Almost a 4 star effort in the "so bad it's good" category, but from a recent listening I had a hard tiime making it all the way through.

Bizarre, but its so damn bad its a must listen. As oscar says, Shatner was actually serious about this.

Half of me says it's a 1 and the other half says it's a 5. You HAVE to hear it if you haven't yet. Basically, a world weary sounding Shatner bombastically croons the song, with some hilarious echoes and other acid rock effects while cheesy lounge singers repeat the chorus. This is not a joke, and Shatner was actually dead serious: this actually was really recorded and put on a 1969 album called "A Man Transformed," in which you can also hear his takes on things like "Mr. Tambourine Man." Interspersed with all of the lounge music meets the Age of Aquarius stuff is Shatner's reading things like scenes from Henry the 5th. This is simply through the roof in unintentional hilarity.
