Sun Nov 22 2009Vis a Vis is a beautiful salon. It has very talented artists working there. One example is Celena. I followed her to Vis a Vis, even though I have to drive significantly farther it is totally worth it. She always does a fantastic job with my hair. She is known for her expertise with blondes, but she had taken my brunette locks and given them dimension and shine. Her southern charm coupled with her skilled technique and application makes her my hands down pick for my hair color needs. Thanks Celena for all you do.

Wed Nov 11 2009Vis-a-Vis is a great salon and a great experience. I always walk out feeling wonderful. This time, though, Simone convinced me to try going darker with my color. I was nervous at first but I decided to trust her. WOW! I have never gotten so many complements and days later I am still excited about my visit to Vis-a-Vis. Simone - thank you, I can't wait to see you again!

Wed Oct 28 2009I just moved to area and heard that Vis A VIs was the place to go. I thought it would be difficult to get an appointment, but they have a new hair colorist from NEW YORK CITY! Alyson was so professional and full of ideas. It was refreshing to be able to get in the salon the same day I called. I know by writing this she'll probably become busier---but she should be! My hair color has seriously never looked better, I can't wait to see her again.

Tue Apr 28 2009I started coming to Vis-A-Vis after two truly awful experiences at salons in Atlanta. Now I see Simone and she does a wonderful job of creating natural, flattering color-its the best coloring job I've ever had! She's accurately replicated my natural Californian highlights and I get compliments on my hair all the time because it looks so natural and becoming. Kristin cuts my hair and she is very good about listening to me and has always given a great, flattering, easy to style cut. I like my hair to be low maintenance and she never fails to amaze. Both ladies are really friendly and fun to talk to! I love my salon days.

Sun Mar 22 2009I followed Celena Hooper from Toni and Guy in Alpharetta to Vis-à-vis. Celena’s work is fantastic as ever. The color is amazing. I get compliments ever where I go. The salon has Class and Style. Everyone is Friendly and Professional. So, if you’re looking for Great Service and Personable Service ask for Celena Hooper. I definitely give this salon my full recommendation.

Thu Dec 04 2008I've been going here for almost a year and a half. Luke (stylist) and Lauren (colorist) are the best! Professional and they really listen while offering their opinion...you won't be disappointed. Prices are reasonable too.

Thu Oct 23 2008Long hair has always been part of me since I was 8. When I visited Vis-A-Vis for my first time a couple months ago, they assigned me a senior stylist - Jason. He looked at me for quite a few minutes and suggested me having a dramatic change (based on the face shape I have). I was not so sure about it, but I told him - do whatever you can do to make me look "different" and good! I took off my glasses, and he began doing the big project on my hair. 45 minutes later, he asked me to wear my glasses back and see into the mirror. "OH MY GOD"!!!!! "Is that me?!" I really couldn't believe what I just saw!! I looked at least 10 years younger (I am 35 now)! And of course, I looked much prettier! I was sooooooooooo happy that I met Jason at Vis-A-Vis. It was an unexpected surprise! We are still working on our so-called perfect hair style, so I'll go back to see him again next week. Now, I don't think I can trust other stylists but him!! Short hair is much easier & costs less to maintain, and yes ... Read more

Sun Oct 12 2008I had searched online to find a quality salon since I am new to the area. I had been growing my hair out and not doing anything with it, I needed a quality hair make over for some headshots for my website and business cards. Simone colored my hair and Kristen cut it and I LOVE IT!! It is the best hair style I have had in my life!! I have gone to the best salon's in Seattle when I lived there and I've never had such an excellent sytle!! I turned heads at the grocery store even on my way home!! Simone had suggested we go darker, made me nervous but I went with it and my eyes stand out and my complexion looks better! Even when the left that day the two girls at the counter said "wow! You look like you have a tan!" I will be back many more times!! I don't want anyone but Kristen to cut my hair, I've never had a cut that worked with my waves and face shape. EXCELLENT Job Simone and Kristen!!!

Thu Jul 24 2008Ryan and Tyler are both terrific colorists! Kristen gave me a rockin haircut! I seriously recommend Vis-a-vis! I have been a client since 2001, and will never go anywhere else!

