VIZIO OPTIC

This place is really excellent. I originally came for glasses but realized that they also have sunglasses. I especially thought that the service was amazing. They were super friendly, not pushy, very helpful and even though I was unsure about what I needed, they wrote everything down for me and then I came back few weeks later and got the eyeglasses that I liked most. I really recommend this eyeglass store to anyone looking for a service that is several levels above the rest.

I originally wrote a review that was pretty derogatory in nature re: the pricing of Vizio's lens packages. In the end, with a discount, I ultimately love my glasses. Yes they were pricey, but they're quality. My concern with this place wasn't with the product, however, it was with the owner's policy. After writing the first review, I received an email that said, in short, since I was so unhappy, I was welcome to take my business elsewhere, and that they would be refunding my money. This was done without my instigation, but rather as a brash response to my review. I replied with "Actually, I would prefer to pick up my glasses today, as previously scheduled. But thank you for reaching out." Upon picking up my glasses, I was confronted by the doctor who said "You know why we emailed you, and said what we said, don't you?" in a condescending/scolding (yet calm) manner. I bought a pair of glasses for my husband, because the glasses are beautiful. However I've almost canceled by purchase based on how condescending and rude the staff has been.

I called to see if Vizio offered progressive contacts. I needed new progressive contacts and progressive glasses. This makes me a high-paying customer folks! The first person I asked said, "That's a really great question!" Then she told me to call back another day. She didn't know. Maybe she was new. Anyway I called back and was told that Dr. Rabkin was not taking new patients for contacts. She was for glasses but not contacts (?). Why couldn't they say this before? So I asked if I could see her for glasses. No, I couldn't. She told me not to take it personally and I understand but she just sounded way too fake-sympathetic. Then I asked if she could recommend a doctor and she started looking up surgeons. I said I didn't need a surgeon, just an optometrist who could fit me with progressive contacts and glasses. I have been a loyal customer the past two years and return again because of Galina (the best of the best). She is friendly, professional and has a great wealth of knowledge of what is best for you. As an eye doctor, she is a credit to her profession. In customer service, she ranks an A+. I travel over an hour for this service and am pleased with the final product as well.

I'm so thankful to VIZIO OPTIC - worked with both Phyllis and Dr. Rabkin. Before getting a new pair of glasses, they checked my old glasses and noticed that the PD (pupillary distance) on my old glasses was totally off... which makes sense as I was having headaches and eye strain. They spent a great deal of time with me and I found the perfect pair of cute and very comfortable glasses.. and I just went back to them to get sunglasses. They want to make sure you look great in your glasses and what a selection! Plus, they have the latest lenses. I recommend VIZIO to all my friends and family.

I shopped at Vizio Optic since beginning of 2006 and it is not only a great eyeglass store, it is a great shopping experience in all of Boston, period! I really would like to provide feedback on the last two customer comments that I read and was truly surprised to see. These two customers seemed to have a bad experience with one of the people who work at Vizio Optic. I was sad to see that because I have been a loyal customer and know the owner who happens to be an amazing person who is really nice and helpful. Now there are five or six people who work on various different days at Vizio and it was a mistake (in my opinion) for these two customers to think that the store is a bad shopping experience just because of one spoiled apple. Researching optomotrists in the Boston area from the UK prior to a 2 week holiday, I found Vizio Optic and never looked back. The exchange rate is very good for us in the UK right now and prescription eyewear of the style I was after is expensive over here. I thought I knew what I wanted until I contacted Phyllis by e-mail and the service and attention to detail that I recieved back from her was first class. I wanted RX sports sunglasses that enhance light in dull conditions predominantly for golf as I can not get away with contact lenses. I thought that the Oakley half jacket was the one for me and had I not discovered the 'Vizio Optic customer experience' then that is exactly what I would have ended up with. Vizio was able to do an almost impossible repair to my Dolce & Gabanna glasses that I purchased in Forest Hills Queens, NY, many years ago. My uber-fab D&G?s are like new again! I cannot believe the negative review I just read. I don't know what went wrong for that person, but I couldn't disagree more strongly with their comment. I went to Vizio on the recommendation of someone else who loved the store and the people working there, and my experience exceeded my expectations. Don't buy glasses anywhere else.

I had an extremely negative experience at this store. They may have a nice selection of eyeglasses but the attitude is not worth it. Nothing can replace good customer service.

