My friend was recently in Pittsburgh and picked up a case of bottles of Yuengling Lager. It was OKAY, but definitely not one of my favorites. However, if it was available locally I would definitely put it in the rotation. The build-up to this one was a killer, after hearing so many good things about it over the years. It unfortunately came slightly short of where my subconscious mind had put it, but still a solid 3 star beer.

great lager, a bit hoppy. beats many others. would like to fill swimming pool with it and do hundred laps with cake hole open. at least its not yet another generic beer with a trendy marketed name & label etc... five stars and all that.

I am from Oregon. Took a trip this year to DC and had this the first night we were there. Then the second and third. I am obsessed which is funny since I don't drink beer, thats my husbands doing. I have looked all over the internet to get some but no such luck. I would love to know if someone has any beers in Oregon that are similiar. I love the smooth aftertaste.

My favorite brew, its smooth and tasty, nothing like bud or coors. Its cheap and the oldest beer in the country. Thumbs up!

I agree with Charlie. I am lucky enough to be from PA where the beer is readily available. The Yuengling family does have a brewery now in Tampa. A lot of people in my area were actually angered when they opened the second location. I however don't agree with being that selfish, I would like everyone to be able to enjoy the beer. If you can get your hands on it, I would definately recommend it. If anyone is ever in the Pottsville area, take a tour of the brewery. It's the oldest one in the States, it's very interesting, and the people there are extremely friendly. You can tell they take pride in their product.

Personally im not a huge beer fan, but i really like this beer. It actually has taste unlike Budweiser or Miller. But it isnt really heavy and not as bitter as some of the Micro stuff. I definitely wish that they sold it where i live.

I don't normally drink Lagers, but I will sometimes find myself actually buying this. It has a nice full flavor for a Lager, and goes down pretty Easy. I especially like it with a little salt. Has a bit too much carbonation to Warrant any more stars though.

While I prefer Yuengling Black & Tan, I appreciate the comfort of ordering "a lager" in southeastern Pennsylvania and knowing I will get served Yuengling Lager. It is inexpensive, but has much more flavor than the big-name American brands. The characteristic after-taste is what prevents me from giving it 5-stars--which is why I prefer the Black & Tan (a mix of Yuengling lager and porter).

Although this is my hero-Mark Linn Baker's favorite beer, I unfortunately have to say that it's just an 'okay' beer to me.

A wonderful beer, the equal of super-premiums costing twice as much. Not available in Massachusetts yet, but I drink it when I can.

A pretty good beer, especially for the price. I'm kind of surprised they don't charge more.

My personal favorite Lager! Darker and heavier than most American Lagers, has a malty tatse that's fuller bodied than most, with alot of flavor, and goes down really smooth. Tastes bests when poured into a glass and is excellent with food!

This is very good for a "economy" beer.  It actually tastes like a true lager.

a for a large american brewery it is good. Not my favorite by anymeans, but it is the only american brew I enjoy that a typical college drinker would recognize.

Are you kidding me? This is a time proven beer of solid German heritage with outstanding taste and no bitter after-taste. It's best from the tap in a tall schooner as opposed to the sometimes skunky bottle variety. Anyone who drinks Bud instead of Yuengling lager is really missing out. Hands down the best beer for your buck. Lager gets four out of five stars.

Enjoyable yes. I was let down though, maybe because I was expecting too much based on the opinion of a couple of Ohio fucktards that jizz all over themselves about it.

A great beer with food. Has been described as a "meal" in itself. Can only drink 3 or 4 because it is a filling beer. If you like Bass Ale, you'll love Yeungling Lager.

Yuengling is here in PA and I must say it's overrated. I dispute the claims that it has no aftertaste. It tastes like wood and if I drink enough I feel it.

It was my beer of choice when I spent some time in Philadelphia. I wish this beer was more widely distributed. I know other people here in the midwest who would buy it.

What kind of beer is this? It sounds too fancy for a all American male such as myself. This sounds like a beer popular in Europe or something. Give me a bud dudes!

Real beer, but pretty insipid once you develop a taste for microbrew. Still, lots better than Bud, Coors, and such excuses for beer.

Yuengling is the real deal. World class beer from Pottsville, PA. As a PA boy, I can safely say that not many world class things come out of Pottsville, but Yuengling is the exception.
