I went to the one in Toronto.

They overcharged everything from the parking to breakfast. I have strong suspension that their Lindt Chocolate is stale. No, I would not go back.

No way I love this neighborhood and wouldn't move to tribeca or west chelsea or the wv for anything. So much character, cool new restaurants and bars opening at lightening pace. Ok it's gentrifying like crazy and in 10 years is going to be another East Village.. but the EV's not so bad.

Yes there's public housing here but also in Nolita and Tribeca, just don't go near it if you don't want to!

This is a pretty interesting part of town, a little more gentrified than it used to be when I first saw it over three decades ago. Lots of bars, some of them very good, most of them mediocre and a few downright awful. Same for the restaurants although less of them are awful. There are several galleries and eclectic stores in the area, although the flight of the iconic Elliot Bay Bookstore to an uptown location hurts.

I like my cities to have a bit of an edge, and Pioneer Square has that, particularly at night, without being actively menacing.

I really like Ocean Beach, because it's great for swimming and surfing. It has a great vibe to it. While I sucked at my few attempts at surfing, it's fun to watch the surfers. As Magellan mentioned, the beach has a great spot for your pooch.

It's been 10 or 15 years since I've been in San Diego, but I remember a restaurant my friends and I visited more than once in the Little Italy section that specialized in "Sicilian" cuisine. Unfortunately, the name of the establishment escapes me (it probably isn't still in existence, truth be told). The staff was very friendly, and the food was very good and satisfying, although it wasn't reminiscent of the Sicilian cuisine I used to get in NY or NJ. Then again, I never really ate Italian cuisine anywhere on the West Coast (or anyplace else in America with the possible exception of an Italian restaurant outside of Chicago) that was remiscent of what I used to get on the East Coast (NY/NJ specifically). Sometimes the food was good enough, occasionally even very good, as in the case of the place in San Diego, but it wasn't comparable to what I grew up eating. Ironically enough, perhaps the best Italian food I ever ate out that way was at a restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico. It was a simple dish--- pasta and seafood, and it was delicious. Then again, I was drunk as a skunk at the time, and starving, so maybe my perception is a little bit skewed.

I like pretty much anything Italian so I was pleasantly surprised when I ran into Little Italy. There's not much to it, though. It's on India from about Date to Hawthorne. There are a few restaurants and bakeries that look promising, and a couple markets.

Seems like a great area to live. Without the hustle of the city, but it's just a couple miles away. The Key Arena and Space Needle are either in this district or right next to it, I walked to Key arena in 5 minutes and the Space Needle in 10. It's a somewhat yuppy, expensive place, but nothing over the top. Some great restaurants, coffee shops, and very nice apartment buildings ahd homes.

Rating on livability, not tourist destination. Cow Hollow is a relatively small neighborhood, on the downhill between Pacific Heights and the Marina. It starts at about Green and goes West to Lombard. North South, it runs from about Franklin to the Presidio. It's a very clean and safe neighborhood, and it's portions of Fillmore and Union streets have some great coffee shops, restaurants and boutique shops, and lively nighlife making for a lot of foot traffic. The area gets knocked for being yuppy, but not nearly as much as the Marina. Again, to live it's great, especially if you are active as it's a short jog to the Presidio and Chrissy Field.

You can get some great views in Pacific Heights, in the apartments and walking down Broadway or Pacific and checking out the Bay. It's absolutely beautiful. It's my favorite district to live in too, kind of upscale, very clean and I love Fillmore Street which is filled with restaurants and coffee shops.
