Sat Mar 20 2010Water, just the word makes me thirsty. I live in Arizona where the temps rise up to 111+ degrees F in the summer. That's hot. Nothing works as well as a cold drink of water to quench my thirst when faced with these scorching days. As a kid, the only two things we ever had around to drink were water and milk, so drinking lots of water became a habit early on. I can remember my brothers pulling weeds in the soybean fields where we lived in North Carolina. I wasn't allowed to pull weeds (though I'd have liked to, they made five dollars a day each!) so my job was to get a big ol' Mason jar, carefully fill it with ice, fill it at the flowing well with fresh, sparkling water and walk it out to them three times a day. I carried that precious water as if it were worth its weight in gold. Never touching it, but cradling it in my apron or skirt, so the warmth from my hands wouldn't melt the ice, and it was shaded from the harsh rays of the sun. It was about a half mile walk. When I reached ... Read more

Sat Nov 08 2008Works well, but I'm not one of those people who walk around with a bottle of water all the time.

Sat Nov 08 2008Glacier cold with a ton of ice in it, absolutely.

Sat Nov 08 2008There is nothing better to quench your thirst than a tall glass of icy-cold water, especially after working out!

Sat Nov 08 2008I'm one of those people who carries a (stainless steel) bottle of water around with me.I know I can't live forever, but I definitely want to die before I get old.

Sat Nov 08 2008I can't knock water too much, 'cause it's a necessity and whatnot...but I find it quite hard, with everything else they give us as options, to actually pick up a water drinking habit. I've gotten into drinking flavored water just so I know that I'm getting something healthy in my body once in awhile haha (how sad!)

Fri Aug 22 2008I'm not a big fan of water. It just doesn't have enough taste in it for me...but when I've been out exercising there is nothing better than cold water...it's like the breath of life.

Sun Mar 30 2008Water is the BEST thing to quench your thirst, whether it's after a hard workout or during a meal. If you have it in your head that just isn't doing it and you're feeling waterlogged just add a squirt of lemon and your thirst will go away. I don't know what it is but it helps dramatically! Doesn't make your water taste gross either.

Tue Aug 28 2007I didn't used to care much for water, but it's very healthy and try to drink as much of it as I can.

Sat Sep 02 2006I can't drink anything without taste, even though I know that water is the best thirst-quencher, and the best flusher, and has no calories, but drinking water for me is like drinking air just filling up my stomach without actually feeling it. I have to squeeze lemon or add syrup or honey, but plain water is not working for me.

Sun Dec 18 2005Weird thing is, a secretary at my office says she doesn't like water and has to "force" herself to drink it. What's not to like?

Thu Nov 10 2005I love water i drink it all day and with all 3 meals Not to say i dont have my fair share of sodas and sports drinks, but when i want to really quench my thirst i go for a big bottle of Figi or Aquafina, even a nice glass right from the tap with lots of ice. Water simply cant be beaten.

Tue Nov 01 2005Nothing quenches your thirst like cool clean water with no chemicals.

Mon Oct 31 2005Water: goes down cold, smooth, and finishes clean...much better than any beer. ;)

Thu Oct 06 2005After a hard workout I couldn't imagine gulping down a bottle of coke to quench my thirst. It has to be a nice cold bottle of water, that hits the spot...

Fri Sep 30 2005My favorite beverage. Even better that it's free. I sit at work and drink gatorade bottle after gatorade bottle full of ice and water. It can't be beat. I love water. Not sure what compelled me to say this at this particular moment, but it had to be said.

Mon Sep 05 2005Absolutely. There is nothing like it and you can drink as much as you want to quench your thirst without worrying about the calories. It has to be ice cold spring or city water though. Well water is not good at all.

Wed Jul 13 2005I guess a nice deep draught of ice water really hits the spot on a sultry day.

Mon Feb 07 2005My wife doesn't drink between meals, but when she eats, she can drink about 8 16oz glasses of water. That's a gallon of water with ONE meal. If we go to a restaraunt, we usually have to ask them to bring us a pitcher, or we'll have our waiter running all over the place trying to keep her glass full. I know you have to discount the ice but that's still a whole lot of water. I try to spread mine out through the day, but I still probably dring water about 80% of the time. I try to drink about a gallon a day, just because of how important hydration is to one's health.

Wed Jan 12 2005Out here in the desert, it is one of the two best thirst Quenchers. I never go out 4-wheeling without water.

Tue Jan 11 2005Only when my mouth is really dry and I just want something to satisfy my thirst. A lot of times during the summer I'll wake up because of the heat so I'll just have a glass of water.
by orangecharlie
Tue Jan 11 2005The best thirst quencher there is! Nothing better than a cold glass of water. My brother-in-law serves his water at room temperature which makes me want to puke though.

Tue Jan 11 2005Adams Ale, my Dad used to say.Nothing beats water when you're thirsty:hopefully spring water or filtered,as tap water is now rather noxious thanks to corporate and private polluters.

Tue Jan 11 2005When I'm really thirsty, nothing quenches my thirst like water. The second best thing would be iced tea.
by kamylienne
Mon Jan 10 2005I'm not all that big on drinking just plain water, but as a thirst quencher, it's the most straightforward way to do it.

Mon Jan 10 2005easily my favorite beverage, nothing quenches your thirst like ice cold purified water.
by scarletfeather
Sun Jan 09 2005Very good at quenching my thirst, though I confess I didn't start drinking water until I discovered that it is conducive to weight loss. I squirt a little lemon juice in ice water to make it more palatable. I've also noticed I'm not as susceptible to skin breakouts when I drink plenty of water.

Sat Jan 08 2005You can NEVER go wrong with purified ice water -- no calories, no fat, no artifical flavors! That makes it the best natural diet drink one can find. Plus, it does great in quenching the thirst.