As anyone living in Boston knows, good cutomer service is difficult to find. Couple that with an endless offering of mediocre eyewear retailers and searching for glasses is not a pleasant experience. I stumbled upon Vizio through an internet search and from the moment I walked in knew I'd found the real deal. Excellent service and knowledgeable, honest staff, individualized attention, the best frame selection in Boston, cool, upbeat atmosphere, and a determination to resolve whatever problem you present. Dr. Rabkin, optometrist and co-owner, gets my vote as best optometrist in the area. She is hands on and believes in what she does. I'm sold and won't waste my time elsewhere. And by the way, I wasn't asked to write a review (see above).

i was helped by the lady who works at this store and found her service to be absolutely one of the best i ever had in any shop.

Parking is NOT easy. Aside from having to pay the meter for the time they keep you're in the store, you end up waiting for the either slow staff to help. It really must vary from each day because I had an averg experience the first time I went to look at glasses. However, the 2nd time around I was very rushed by a male staff memeber & didn't end up having my glasses made there. The reviews on here are of 2 extremes & I think that we do owe the store credit for a nice store & collection, however the ratings here are of a particular population that they have most likely asked their customers to write about them. It is a pitty because I was recomended to go there by a friend who was happy with their service, but my experience was not of the same consistancy.

I was extremely pleased to discover such a modern and stylish place in the heart of Brookline village. Ths store looks very european and the selection is great! The staff is pleasant and very professional. I found a pair of Chanel sunglasses I was looking for for the longest time and I absolutely love them!

I am very surprised to read the last review from a seemingly unhappy customer??? I cannot see how someone could not be satisfied at Vizio Optic given how much effort and time they spent helping me fix a lens that I had done at another optical shop and needed really fast turnaround to get new correct lenses. My experience has been nothing but "above and beyond" and I really recommend this store to others seeking quality eyeglasses and lenses in Boston.

Staff was very demeaning when I told them I didn't like the glasses they picked for me. I'm never going back. Such a bad experience. The doctor wasn't even available even though the sign said she would be there.

I just purchased a pair of glasses here. This place is awesome. They have the widest selection of name brands and styles to choose from. The sales clerk was very helpful in assisting me to find the perfect pair that suited me. She was also very patient, since I must have tried on at least a 100 pairs before finally deciding on a pair. Anyone looking for a good pair of lenses and excellent service and quality for your money should try this place.

vizio is one of a kind. really beautiful store and truly great service. the selection of eyeglasses is by far the best of boston i learned that vizio carries the best fashion eyewear and designer brands whereas each one won an international award and accolade for design easy parking in the back adds to my satisfaction and experience at vizio :)

I used to be a Lenscrafters man, but I recently discovered Vizio Optic. The design of the store is very tasteful and the staff responsive. Dr. Rabkin was very thorough during my appointment and made me feel very comfortable. The employee who helped me search for new frames for my lenses, a charming young lady named Kristine, easily handled all of my questions and concerns by being very straight forward and honest with her answers. As an extra bonus she went through Vizio's wide selection and found a pair of JF REY that were affordably priced and easily the best looking frames I have ever owned. Co-workers have been commenting on how good they look all week. I would highly recommend Vizio Optic!

Vizio Optics has taken eyeglass buying to a whole new level. They have an excellent selection of high-end, high fashion eyewear, their pricing is unmatched, their customer service is truly impeccable and the store is bright, modern and inviting. Dr. Rabkin caught a mistake that my ophthalmologist made with a new prescription he'd written for me, and she really went out of her way to help me correct the problem. My new glasses look and feel great, and now I can actually see. Perfectly.

Hi, this is my experience at Vizio in summary: - absolutely best experience and excellent selection of eyeglasses - top rate service - great prices I got a pair of Lindberg eyeglasses and my wife got a pair of CHANEL sunglasses and Zenka eyeglasses. The selection was honestly unbelievable. We also thought that the service we got was by far the best of any store we have seen in Boston and not just eyeglass stores but any clothing or jewelry stores.

The owner is a little bit creepy. He seemed personally offended when I said I didn't like some of the styles in the store.

Guys, this place is amazing. I originally walked by the store and decided to look at their website www.VizioOptic.com to see what they carried and I was very impressed. So I came by the weekend and although I got CHANEL glasses (every real woman has to have both CHANEL eyeglasses and sunglasses...!) , I found many brands that I really loved on me. No question that I will be back for a funky weekend pair of glasses like those colorful Bellinger.

