Sat Dec 26 2009Windsor Ontario for dummies... Windsor Ontario is the city that could great, could be that is. But here in Windsor nepotism, cronyism and just plain corruption are a way of life. Politicians with there own interests have made Windsor a city with no goals, and certainly with no targets to reach. With that said you really have no structure to where Windsor wants to go. For example every resident of Windsor pays 40 dollar sewer fee on there water bill, even if they use 5 dollars water for the month..?? Yep they pay that because there water department can't manage the money it gets. How can you even try to use less water in Windsor and help the environment there, even if you tried it would not help? Just one example of how Windsor is backwards. The Union members of Windsor are so proud of Unions, yet shop at walmart?? Ironic isn't it... Windsor own Mayor tell residents to search for jobs elsewhere, how nice... Those of you have seen Windsor know it could be a powerhouse if it got ... Read more

Tue Feb 10 2009I was born in Windsor but have travelled 29 countries & near 300 cities, and being on the border gives Windsor advantages found little where else. In Windsor you get a city with the rare combination of low crime, walkable streets, no commute/traffic and the rest, with all the benefits of a metropolis, including world class museums, galleries, symphonies, professional sports, concerts & headliners, marathons and International Hub airport just across the river. Our community hosts north americas largest fireworks display & auto show, Formula 1 and Thunder boat races and is one of only two locations for the Red Bull Air races in all of north america... (hint, the other is not scarborough). Windsor has its' own art gallery and symphony and the most bars per capita anywhere west of Montreal. Windsor is Canadas' southernmost city & is actually south of Detroit & lies below 30% of the US states. Our county is almost completely surrounded by lakes Erie and St Clair, has lots of beaches, inclu... Read more

Fri Oct 10 2008Windsor used to be a cool place, but it isn't anymore. It is no longer the auto capital of Canada, there are no jobs and some of the people look just as scruffy as those in Detroit. Windsor is falling apart on itself. Face it, there is no hope for Windsor. These days, I don't think there is any hope for all of Ontario.

Mon Aug 16 2004Beautiful waterfront, low crime rate, vibrant downtown, charming historic neighborhoods, and a much more mulitcultural city than one would expect (Little Italy is particularly nice).

Wed Jun 16 2004About the only nice things about Windsor are the sights of the Detroit skyline and the fact that the streets are cleaner and safer and the parks greener than Detroit. But, the place revels in being the sleazy harlot for Detroit. What a reputation to cherish! Big gambling, big strip clubs and legal age 19 drinking. I heard when I was there that one strip club even advertised in the University of Windsor (used to called Assumption University before it was sold to the government years ago) student paper for young women students to rub their booty on men for tuition money. I would think the early devout Catholic French settlers would be rolling in their graves over what their town has become.

Tue Nov 16 1999Why is everyone trashing Windsor? OK, I may have a little different perspective, since I went the University of Michigan and we had an annual formal in Windsor. I'll say this: they have great hotel rooms.