Wed Jul 16 2008Since 2006 I have driven 3 hours to Atlanta to have my hair colored by Lauren and cut by Todd. I first went to Vis A Vis because there was not a Kerastase salon in my city and I was unable to find a colorist/stylist that I liked. I saw a write up for Todd in InStyle and decided to give him a call. I asked the receptionist to recommend a good colorist and she booked me with Lauren. I was so amazed with both the color and cut that I have continued to commute to Atlanta every 3-4 months to have my hair done. I do this because they are that good at what they do. Kerastase is an amazing product line and I credit my healthy hair to it. But, all the compliments I receive on my hair are a result of the incredible color and cut. I have very thick and very long hair. Lauren is able to foil with such precision that even when I pull my hair up or back, you never see any "spots" or places that were foiled a few times before, but missed this time. My hair is never dry after foiling. She... Read more

Fri Jun 06 2008I have been seeing Jason for at least 10 years. I have difficult to manage my hair, and he has been able to give me styles over the years that he has suggested, whether short or long. I have always gotten a lot of compliments on my hair. I just came back from Vis-A-Vis, and my friends cannot wait to see my new hair tonight!

Wed Jun 04 2008I just want to post this comment to show how much I appreciate Jason's great efforts on doing my hair. Last year, when I first moved to Atlanta, I was so eager to look for a great stylist because I would soon start my new job! I was so lucky to find Jason Gotch. He did an amazing job on my hair. It was so great that I have to admit I looked much much more attractive! Based on the shape of my face, my personality (he is amazing!! I enjoy having conversations with him so much!!), and my overall appearance, he can easily design a perfect hair style for me! He's been my stylist since then and will be until I lose interets on my appearance:D I love you, Jason!!!

Mon Jun 02 2008I decided to let Ryan at my hair after years of salon-hopping and at-home hair dyes, after reading his praises on citysearch. Believe the hype. My color has never looked better. He had new ideas about color choices and healthy approaches on getting me there and keeping me there. I booked my appointments for the rest of the year!

Sat May 31 2008Thank God I found Jason!!!! I didn't know what I was going to do. I heard he left VM and I just freaked out. He has done wonders with my hair. I have short hair and there are not many stylists out there that are as amazing as he is with short hair. I am a forever client!!!
by vivian0419
Fri May 30 2008Jason Gotch has been doing my hair for years. Recently he changed his career path to work for Vis-A-Vis, so I got a chance to visit this great salon. Compared to the other salons, Vis-A-Vis provides more "nice & friendly" and yet professional services. And I am pretty sure that sooner or latter Jason will be fully booked (just like when he worked for his previous employer). I'll recommend to make an early appointment if you want to have him do your hair! I actually look much younger with the hair style he "designed/created" for me, and that makes me more confident in both my personal life and professional life! Thank you, Jason! And thank you, Vis-A-Vis!

Thu May 22 2008Saw Meredith FOR COLOR AND LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard that she does Cindy's hair from Star 94 (radio) and she loves her hair . So I gave her a try. I am sooooooooo HAPPY!!! My hair matches my skin tones perfectly. I feel young again. The Best part was she knew what I wanted!
by kc03192a
Wed May 21 2008I've tried a few places in the area and Vis-A-Vis is by far the first to meet my standards! I saw Meredith for color and Kristen for a haircut. I have really thick hair and it's turning gray- and these two mastered it! My color looks so natural thanks to Meredith, she is absolutely amazing and it's that perfect summer blonde without getting brassy. And Kristen dominated my hair! My haircut is perfect... when I leave it curly AND when I straighten it. You have to see these ladies! I'm a fan for life.

Thu Mar 13 2008I'm so glad colorist Ryan is back in Atlanta. He does fantastic color at this swank Buckhead salon. Definitely try him out, he does wonders to complement your skin tone and features.

Mon Mar 10 2008I've been seeing Ryan for over a year now and have to say that as far as bleaching and getting that 'beautiful blonde' look - Ryan is definitely the best! He is completely honest on what will suit your skin tone and look and will work in sync with you to ensure you are absolutely completely thrilled with the end result. Ryan is never flustered, always promptly on time for appoinments (which is a huge plus for me) and takes his time to discuss what his plan is and how he going to achieve it. At each appointment he checks with me again to see how the last color felt, how it lasted, the condition of my hair and what my plan is for this time round. Don't waste your time with anyone else... RYAN IS THE WAY TO GO!

