I agree, salt does make food certain food taste a lot better. I like adding salt foods like mash potatoes, collard greens, and use it in corn bread ingredients. To much salt cause some people high blood pressure and they have to be careful to watch their intake of the amount they will use.

Salt is absolutely brilliant when cooking, it totally brings out the flavours in food and does it immediately.

If you cooking something like a tomato sauce for pasta, try a spoonful of your sauce then as soon as you season with the salt try it again, you can taste the difference straight away, it's amazing how quickly it works!

I love the smell of garlic when it is cooking and I love the smell on your fingers after you have finished chopping it.

Has anyone tried black garlic? I am yet to try it as they have only just brought it out in my local supermarket.

Apparently it is 'aged' and 'fermented' regular garlic and this process makes it black. It is supposed to have a milder taste than regular garlic with a hint of balsamic flavour. It's also got twice the anti-oxidants of regular garlic so is better for you and apparently doesn't give you bad breath. Not sure I believe that last bit though until I try it.

I love cinnamon.

It's a perfect fall and winter seasoning and it goes well with many foods and drinks.

It adds good flavor to different meats.

It's also quite effective against vampires, I heard. Pepper spray in one pocket, garlic spray in another, and breath freshener spray in another. Just don't confuse the three.

I've always had a personal aversion to curry. It's one of those things that simply didn't "grow on me", like root beer.

It's not to say that I would belittle anyone who eats curry, but to me, it just smells like rank ass with sake farts.

I was the Curry Monster when I was overseas. The other Marines even had me guinea pig food for them to see if it was too hot to eat in Thailand. I think I stumbled on to the legendary Ghost Chili in one of the things I tried.
