VoicePulse is listed under Broadband Phone service and also VoIP providers.  To give some balance to the unhappy campers below, this is the review I posted under VoIP Providers:  (There are quite a few reviews (>160) of VoicePulse and other VoIP providers on dslreports.com which will give you a clearer picture.  VoicePulse is consistently rated at the top); One full year with VoicePulse and couldn't be happier.  Paying only $15.89/mo. total for the "local" plan that includes my entire state and surrounding area codes.  200 min Long Distance is plenty for us.  Love the unlimited filters to block telemarketers, the Do Not Disturb, the call list, the 100 speed dials.  So many features the landline telcos don't even offer.  Sound quality is as good or better than a land line on my 5M FiOS.  I'll never go back to a land line.

VoicePulse How can this company stay in business? After one year of service I started having problems and my phone would not work. Voicepulse said there was a problem with my router and wanted me to contact Linksys. So I called Linksys and they said my router was working fine. Then voicepulse wanted me to contact Sipura about the adapter, so I did and Sipura said they thought the adapter was bad and for me to contact voicepulse. Now voicepulse still says it my router so I buy a new router and still the phone does not work. Now voicepulse says maybe it is the adapter and wants me to pay for a new one. This is two weeks later with no service and I was not willing to spend any more time and money on voicepulse so I requested them to cancel my service. They still charged me for the month of October while I had no service. Today I get a call from voicepulse saying I owe them over 100 dollars because my service is still active and also I have to pay for the broken adapter. Well you ca... Read more

This service is really quite bad, and I would strongly urge folks not to get locked into a 1-year contract (VoicePulse fights tooth and nail to keep you from breaking the contract). The problems with the service are threefold: (1) poor call quality and reception (echo, garbling, etc.), (2) attrocious reliability (inability to make outgoing calls or receive incoming calls), (3) poor customer service availability (only available 9-5 M-F). Customer service, while friendly, will make you jump through hoops instead of accepting responsibility for problems on their end. For example, customer service made me run 24-hour Pingplotter tests on my Linksys Wireless-G router when I complained about the call quality. I have since switched to Vonage and the call quality is excellent. And, best of all, I didn't have to run any stupid Pingplotter tests.
