I agree with LJF, however, the food's we eat today, are so full of pesticides, groan warp speed, and processed crap we eat, so, a good capsule multi is important, such as NSI from Vitacost, they are the best I seen yet. Don't waste your money with crap like "one a day" or centrum", they are tablets, and don't absorb like capsules. You can buy also organic food's that will help. Happy Health.

There is nothing wrong with a good multivitamin, but I think if a person would eat a good balanced diet they wouldn't need all those extra supplements.

Supplements are just that. They do NOT replace good nutrition. There are a multitude of enzymes,co-enzymes etc. in natural foods that help our bodies assimilate the vitamins and minerals they contain. Also, different vitamins interact with one another as well as what we eat or drink with the supplements:for example-don't bother swallowing that vitamin with coffee,as coffee counteracts most vitamins. Finally, beware of mega-doses as the water soluble vitamins will be peed out beyond the amount you can absorb at one time, and worse yet the fat soluble vitamins can be toxic in large amounts since you can't pee them out. That said, vitamin & mineral supplements CAN be helpful, especially since most Americans eat a poor diet of highly processed and nutritionally bereft foods.
