Right now I'm listening to Cream's boxed set "Those Were The Days". Clapton, Bruce and Baker were a terrific power trio and are considered the first "supergroup". They were indeed super...

(I ditched my old comment altogether, due to length)   I listen to my Chocolate/MP3 player, so I don't know what's in my CD player right now. Right now, I don't know what's up with me, but I guess I'm in a mood where I'm feeling pretty stressed.  So, one song in particular that speaks to me on my player is "Won't Back Down", the Tom Petty version.  If nothing else, it pushes me to go that extra mile on that treadmill.

Best of the Box from Alice in Chains. I can be seen rocking out on a regular basis UPDATE: I just added a few worth mentioning. Phobia from Breaking Benjamin, Comatose from Skillet, and As Daylight Dies from Killswitch Engage. All are pretty stinking cool. UPDATE: These CDs are kicking my ass and I love it. The Killswitch Engage is only for people who like a fair level of screaming, but the others rock without too many brain cells slaughtered. My highlinght track is from Breaking Benjamin. The last track of the CD is a version of "The Diary of Jane" with voice, piano, and a tiny bit of strings. It stands stripped of the the guitar and drums crashing as one of the greatest songs I have ever wrapped my ears around.

"Workingman's Dead" by the Grateful Dead. Music is important to me. I have graduated to the IPod, but the old cd player still comes in handy.

I've burned my own CD recently, it's a combination of music from 50s, 60s, and 70s. There are so many good songs that painted the way for many great songs today. I think it would be a shame to just forget them, no?

Not too terribly important for me. Probably one of these: Pink Floyd "The Wall" "Songs in the Key of Springfield" (The Simpsons) "Freak Out" (Mothers of Invention) "Absolutely Free" (Mothers of Invention) "We're Only In It For the Money" (Mothers of Invention) or a Beatles album. I highly recommend the above albums, by the way.

ROONEY's self-titled disc (Blueside and Stay Away are classics; the rest are poor); Weezer's GREEN ALBUM (Hash Pipe is a throat-rippin' thrill); Matthew Sweet's GIRLFRIEND (all 15 tracks are perfection personified); Sugar's COPPER BLUE (the best CD of 1992 that nobody heard); Sloan's SMEARED (Underwhelmed is Nova Scotia's finest 5 minutes); Faith No More's THE REAL THING (a teeth-grinding good time); and Veruca Salt's EIGHT ARMS TO HOLD YOU (the final gasp of a promising band). These compact discs rattle around in no particular order, and I'm always on the lookout for anything loud and smart.

Right now, a compelation cd of classic/current rock tunes put together by my bass player. Its got some good stuff that you dont hear bands do like Kenny Wayne Shepherds Somehow, Somwhere,Someway(2001) and The old hit by The Babies (John Waites first band in the early 70's) Midnight Rendevous. Were Updating music and this is how I start drilling lyrics into my mind.

currently? a lot of Dylan. a cross between a few of his better 1980's albums (Infidels and Empire Burlesque) and the early 1990's folks resurgence (good as I been to you, World Gone Wrong) and New Morning.
