This was a film that really surprised me. I wasn't expecting it to me as good as it was. The action didn't really pick up to the end, but it did keep you on your seat during the last half hour. I know the girls I saw the movie with definitely screamed twice while in the theater. Thats a good test for a thriller.

The film's was OK but anything with the luscious Ms Pfeiffer is worth watching.

This movie gets a lot of mixed reviews. I really enjoyed it thought. A fun, if predictable, plot twist. Some good scares and just entertaining.

This movie kept me on the edge of my seat, and it wasnt because there was something nasty on it. Very suspenseful, it kept me guessing until the end. Great for a cold rainy night with friends.

What happens when you throw about six Hitchcock films, a few Stephen King adaptations, and overracting by Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer into a blender? This schlock, with more false endings than any movie in recent memory.

I dont know about anybody else, but if you see this movie in the theatres, it will haunt you. This movie does a good job to get into your mind. The images were very eerie and hard to forget, the ghost was simply creepy. Also have some good scenes that make you jump. Very unpredictable, especially the ending, one of the most serious endings i've ever witnessed!

I don't believe Michelle and Harrison are the best match for this film, no 'true to nature' chemistry between them. The concept was good, it's just a pity it wasn't excercised well on screen. Good twists but just not enough 'umph' to make it a great movie.

Was this supposed to be overflowing with suspense? *looks about* It's certainly overflowing with something, but suspense it is NOT.

It was a great movie that i felt "welcome back Hitchcock". If Hýtchcock was alive he probably would give the same rating to this film. I strongly recommend this film to all psychologic-stress film lovers. Also Pfeiffer is again excellent both with her beauty and her act which gives the horror scenes double or triple effect. This film should be seen!

Despite the sometimes slow-moving pace of the film, I really thought that this was one hell of a thriller. It was not really scary, just very suspenseful and thrilling. I thought that the musical score was perfect for the film, and just made it all the more suspenseful. Yes, some parts in the middle dragged on, but in the end, it was well worth the wait. It became predictable in the last 45 minutes of the film, but I never expected quite the ending that this film provided. I have never watched a scene in recent times quite like the love scene when Pfeiffer's character discovers that her husband (Ford) was cheating on her with a student. Fine acting jobs by both Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford, espescially Ford, who truly showed his range as an actor, playing a vey different role than the "good guy" roles that he is accustomed to. He truly showed darkness both through his facial expressions and words at the end of the movie- his character just turned stone cold at the end: no emotio... Read more

Just got through watching this for the first time, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing, and a couple of genuinely scary moments. It leaves some loose threads about the neighbors strange behavior and it does get a tiny bit predictable, i.e., backing from one room to another and turning to find someone right there behind them, or closing a door only to find someone right behind it. That trick has been used a few hundred times, but it doesn't take away nor does it add to this one. The top notch acting of Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford, and a better-than-average screenplay and make this one a cut above the rest of this genre.

You would think Hitchcock came from the grave and secretly took over Robert Zemeckis' (the director's) body. This is a clever thriller that is very chilling, and, even though not original, it's still brilliant stuff. A change of character for Harrison Ford alright. Worth seeing. Summary: A CLEVER, CHILLING THRILLER THAT'S WORTH SEEING.

I love horror flicks and judge them upon this.....: If I need someone to go to bathroom w/ me cause I get to scared, it was good! Well, that didn't happen in this one, but it wasn't to bad. And I must add that the end had a twist to it that I hadn't seen before.

The build up to What Lies Beneath's climax is slow, confusing and requires more than a little patience. Michelle Pfeiffer looks hot but I don't think that would be enough for me to recommend this movie to anyone. I'll put it this way, if you've seen the trailer you've seen the movie. Entirely predictable.

Two top performances by two gorgeous performers, but this movie was very confusing and sometimes even annoying. You feel as though you'd like something more exciting to happen, something interesting. Although it is a movie for people that like solving mysteries and coming up with the question of "Who done it?"

I am disappointed at this movie. It's not scary AT ALL!!! The plot is week and Ford's acting is a joke (as usual). Pfeiffer did well tho. Still, the movie is not worth watchin.

The first three quarters of the movie are so boring. There's a lot of suspense for no action. The only real "scary" part is the last fifteen minutes when you already know what is about to happen. The only good thing about this movie is the names of the actors.

The movie is about a husband who had an affair without his wife knowing and then killed the girl. The movie has a good plot that is both scary and exciting.

I heard a lot of good things about this movie so I kind of expected it to be good. It's a thriller and has an unexpected ending. It's pretty much mysterious but the story is somewhat unrealistic. Anyway, the movie handles different themes so I liked it.

This movie was wonderful. It was full of suspense. The story was flowing and it never dragged on. Usually during most of the scary movies I've seen, they weren't as scary as I thought they would be. This movie actually fulfilled my expectations of a scary movie. It's my favorite movie as of now.

This movie was not one bit scarey - in most places it was absolutely cheesy and predictable. Unfortunately I cant give my favourite hunk, Harrison Ford, less than 3 stars - though it honestly doesnt deserve it.

Rarely does a movie hold enough suspense to draw a scream from my throat, this was an exception...and mine was not the only one heard. A script full of incredible plot twists, haunting images and a total surprise ending had me. The Hitchcocish camera angles and overall cinematography resurrected the horrors of psycho and other such films. I totally enjoyed the change from the typical roles normally played by both Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfiefer.

This is one of those movies you can see over and over again and still have the living daylights scared out of you. Not only that is that you don't know what is going to happen. The end is a real shocker and it really surprises you. I love this movie. I saw it twice already and I want to see it for a third time.

What Lies Beneath was a terrible movie which attempted to be scary but failed miserably. The movie blatantly foreshadowed everything that was going to happen, insulting the audience. The used classic techniques which gave everything away.
