Meine alter Ego, to be sure. Arguably the late-great Mel Blanc's best voice characterization, other than that for Foghorn Leghorn ("Ah, say - ah, say...").

Here is one of my favorite characters! This guy was a man after my own heart. He had more psychological defects than an entire textbook of psycho-babble!

I love this guy. Not the sharpest tool in the shed and far from being a model of successful anger management, he is unfailingly hilarious.

He cussed, had a bad attitude, short temper and guns....and yet I'd still encourage my kids to watch him over some of the crap cartoons that are on these days.

The best foil Bugs ever had. Really liked the one where Sam is in the Foreign Legion and another where Sam was a pirate and Bugs does his usual number on him. Great stuff.

Yosemite Sam is a funny character. It's even funnier to watch Bugs kick his butt!

What makes this guy so funny is that he thinks hes so hard and hes so not. You only have to look at his over-sized hat, over-grown goatie and tiny boots to see that no-one can take him seriously, not even as cowboy. Even with his voice theres still that edge of mocking as its manly to a certain extent peppered with some very funny comedic octaves especially when he gets really mad.

A notch below Taz and Marvin the Martian, but still very endearing.

Yosemite Sam. . the roughest, toughest, meanest hombre who's got ya outnumbered, one to one. He's played some real characters in the past: the Arab who found footy-prints all over his clean desert, the Hessian without aggression, the Confederate who had "awduhs from Gen'ral Lee to hold the Masey-Dixey Line. . .an' no Yankee's a-crossin' it!," Bugs' political opponent in the mayoral contest. . .you know, the one where he asked Bugs, "Can ya play a pie-an-uh?," Bugs' mountain-climbing opponent who always fell back to the bottom of the mountain and the annoying band would strike up the music, and countless other "baddies" too numerous to mention in detail. He was rather funny (and funny-looking) but, boy, watch out if you crossed him! I loved it whenever he would lose his temper: "OOOOOH!!! I HATE THAT RABBIT!" and would stomp around and throw his hat down in utter frustration. It never failed to crack me up. A classic baddie who was a perfect foil for Bugs.

Yosemite Sam did pretty good in a lot of his cartoons. the best one was when he had to share his cabin with Bugs Bunny. He is always trying to get at Bugs Bunny. He is also funny with his western accent.

I have always liked the cartoons with Yosemite Sam. the small temperamental man. who was another foil to Bugs Bunny. One of the cartoons I liked best was when he tried to get Bugs to play a rigged piano that would explode when a certain key played. Of course Sam ended being the one who struck the piano key instead.

The Rootinist, Tootinist, Shootinist. The Hessian skit was the best in my book though. Here Bugs nearly meets his match, great plotting, and scheming by two superior toons. That and his bit with the camel was hilarious. Whoa camel, I said Whoa. Come to think of it he had the incident with the elephant too, he probably should have stayed away from animals all together.

Yosemite Sam is likely my favorite of Bugs' foils... perhaps it is because Yosemite Sam has absolutely NO sense of humor. Sam is a very serious-minded cartoon character, who doesn't like any nonsense, meaning he and almost any other Warner Brothers' character would clash. And who's Sam usually paired with than the wise-crackiest of all, Bugs Bunny? Of course Sam hates Bugs' attempts at humor, as well as Bugs' attempts at foiling his often "evil" plans. Yosemite will never understand why others find him funny, though....

Yosemite Sam is kind of a bad-ass. I mean here's a guy fresh from the Western frontier, six-guns at his side. Nobody but Bugs could get by with tormenting a character like that. Mickey Mouse wouldn't last ten minutes. And one shot is all it would take Yosemite Sam to pick Woody Woodpecker right out of the sky.
