A classic beauty. Everyone who used it loved it. It was simple, reliable, accurate to half a mile, and threw a big heavy 11g bullet. You could field strip it in seconds with your eyes closed. What's not to like? Ok, it was two pounds overweight, big deal.

Instead of simply rechambering the M1 for 7.62, a committee tried to improve it. They didn't improve it, they made it rinky-dink. The only improvement was replacing the clip with a proper magazine. Three shot burst mode was a waste of the second and third rounds. Removing the front handguard was a PITA for drill and invitation to hand burns. The flash suppressor made it more vulnerable to damage. They could have improved it with lighter weight or higher muzzle velocity, but they didn't.

A pleasure to fire because it stayed on target without jumping around. It was a reasonable shoulder weapon in spite of its 22 lb weight. It was capable of firing a qualifying 190 on a rifle range in single shot mode. Its flaw was time consuming maintenance.

It had too limited firepower to be used as a machine gun. Strong recoil and mediocre accuracy made it undesirable for shoulder fire. Other flaws were non-changeable barrel and high maintenance due to clunky WW I design. I was glad to see it replaced by the M60, which was a real machine gun AND good for shoulder fire. They weighed the same 20-22 lbs. I never liked the BAR or knew anyone who did.

It's a defensive weapon, good for hosing down the area long enough to escape. It looks good in pictures. Use a rifle if you want to actually hit the target.

For additional authenticity in a display, tape two magazines upside down.

Many people likes only a weapon that has Very high accuaracy and Very high damage so if you want Damage go to inaccurate weapon if you want Accuracy go to weak weapons those who have low damage. weaker weapons are suitable those who can,t hit an enemy with your strong weapons, Don,t say !@#$ To strong weapons because your hand is not strong enough to get high accuaracy.

Not too shabby! It may be my imagination, but I remember this thing being way louder than my AK...

I'd love to have something that used 5.56 and 7.62 over-under, but that's probably a silly idea. Do they make an underbarrel shotgun for the AK?
