Tower Hill for denying the validity of the Act of Succession & the Oath of Supremacy(I regret this one because he was a good loyal friend).
Thomas Fitzgerald, Earl of Kildare, 1537. Governor of Ireland, renounced his allegiance to Henry & attacked Dublin castle. He and his five uncles were hanged, drawn & quartered at Tyburn.
Thomas Cromwell, Earl of Essex- Attainted for Heresy and treason. He was privately executed at the Tower.(I regret this one. he was a loyal servant but he arranged my marriage to Anne of Cleeves and had too much enemies).
Thomas Culpepper, December 1541. Beheaded at Tyburn for having an affair with Catherine Howard. I regret that I didn't have him hanged, drawn instead.
Thomas Crammer-My Mary had him burned at the stake for Heresy.
Thomas Wyatt (the younger)-I think he was hanged, drawn, and quartered for his plot againist Queen Mary l.
Thomas Seymour, 1549. executed for treason-He should have his tiny hotdog cut off for what he did to Elizabeth l.
Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk, June 1572, executed for role in attempt (Ridolfi Plot) to overthrow Elizabeth in favor of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Thomas Percy, Aug 1572, Earl of Northumberland, beheaded for treason.
Sir Thomas Salisbury-executed for high treason for his role in the Babington Plot. My Bess order the entertainment to be prolonged.
Update: Edward and Henry are good names for boys.
