Vincent Van Gogh Vodka is 80 proof and comes in many signature Flavors that make mixing Cocktails a lot more interesting and flavorful. Oh, wait you meant the painter? The painter was Awesome. One of my favorite painters, he often painted paradoxes; Darkness represented by Light (Starry Night) or bleak yet hopeful (Paintings of the working class). And as he Grew as an Artist, his mind began to slip. His greatest paintings were often created during Mental fits. This is probably the greatest, most Symbolic and most tragic paradox. Consider Wheat Field with Crows, One of his last paintings, depicts Bleak scenery with Vibrant colors. Is it Hopeful or gloomy? Peaceful or Tumultuous? His life was tragic, yet he gave us some of the greatest paintings known to man. He has influenced millions and solidified his legacy. Would that we were all so lucky.

my personal favorite. I love most of his work. I also got to live near Arles France for awhile during the 100 yr celebration of his life there and got to walk the streets he painted. He was very troubled but really found a way to put his emotions in his work.

I grew up with a large book of paintings of him in the house when I was a kid so I always liked him. I gained a greater appreciation when I read his letters to his brother Theo, he was a poet too!

I've seen 25 or 30 of his paintings in museums and I was kind of let down. Granted, they were not his most famous works, but, I like Ryder better.

I really enjoy looking through books of his work. He had a definite style all his own. The Starry Night is maybe my all time favorite painting, mainly for Van Gogh's vivid use of color and the swirling patterns. He was also a very tortured soul and you can't help but think about that while you look at his paintings. It certainly shows up in some of his work.

I used to not appreciate him a lot because I was mostly in to realism. But I have come to appreciate him more the more I look. It seems I can look at some of his paintings indefinitely and not quit thinking about them. I love the way he uses brush strokes and color to create an impression.

To me, Van Gogh is more than just the most inspired painter of all-time, he's also a fascinating character who thought deeply about the meaning of art and life. The classic Van Gogh stories - like when he cut of his ear and delivered it to a prostitute he knew - are interesting enough on the surface, but when you begin to uncover the deeper sources that drove and motivated this man, it really increases your appreciation for his painting and the events in his life. You can read his autobiography, in a sense, by reading a compilation of the letters he wrote to his brother Theo. In these extremely well-written and passionate letters he does talk about day-to-day events, but he spends more time outlining his ever-evolving philosophy of art and his struggle to hold his tumultuous psyche together. Money was a constant problem for van Gogh, and in many ways he considered himself throughout his life to be a failure. But his love of art and his belief in its power kept him going as he crea... His paintings are as vibrant, dynamic and intense as his life was touching and tragic. The continued ability his work has to deeply move and inspire is evidence of a man who struggled his entire life to come to terms with the passionate turmoil within his soul and was finally only able to fully express in the remarkable body of work he left behind. Van Gogh's ability to convey powerful feelings and emotion in his paintings was so great that reaction to them is almost always immediate, dramatic and profound.