Hi all, I agree with others who wrote that Vizio is the best eye glasses store in Boston. If you are going to other wanna-be high-class eyewear shops for your glasses and sunglasses then you are really missing out. I highly recommend that you come to Vizio instead. My wife and I sincerely believe that this is the best selection of eye glass frames in the city and my wife found many really cool glasses that fit on her and she said that she did not find such glasses anywhere else. We have previously shopped at other eyewear boutiques throughout the city, on Newbury Sreet and in the best malls in Boston. But we will now only come to Vizio for obvious reasons. Go see it out if you don't believe us. We give it 4 VERY Enthusiastic Thumbs Up !!! (from both of us) :)

I've been searching for cool frames for 2 months and just walked into this store off the street. The selection of frames is really unique. They also finally fit my head (most other frames are too narrow for my head). The service was very friendly and patient. I also found out that the price for the eye exam was very reasonable. The optemetrist herself, Dr. Rabkin, was very detail-oriented and checked my prescription thrice over. I have astigmatism and usually leave my exam feeling slightly unsatisfied with my Rx, but this time, I'm sure she did the best job I've had before. After the exam, she even helped me pick out my frames. And, I got these really cool frames that noone else has. I'd highly recommend this really high-end store that has a great "mom and pop" type attitude towards service.

This store has the best selection of fashion eyeglasses and designer sunglasses. I have seen many stores around Boston and this one is an undisputed 10/10! Also, the service and help in choosing a good fit were tremendous here. It was fortunate to have discovered Vizio through a friend who bought sunglasses there and was also very happy.

I found an exceptional selection of beautiful eyeglasses that I did not see anywhere else. I also liked the selection of sunglasses so I bought a pair of Porsche for my husband and a pair of Jackie O style Beausoleil suns for myself. The service, attention and follow up call were really impressive and I was amazed at the detail of knowledge and explanation I received when I asked about different glasses and lenses. This kind of service is a rare find and the on a scale of 10, the overall grade I would give to Vizio is 10/10!

I shopped at other eyeglass stores and Vizio is simply better. I can talk about the excellent atmosphere and incredible selection but the quality of service is what really impressed me here. While true high quality eyeglasses typically hit your wallet for several hundred dollars, I found that Vizio's prices for glasses like Lindberg, Silhouette and Maui Jims (with prescription lenses and AR coatings) were on the average 30% - 50% BETTER than any of the other eyeglass stores that I visited since May. This shop was a true gem to find and I found it accidentally while browsing here on Citysearch.

I went to Vizio Optic for the first time a couple of days ago and I had a very good experience. The service is excellent and the choice of frames is unbelievable. You will find frames here you do not find anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Yes, you have to see this beautiful eyeglass shop. If it's not the best place for glasses then I don't know what is. I bought 4 pairs of glasses (brown plastic Gucci, hot red Face a Face, multi-colored Zenka and glow-in-the-dark yellow Etnia for my daughter) and and 2 pairs of sunglasses (Porsche for my husband and Beausoleil for myself) and I want more. There is no limit to the styles and colorful selections in this store. I have seen three other high-end eyeglass stores in Boston (the usual suspects) but this one wins my heart. Zenka and Face a Face are two best sunglass designers I have ever seen. You may think that I am an arts teacher but I am simply a lawyer from downtown who just wants to have some fun. I already have Lindberg rimless so this time around I need something to express myself.

I really liked Vizio's selection and I also got very good service and bought 2 pairs of glasses. There were some of the best looking glasses that you won't find at most optical shops. The eye exam was very thorough.

Classy, stylish and modern classes for men and women! I have never seen such unique eyeglasses in any other optical store and I highly recommend that you come here if you are shopping for glasses and care about looking good. Every color and style is here and I found exactly what I always wished to wear on my eyes.

I thought Vizio is the best eyeglass shop I have ever seen. Anyone can find eyeglasses here that you just have to get for yourself (those JF Rey frames for me). You have to see the unique frames and many are available without prescription if you just want to dress up in glasses or sunglasses for fun and for weekend partying. If you want to look great in glasses then Vizio is your one-stop-shop. Vizio is inviting, modern and beautiful and the ambient music, helpful staff and great selection of glasses all make it a really pleasant experience. I did almost all of my Christmas shopping here at Vizio, the Oakley and Maui Jim sunglasses will be an incredible gift for my husband and parents. :)

I was looking for sunglasses and glad I came here. Met the doctor and got an eye exam. The doctor was fantastic. She found stigmatism but that's ok because I see even better with my new glasses. :) They had glasses that I have never seen before at Lenscrafters or For Eyes or other typical eye shops. I a frame that was just right for me and I never felt happier with my eyeglasses. No exaggeration here. I also have a new philosophy on eyeglasses...they are a piece of art and should be treated so. Dr. Rabkin performed the best eye exam I ever had. It was truly the most comprehensive exam and I am surprised that no other optometrist lived up to my expectation until now. Yes, I do demand the best for my eyes and I got it here. After the exam I treated myself to a pair of nicest frames I ever had and I have not seen many eyeglass stores like this in Boston.
