Your resume

Wow. I would never even think of doing this. I know my company checks resumes, I hear people lie on resumes all the time. Why? Lies like this will come back to bite you in the ass.

Lie on my resume? No way!! In fact, with every resume I send out, I like to include a pair of 3D Glasses issued by John McCain sunglasses. That's right potential employers are blown away when they put on the JM 3D glasses when they look at my resume. Employers go through a visual-hellish experience that even Timothy Leary or Timbuk 3 couldn't imagine. In fact, each pair of 3D glasses is further enhanced by the John McCain autograph on the left and right lens.

haha at one point it needed a little padding. Some fibbing involved but nothing out there. Not much need for that anymore.

Never lied on a resume. I have no intention of fooling anybody to think something about me I am not.

They pretty expect you to lie a little lol.  Or maybe just stretch the truth lol.  Resumes are made to butter yourself up. I admit I have done it more then once.  Only stuff like periods of unemployment,  and guess what,  I got the job. lol  I think the majority of us at sometime or other have lied about something on our resumes.  Not that I preach it.

No way...that can only get you into trouble.

Never had a resume so why lie.And I wouldnt anyways because I think they would find out if I did something bad that I said I was good at.

I'm too arrogant.  If someone has a better resume than me and is a better interview than I don't deserve the job.  Never saw the point in lying on a resume.

This is probably the one time where you are almost expected to, if not lie, than at least embellish your qualifications and experience. Never put down anything that you can't back up, because you just never know when you'll be called to produce.

It's not lieing , it's making the truth a little bit too colorful and no I haven't had to do that.

I've very mildly overstated the power I had, but only by omiting that all my whims needed approval from others.

Oh come on folks....I will rearrange, extend time at certian jobs, add skill set to certian jobs...do whatever I need to do to be prepared for the specific interview. I will do the homework needed so that all the questioning in the world is prepared for too so I dont seem like I'm searching for answers. In my world your using your skills of communication and perception to get a job. Lying on a resume or a interview to an extent is neccessary in most cases. Its one of those grey areas that you experience in life. When Ive got the job afterwards (I remember twice in 30 years not getting offers based on 2nd interview and never have failed to get a 2nd interview) I dont feel That I really lied, I feel like I "aced" an interview and was awarded the job because of it. Im in Sales I sell myself, and selling is rarely about the total truth, it is about perceptions.

The reason is usually because the person is either not qualified enough for the job or hasn't gained enough experience and when the latter happens I often have to ask prospective employers that they have to start somewhere so why not be the first to let them have that experience?

Interviewer: So, I see here you went to Brown. So Did I! Frogio: Gee, uh, wow...cool.. Interviewer: Do you remember our ol' motto. Frogio: Ummm...What can Brown do for you? Interviewer: OK, then..let's just keep this resume on file... Frogio: (Damn it. I should have said Stanford. Anybody with a tree for a mascot can't be all that bright)

Never really needed a resume, in my line of work you get jobs by word of mouth. You leave one place for another in the same business. Its a tight knit group of people for the most part.

I just posted about this; saying that I needed to "re-think my resume" and for clarification, I certainly didn't mean I would outright lie on it. I simply meant that I would mark which jobs were temp. jobs so they would understand why I was only employed for a month. I think that lying on your resume is terrible

Unfortunately, this happens and eventually, it will come back to bite someone in the butt.