Sat Mar 08 2008Thank goodness Ryan is back from NYC. I actually traveled up to NY around the holidays and timed my color appointment just so he could do it. But now he is back and I already scheduled my entire year of appointments. WELCOME BACK RYAN!!!
by trixie731
Thu Mar 06 2008Ryan is the best hair colorist I've ever had and I'm sooo glad he's back from New York. He is very versatile, since at times I've wanted funky color, and at others very natural. He's produced amazing results no matter what I'm in the mood for. His witty personality and expediant application makes the whole procedure enjoyable and doesn't take up the whole afternoon. I highly recommend Ryan....he will achieve whatever you ask for, and add his own creativity to the mix.
by gib281
Thu Mar 06 2008I am also completely psyched that colorist Ryan Finch is back in Atlanta. While my New York friends mourn his leaving, I am so happy he has returned to the motherland, as I could not find anyone to replace him while he was gone. He is absolutely tops for gorgeous buttery gold highlights!
by shadysull1
Thu Mar 06 2008So glad Ryan Finch is back in the ATL from New York. Atlanta deserves such a talented and fabulous colorist! Vis a Vis is a beautiful salon with exceptional service and wonderful staff. If you've never been, you really must go and treat your hair to some pampering. Ryan can color your hair anyway you like to make you happy. And if you're not sure what you're in the mood for, he's great at offering suggestions and steering you in a good direction.

Sun Feb 17 2008I have been a client of Ryan Finch for years and was so upset that he decided to move to New York. I have just found out that he is returning to Vis a Vis!!!!! Ryan is the best colorist that I have ever seen and I am so happy that he can take care of my "locks" again. I love him as well as the salon. I would HIGHLY recommend giving him a try. The best color ever as well as a beautiful salon!

Tue Jan 08 2008I am new to Vis-A-Vis but Arthur (new to Vis-A-Vis`) has been my stylist for years. Vis-A-Vis and Arthur are a great match. Don't hesitate to come here guys.
by darleneste
Tue Jan 08 2008I am a long time customer of Arthur and I'm happy to say he is shining at Vis-A-Vis. I have had multiple compliments over the years regarding my hair cut and color, both of which Arthur created.

Tue Dec 04 2007Hi! I am new to the Atlanta area. I have been going to the same salon for years in another city and was very pleased . So, relocating hair stylists was oh, so, hard!!!! I booked a consultation with Vis-A-Vis. That was where I met Arthur. He was awesome!! I have had many a hair cut in my life but, never had I been given such a moment of perfection as this one. Arthur's cut has set me free with my hair. It is a dream hair style!!! Not only does it not take much effort in styling but, it remains that way all day!! I have had multiple compliments and people are asking where I have my hair done. So, thank you Arthur!! Your skill and design have given me freedom and style. I am more than pleased. Yes, I would highly suggest booking an appointment with Arthur.

Mon Dec 03 2007I went to Vis-A-Vis about 3-4 months ago, but I've been avoiding a new haircut because I can't figure out which (new) salon to go to. I'm torn between integrity and a good cut; this salon is able to deliver an amazing cut, but the service is laughable. I got a cut and color done that day, and while the stylist who colored/highlighted my hair was extremely pleasant, she gave me a color that ended up looking like, as a friend liked to call it, "wheat." The guy who cut my hair was fantastic, but he was unbelievably arrogant and standoffish. While I was in love with my cut, (especially for the low price of $60), I was having a dilemma as to whether or not I should go back. On another note, I wrote to the manager, sending a friendly complaint about my hair color, asking if the situation could be fixed, but she NEVER responded. In addition to THAT, the receptionists are among the worst I've ever met (and I've been to a LOT of high-quality salons). They're like those horrible sales rep... Read more

Mon Oct 15 2007I just moved here from New York and was looking for a new salon. I came across Visavis on citysearch and was really impressed with the website. However, as I started to read the reviews, I was shocked to find that this ?reputable? salon offers the new Brazilan Straightening Treatment and that the manager actually had the service done herself and even endorses it! Check out this month?s Allure magazine?s investigation report ?Scared Straight? on page 178. The reason why it straightens is because it contains formaldehyde, which is classified as a human carcinogen by the World Heath Organization. The worst part is that it?s not the skin contact that is the concern?it?s inhaling the vapors. I?d hate to be a client, much less an employee working under these conditions. Scary?.

