Sun Sep 21 2008Having lived on beacon hill since Wish opened I feel that I have given the store more than a fair chance to change my opinion of it. However, I have to say, the customer service is the worst I have experienced in Boston. Honestly if you're not a size 2 or enter the store somehow proving that you're willing to spend hundreds of dollars on the spot, the salesgirls could care less that you're even in the store. I've never felt so uncomfortable and unwanted from employees of a store, never felt so uncomfortale just browsing, there is a lot of merchandise in a small space, one would expect that they are used to people taking their time to look though all of the different items, yet I constantly feel rushed, uncomfortable and unwanted. I would suggest taking all your business two doors down to Holiday. Much more unique clothing, unblievable customer service, friendly and helpful sales staff, never seem to mind browsers instead of buyers. Two vastly different shopping experiences.

Sat Feb 23 2008I was recently at Wish in Beacon Hill and was shocked at how different the store looked and felt. Not only did it look beautiful but the staff was warm and welcoming. When I inquired about the changes I was told that it was under new ownership. In fact, the new owner had just left when I came in but I look forward to meeting her to let her know how happy I am to see Wish looking so great! Love this store!!

Wed Dec 05 2007Wish is a great clothing store. The clothes are all beautiful and well made. All of the store's clothing is on the PULSE of casual fashion - not surprising since the clothes designed by some of the best in the fashion industry such as Rebecca Taylor and Milly. Many of the stores fashions can be seen being worn by local celebs. This a VERY COOL PLACE. Everyone LOVES WISH The girls who work in Wish are most help and courteous and they always look fashionable and elegant. Once you shop at Wish, you will never shop anywhere else because you will love this store so much. Nancy

Thu Aug 16 2007i have given this store several benefit of the doubts and every time i have my doubts and ask myself why did i even go back? Right from when you walk in the little door you feel very uncomfortable with the staff peering at you. In addition, they won't give you your money back for something you bought. I'm stuck with at 500 dollar credit as week speak. You can buy all the same stuff at saks, NM, there is even an amazing boutique called crossing main which takes returns. I find it completely obnox and would not recommend to anyone.

Tue Jul 10 2007I agree with all of the poor customer service reviews of this place. The handful of times I've been in the store hoping that my previous visits with bad service were flukes turned out to be the norm. The store is a boutique, so it's understandable that they can't carry a huge range of sizes, but they almost seem offended when asked if any size over a 6 was available. I used to work in a dress boutique, and unfortunately, the staff here fulfills the sterotype of the snobby boutique salespeople. Many of the brands are available at luxury department stores where return policies and service are good.

Wed May 02 2007My friend bought a size 12 dress and when it arrived and she tried it on it didn't fit right. She did not want her money back, she just wanted to exchange it for another dress. One of the many rude judgmental people there told her that maybe someone who is not "small" around the middle should not buy that type of dress, and that they would not let her exchange it. It's "Policy". What kind of business are they running that they would not honor her purchase and exchange a dress that costs over $300? Need I say more? Okay, how about Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford or anyone that's tall and / or curvy couldn't find anything in this ridiculous store. Don't shop here!

Sat Dec 09 2006The Scene Fun, trendy styles make Wish's collection a rival to any Newbury Street boutique. This Charles Street shop is home to designers like Nanette Lapore, Rebecca Taylor, Theory and Yu Jean. But these super-cute threads do carry a heavy price tag, so make sure the Amex is ready for a workout. The Goods Tiny details set these styles apart from mall merchandise. Looking for something comfortable and pretty? Pull on a Nanette Lapore black cardigan with sleeve-bottom ruffles and dainty flower buttons. Need more color in your life? Try on an orange paisley sundress or electric-blue pants by Susana Monaco. Opt for casual with cashmere sweaters and Buz Jones jeans. Go formal with a pink chiffon dress, don a pin-stripe suit, or slip into a rhinestone-detailed lavender turtleneck. Wish has a small collection of beaded and suede purses as well.

Sun Oct 29 2006After reading all of the reviews, I have to say that my experience with Wish has always been pleasant and the salespeople are always helpful. Last week, I went in there and although it was extremely busy, I noticed that the salespeople greeted everyone who walked through the door and asked everyone if they needed assistance. It is the only store which I can rely on for fun sundresses in the summer and great holiday dresses in the winter. Not to mention, they have the best selection of unique going out tops in Boston! I highly recommend to everyone!

Sat Sep 23 2006While this store sometimes has beautiful outfits that I haven't seen at other stores in the area, I wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers that the owner and staff are usually extremely cold and rude. It's made me not want to shop at this store, because it seems like they are extremely snobbish and uninterested in your business or needs.

Sat Sep 16 2006I could not agree more with some of the other reviewers that the owner and/or sales people at Wish are incredibly rude and unfriendly. I have been on several occassions - and to be honest thought it was just me that experienced the coolness of the staff. I could be the only customer in the store, and no one would even acknowledge my presence - never mind offer to help. The lack of assistance and uncomfortable, cold demeanor of the staff on every occassion I have visited the store has turned me off to ever shop at Wish again.

