We called up the XM service department to ask about a lifetime subscription on 2 of the subscriptions that we had. We had a third subscription that we purchased as a lifetime service, but that account was not part of the inquiry. They said they would look it up. We were left on hold for a while and they hung up on us. When we called back we found out we were subscribed, without permission, to a lifetime subscription on both accounts. They charged our credit card without permission. They said they could fix the problem. The money would not be refunded for at least ten business days. A few days later we discovered that they had canceled both three year subscriptions! The subscription we had through 2012 was terminated and we had to call the department to try to straighten out the problems. We were told we could sign up all over again and pay the hookup fees but that is all they could do. Then they canceled the 2 subscriptions we were inquiring about, but kept a lifetime subscription w... Read more

Stay away from XM! I was a loyal customer for years, but that has changed. Their customer service is horrible now. I have been trying since Jan 10 to fix the problems thier billing department has caused with my account. You cannot trust what they tell you. Even when you have them repeat back what you just told them to make sure they understand, they still get it wrong. Being on hold for an hour every time you call them is not unusual. Happened to me at least 6 times since Jan. Plus, thier system always seems to "updating." If you are trying to work through something with the customer service rep and the system randomly goes into update mode, then anything they had just done to fix the problem does not go through and you have to call back and start from square one. Plus, you have no idea when thier system will not be updating, so it's a crap shoot as to if your call will be successful or not. On just one call, they kept me on hold for 45 min just to tell me, sorry, call back later, our... Read more

do not attempt to do business with these folks. They lie to get your money & tell you "too bad" when you have a problem. They even charged my card without permission and couldn't say why. There is NO customer support and they don't care if you try nicely to reach compromise. Clearly they have no respect for customer satisfaction. Management obviously instructs the employees to screw the customer if you can. There are no other service providers so they have no competition to keep them honest. Absolutely the worst I have ever been treated regarding very simple issues

After two years of XM as a subscriber..... Pro: XM Radio quality and programming are absolutely fantastic! I am a talk/news radio fan - great choices. Old time radio programming is a real joy when we travel. I think most people will be thrilled with the programming for the reasonable costs of a subscription. Con: Customer service is perhaps the worst I have ever seen in any industry. As a senior executive with 20 years leading Fortune 500 companies... I would terminate any manager allowing the level of customer response I have experienced from XM Radio. I communicated in English. XM support communicated in English. But their responses had no relationship to my queries. I tried to resolve an issue using online customer support, the link did not work, I emailed support, they responded that I could use the non-functional link. Summary: Excellent product value. However; allowed poor level of service typically indicates that individual customers are taken for granted.

My son gave me this for father's day, and so far I'm enjoying the baseball coverage. The music selection is nothing special, the comedy is mediocre at best, and the "old time radio" is kind of fun. Their blues channel isn't great, but its not bad either, and a decent thing to have on when I don't want to think too much about selection. The strength, for me, is the MLB coverage which is excellent, and takes me back to my childhood when baseball always seemed to be on the radio on the weekend. Personally, if I can't be at the game, I prefer it on radio to television.

They know they have the system and will not work with anyone. I've had problems tring to get both my radios on the same billing cycle and getting a radio replaced and it's always "to bad so sad" for me

The only downside is their customer service, took me 3 times to deactivate an old radio and properly activate a new radio.

I bought Sirius this year. I was skeptical at first having to pay for radio but boy was it worth it. I was tired of having only one channel in my area with music that I liked and tired of waiting for the commericals to end. I now love Sirius and haven't listend to FM since. No commercials on any of the music channels, NFL, NHL, NBA, and NASCAR in 2007. Dang...I sound like a commercial. The only downside to Sirius is deciding what to listen to. For $12 bucks a month, well worth it. I bought Sirius for the coming of Howard Stern at the end of this year. I still would subscribe anyway even if he wasn't coming. Terrestrial Radio, in my opinion, will be obsolete in a couple of years.

Absolutely great! Great programming, great service, and less expensive than Sirius. Have one in the house (Ski-Fi) and one in the car. Highly recommend.

Why listen to commercials when there are none on Sirius?