Tue Oct 09 2007One of my girlfriends mentioned to me that her stylist Vis-A-Vis, Joseph Manzi, would soon be offering a new type of Brazilian straightening procedure. So, being the girl that is ALWAYS on the look out for an easy way to manage my frizzy curls, I made an appointment ASAP. When I called, the girl who anwered the phone told me she would be more than happy to schedule the appointment, but wanted to transfer me to the new general manager, Katie, who had the procedure done herself and could explain it best. I walked into the most beautiful salon EVER. The front desk brought out my Chai Tea on a tray with a smile. From the second I sat in Joseph's chair I felt at ease- he explained that this was a protein based procedure and the more damaged your hair was, the BETTER! I guess all of those years of burning my hair with chemical relaxers and flat irons finally paid off. My hair has never been shinier or easier to manage! LOVE IT!

Sat Oct 06 2007Arthur at Vis-A-Vis gave me the best haircut I have ever had. I had to find a new stylist because my old one moved away. I had been seeing her for almost 8 years, and I loved her and the way she cut my hair. I decided to give Vis-A-Vis a try. The stylists that are mentioned on here(citysearch) where not available when I was. Then they said Arthur could see me. I was a little nervous, because he's not mentioned on here or the salon website. I was assured that he was good and capable of doing what I wanted. I was a little nervous when I met Arthur, but he instantly put me at ease. He seemed compassionate and told me that he understood why I would be nervous going to someone new. We talked for a while before he shampooed me, and he suggested a number of different things for my face shape, and hair texture. I had intended to just get a trim, but after hearing what he recommended, and why, I agreed to a little more than just a trim. Then he gave me the best shampoo massage, and we... Read more

Tue Sep 25 2007Chaz has been tending to my locks for years. He's amazing at what he does. All I need to do is sit down in his chair and he goes to work. He knows exactly what should be done with my hair and I have complete confidence in his ability. I always feel like a million bucks when I leave the salon. I highly recommend him and look forward to each appointment.

Mon Sep 03 2007I moved from New York and looked to citysearch for help finding a new colorist, convinced that I would be disappointed... I read all the "rave" reviews about Emory at Vis a Vis and decided to give it a try. I was looking for beautiful natural highlights and my expectations were exceeded...yes it was expensive but it was worth it and it looks like it!

Sun Jul 15 2007After reading some of the negative reviews I had to write one myself. Shawn Warner has been doing my color for two years and Jeffrey McQuithy have been doing my cut for four. They are AWESOME. The salon itself has a high-end, modern feel, but no snootiness whatsoever to be found here. The front desk staff is warm and friendly, always helpful, and perfectly willing to fetch a bottle of water or a cup of coffee if you need it. The valet parking is hassle-free and friendly. If you don't like the price of the products, don't buy them. The staff will ask you if you need product, but they don't pressure you to purchase. Shawn and Jeffrey both charge a significant amount for their services, but I'm happy to part with the money because my cut and color are flawless when I leave the salon. Other stylists and colorists in the salon charge less. If you have a bad experience in the salon, talk to Jeffrey McQuithy or Monique Livingston. Jeffrey has worked hard to build a classy, reputable busines... Read more

Thu Jun 07 2007I went to this salon after doing a LOT of research on Atlanta salons and stylists/colorists. I decided to see a colorist , who seemed to have "rave reviews" on this site, and I was advised that he "charges a little more" upon booking the appoinment. I was extremely disappointed with his work. I advised that I wanted my naturally blonde hair (dishwater blonde) to be "brighter". What I got was darker than my actually natural color. He evidently did not listen, and put in more low-lights than highlights. 240.00 dollars and 2.5 hours later, I was very disappointed, and upset. He advised me to "give it some time and it should wash out (the lowlights). Well, that's nice to know after I just invested that amount of money and time. He did tell me that if I wanted to come back and have him "fix it" I could...but it would be another week later. I really don't have that kind of time or energy to have to come back again to have something fixed that should have been right the first time, given his ... Read more

Mon May 28 2007I've gone to vis-a-vis for about a year They're knowledgeable enough I suppose, but WAY overpriced and snooty and pretentious as hell. The final nail in the coffin occurred when twice the color wasn't left on long enough (because they're too busy with all their *other* clients) and I had to come back to have it re-done, which wasted even more of my time. There are plenty of other salons in Atlanta where you can get much better service for a much better price.

