Founded by Robert Palmer and Andy Taylor of the 'Power Station,' the 'Washington Post' was originally called the 'Power Station Press,' but the band was deemed catchier. Onward to my Robert Palmer review.

Better than the New York Times, although that is faint praise. Every once in a while they uncover actual news and honestly report it.

Never trust an American. Saddam Hussein was america's ally during the 80s, now he is their worst ennemy. And this is true for Ousama Ben Laden. All other arab leaders should draw the lesson. America has no real friends or allies. America believes in Interests. Thanks America.

Extremely biased liberal paper. The editorial section only post readers comments if it is of leftist slant. Always blaming the evils of the white man. I saw Post editor Kurtz on TV and he was rambling on how the government delayed deployment of aid to Katrina victims because they were black. What utter BS.

Just another ajunct to the DNC...

The best paper in the country. The Post catches stories that fall between the cracks at other newspapers and actually has good coverage of world news. It's only competition would be the NY Times or the Wall Street Journal and on that I think the Post wins hands down. Cheaper than either of them, better written, and the Sunday book section is heads and shoulders better than the Times'. Also, the post doesn't have that nasty air of snobbishness its New York competitors do. Oh and lets not forget they published the Pentagon papers when the Times was afraid to and they brought down Nixon. Sure they tilt left (there's no paper in America without an ideological tilt), but they don't give liberals a free pass either.

The post is second only to the NY Times in its biased coverage.

Are they really as objective as reporting should be?

Ultra-liberal newspaper that only gets 3 stars is because Tony Kornheiser and Micheal Wilbon work there.

For the past few weeks during my stay in DC, The Post has been my source of news, both the paper and the website, and I must say that all in all, it is a pretty good paper. I see no real biased stories printed in this paper. The news is reliable. One of the best papers for politics and international and national affairs.

3 stars for mon through sat. but 4-5 stars for an excellent sunday paper. Other reviewers claim the Post is insanely leftist- I believe it is slightly to the left but I have read far more major-city papers that are liberal. The Post is well-written and thorough. Good sports, classified, and editorial sections. One of the top 5 papers in the country. And this paper has the finest website bar none. . .

One of the few mainstream dailies worth reading. Well researched, edited and written. The droolers hate this newspaper because it is accurate and professional and is constantly exposing the American political right for what it is: a hypocritical, ill-advised, misguided conspiracy out to protect the rich and the racists at the expense of everybody else. Every day, this paper, like the NY Times, reveals the contradictions and myths of so-called "conservative philosophy" that make that political ideology so out-of-step and clueless, and as a result, the droolers attempt to discredit it. Interesting that the righties are so dismissive and deprecating when a publication shows the failures and misapprehensions of conservativism, condemning the messenger rather than being honest enough to admit the flaws of their own values. The Washington Post is the paper of record for the most dysfunction metropolitan area in the world. Demented with it's own sense of importance while it is little better than the Boomtown Driveller. It remains the last haven for pathological liars and inept English majors.

Although it leans towards the liberal sode, they do a good job of covering events.

Highest quality newspaper around. It covers everything in detail yet it is still easy to read.

I know that there is no such thing as "unbiased" journalism, but since Katherine Graham's passing, the paper seems to be trying to be everything to every one. Praises for President Bush would be unheard of in the Reagan era from such a "liberal" paper. Their "Washtech" section led us to believe that as consumers, we'd never set foot in a shopping plaza. The Post makes sure that every iota of local national and international news is covered, to the point that High School sports is given almost as much coverage as professional sports. I don't know....there is no cohesive coverage of the "War on Terrorism"...it could just be an overwhelming time for all of us, including journalists. Are we talking about reading it or using it for common household purposes?

It's quite suitable for wrapping fish, but since I rarely get a chance to go fishing, I can't find anything redeemable about the Post.

When I lived in the DC metro area I picked up a copy of the Post almost every morning on my way to work and it is one of the most interesting and informitave papers I have had the pleasure to read. My only regret is that it is so hard to get a hold of a copy in the Minneapolis area, but I do occasionly read it online.

Many people I know wouldn't consider the Washington Times to be a real newspaper. But then a lot of the most sensible people I know are forced to subscribe to both papers and read them as if they were one paper put together, because they feel that reading the Post alone tugs too hard on their personal opinions. I guess that's why the Times continues to have a fairly strong circulation, despite it's own right-slant

All that The Washington Post covers in politics, politics, politics. It's a newspaper that I raed at Barnes and Nobles a few times in Texas, and it was boring. You can get these at the grocery store, and George Bush is always on the cover. I cant stand seeing this man anymore.

A strong 5 for information and journalistic insight... -----

After the New York Times the Washington Post is my paper of choice. Well written and well put together and dealing with solid news issues, a no nonsense paper. I used to like to pick up the Washington Times on the way to work and then a guy who used to sit next to me would bring the Post and we'd swap during the day to sort of read both sides of the news.

Three cheers for Tony Kornheiser. As Jessica Rabbit used to say, "He makes me laugh." Worth the price of the Post!

My mom like to refer to the Washington Post as the Washington Compost. I tend to agree.

The Post is so unashamedly lefty it's not even funny. At the conservative Washington Times doesn't pretend to be a "paper of record".

This newspaper has outstanding writers, a strong coverage of World Events and, the best discussion of political issues of any newspaper that I have read.

There is no better source for news on politics and government. The Post also has an excellent Web site at www.washingtonpost.com - it's a great news site to bookmark.