Thu Jun 15 2006My recent visit to Wish was very pleasant: the staff was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. They gave tactful and friendly, but honest, advice to customers, and advised them against buying clothes that didn't flatter them. The clothes are beautiful, and while they're by and large expensive, I think they're worth it. I was sorry to read the scathing reviews below: perhaps they've changed...

Tue Jun 13 2006I read the scathing reviews about the service but found the staff to be friendly during my recent visit. The shop does not carry too many size 10's or 12's forget 14 or above!!! It was fun to treat myself to a special dress.

Sat Nov 05 2005I've been to Wish a few times and have found the service to be lacking. Native Sun (Andover, Newburyport) has bigger locations and the service is outstanding. They go out of their way to help you , offer suggestions and stand behind what they sell. I miss it since I moved to Boston. They just expanded the Newburyport store and its awesome. They sell all the top brands ie Juicy, Trina Turk , Citizens of Humanity, etc....

Sun May 01 2005Wish has a nice collection of brands, but the service is AWFUL. I kept going back figuring I had just caught them on a bad day. I have finally given up - the sales staff is just plain rude. There are plenty of places to get the same brands they carry that will treat you much better. Wish needs to realize that a high-end boutique should have high-end service to match.

Sun Jul 18 2004I do think that Wish does have some nice things, but there are some significant problems with this store. The biggest is the 'not particularly rude, but rude enough to make the shopping experience uncomfortable' attitude of the help and/or owner. I tried on a number of things that I actually liked, but the attitude was such a turn-off I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere.

Wed Jun 02 2004If you buy a lot of stuff from Wish, the service is first class. However, I find that whenever I come out of the dressing room empty handed, I get brushed off and treated like I'm not worth acknowledging. I recently purchased a pair of 170.00 Susana Monaco white linen pants from Wish. When I took them out to wear for the first time, the metal hook enclosure was broken. I took them back to Wish, expecting them to fix them or refund my money (the tags were still ON the pants) and was rudely refused. I often browse in the store, since I live nearby and like to see what's new; but, I would rather crimp my hair and wear french rolled stone-washed jeans then to purchase something from this establishment again.

Thu Sep 18 2003I recently purchased a an overpriced belt at Wish which I tried to exchange. The women in the store were awful and very rude, unwilling to do anything to help me acquire a purchase I was happy with. Small shops are supposed to have good customer service, that is why people are willing to pay more to go to them. This is definintely not the case at wish. I have never been treated so badly by a sales person. I will never shop there again - and don't recommend the shop to anyone, unless you enjoy begin treated horribly. I

Mon Aug 25 2003I was looking for a dress that was posted on their website only to find that their website has not been updated since Fall/Winter 2002. I asked if they had something like the Spooner Prague dress on their website, but the woman was not interested in helping me locating somthing similiar.

Thu Feb 13 2003This is nothing more than a charade run by a poser. The designs are average at best with prices that are so over-inflated and an ignorant owner who refuses to acknowledge any issue that you may have after the sale. If you "wish" to pay way too much for drab styles of poor quality this is the place for you!

Tue Nov 19 2002Wish is a great boutique, which has a fabulous collection of unique and hard to find designers. The people who select the clothing have done a super job of providing a wide range of styles...everything from casual attire to party dresses. My only complaint with the store is that the sales staff is hot and cold. When I shop at Wish, I never know whether I'm going to get courteous, helpful salesgirls or the cold shoulder.

Wed Sep 04 2002Honestly, what did I wear before Wish opened? I know I must have worn clothes, as I have no arrest record for indecent exposure (yet), but I really can't remember where I bought my dresses. Anyway, Wish rules. There's absolutely nothing cool on Newbury St., so don't bother. Go to Wish.

Wed Aug 28 2002I could shop only at Wish and be happy. While the brands they carry are upscale and therefore pricey, they choose great styles and colors. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they make the store very homey (note the comfy overstuffed couch).

Sat Aug 24 2002I was visiting Boston earlier this year and met and fell in love with one of the owners of Wish. I found her cute dresses and accessories utterly enchanting. I was so taken with her that I propsed to her in one of the fitting rooms. She said yes!!! Oh yeah, great window displays, too.

Wed Aug 21 2002I couldn't believe the designers this little store was bringing in. I had so much fun at their trunk show. So much fun drinking champange and trying dresses on. Those girls are a riot.

Wed Aug 14 2002i am a size 10 and a small one at that....i ATTEMPT to buy something in here all the time....since i live around the corner....i am so sick of them not responding to many suggestions by myself and alot of other people to carry sizes 8-12. they say they do...but believe me its only one or two in the whole store. i have stopped sending potential customers there for that one reason... nice girls but obviously deaf.

Sat Aug 03 2002I recently went there for the first time, after hearing so much about it.. Well, I did buy something, but only because it was 50% off... I don't know if I caught them at a bad time (end of the season) or what, but the collection was quite boring.. I mean, you can probably get similar things (style, quality, etc.) in Jasmin Sola for a much cheaper price (not that Jasmin isn't pricey already)! I'd rather save my money for places like Louis Boston or Intermix where I can find more unique items if I were to pay the full price!