Fri Mar 23 2007I have been very pleased with Vis a Vis. Jeffrey has been cutting my hair for years and I have never been disappointed. He seems to create the right cut for me going from short to long back to short. Karen never fails to get the right "brown" for me. The entire staff has always been friendly and makes customer service a priority.

Mon Feb 05 2007I've been a blonde for 16 years and finally decided to go dark in one appointment instead of gradually. Karen discussed color with me, looked at pictures I brought in, told me what to expect, and went for it! The color is better than I could have ever imagined. No freaking out about dark hair here... It looks fabulous! If you are a blonde wanting to change it up a bit, Karen Hinson is the one to ask for.

Thu Nov 23 2006Great stylists. I have extremely curly and difficult hair but you would never know it after an hour with Joseph!!

Sun Nov 12 2006The colorists and stylists are extremely talented, and I love how my hair looks when I leave. However, some of the management staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Once you walk past the front desk the experience is great!

Thu Oct 26 2006i have to disagree with the poster below. this is NOT the best salon ever. its products are over priced - 2 products = at least 70 dollars. a whole visit, plus shampoo and conditioner cost me a little over 300 dollars. i will not be back. the staff is arrogant. who is writing these reviews????????? i'll go back to van michael. my appointment did not start on time.

Wed Sep 06 2006As a hair color junkie, I've been getting my hair colored, permed, foiled, cut, blown out, flat ironed and every thing in between for 18 years. So, I've been to lots of salons. I was so impressed with my experience at vis a vis that I had to post a review (something I never do). After TONS of research, I finally decided to give Vis A Vis a try mostly due to the amazing customer reviews that I read about the salon. Emory and Beth gave me the best color and cut of a lifetime. Leslie did fabulous make up for me (and I've had make up professionally done hundreds of times.) I'm here to stay at this salon. The one on one time is fabulous and everyone is very professional and friendly. The salon was busy; however, it did not deter from my experience. It was the first salon I've been to where every client's hair (that I saw that day) looked healthy and fabulous. I came in with a hair disaster, but Emory and Beth worked their magic and got rid of the brassy, "chicken fat" yellow, chunky highl... Read more

Thu Aug 17 2006I've been a very happy client of Shawn Warner's for about two years, but was getting my haircut somewhere else. Shawn finally talked me into trying a stylist at the salon. I just had my haircut with Luke Salter and I am amazed! I really wish I would have given in a lot soonier to save the travel time between salons. He gave me a fantastic cut and I really enjoyed our conversation. Very nice and interesting young man. I'm happy to say that I have my dream hair team!

Tue Aug 15 2006I had been a client of Vis-a-Vis for a year before my stylist left. Two years and many hair disasters later...I returned the BEST Salon in Atlanta. I love my hair!! Emory has corrected my color and Beth gave me a wonderful new haircut. It is worth the drive and the price!
by ginsing791
Tue Aug 01 2006I was able to get an appointment with Emory for an emergency color correction after a colorist at Key Lime Pie ruined my hair. I have long dark hair, and the KLP mishap left me with pinkish orange roots and black tips. Emory transformed my hair, and the color looks the best it's looked in years. I highly recommend him for any brunette looking for natural highlights. Honestly, you can't even tell my hair has been colored now--it looks so natural! He also used a shine treatment that left my fried hair feeling silky. I have been to 4 other big-name salons in this city, and all have been disappointing--except for Vis-a-vis. Thank you for fixing my hair!

Tue Jul 11 2006It took me a while to get in for my first appointment with emory and beth (recommended by friend), but I would have waited another month for the results I expierenced. I can honestly say this is the most amazing color and cut I have ever had, and I have been to a lot of different places around town. I should also mention the customer service was excellent, with an "at home" feel, which I prefer. Can't say enough about this place!

Tue May 02 2006For those of you still trying to find Chaz, I just saw him last week at VisAVis! I was way overdue for a haircut but I refused to see anyone else until I exhausted all options. I am so happy and I was quite impressed with the salon as well. The valet attendent was very friendly and so was the front desk (very unusual). The building was beautifully decorated and I felt totally comfortable even though it was my first visit. I can't wait to see Chaz again in June!
