Excellent detergent. Comparable to Tide. Less is more. You can't use too much of these heavy duty detergents or you'll end up with very soapy laundry and it won't be as clean as it could be. Half the cap works great on a normal load.

Cleans much better than Arm & Hammer and Purex. Era is good but I got so tired of smelling this detergent. Something about the very sweet fragrance got to be annoying.

I will never buy this detergent again. It doesn't leave the clothes smelling that clean. I used the liquid. When I see it in the aisle, I know to move right past it.

I have allergies to pretty much everything and Sun laundry soap and cuddle soft softener are the only ones I can use and it is good that there isn't a lot of sent as that is the biggest part of my allergies. Thank you for making my life a lot easier and pocketbook friendly.

Gain Original Fresh laundry detergent (both powder and liquid) USED TO SMELL GREAT!!!!!!!!

However, they have changed it by adding something called FreshLock. This is supposedly added so the scent lasts longer. However, it has changed the original scent entirely - YUCK!!! They've fixed something that wasn't broken & I hope enough people stop using it that Gain will consider going back to the original. I know I certainly won't be using it again. There was no reason to try to make the scent last any longer than it originally did. I've had clothes that have been stored for the season
that had been washed in the old Gain & they smelled just as wonderful when I took them out as they did when I put them away.

Please Gain - reconsider.

I have not used Tide for over a year now and no longer have orange stains on my clothes after washing like I did when I used liquid Tide with acti-lift. The only reason I am writing now is I still get angry over all the clothes Tide ruined. I am sure the reps are still saying there is nothing in the product that can cause staining, but how do they expalin the many complaints they have had about the same thing? I have read all the good reviews and am glad Tide is doing well for those people. Maybe it is a reaction to the water in some areas or some kind of body chemistry of some people that causes the staining when mixed with the liquid Tide.

This is by far the best fabric softener I have ever used. Is is safe for all fabrics and all machines. It actually works and it does not bother our sensitive skin or my sensitive nose even though it has a definite fragrance. I can only assume it does not bother us because there are not a lot of other chemicals in it. It is mainly sugar and bentonite, but it works great. Cloths come out of dryer fresh smelling, soft, and with very little static. In fact the only time I have a static issue is if I over dry my clothes and the static doesn't last long. I will continue to use this fabric softener for as long as they make it.

With the economy being not quite so hot and everyone being on a tighter budget, including myself, I recommend either this or Purex for your laundering needs. It works well and the price is right.
