Sun Jul 18 2010My rating probably is not valid since I believe the challenge I am experiencing with the splitter may be because of a set-up error I may have made and not the splitter itself; really wanted to be able to give it a higher rating! I am using the splitter to split the HDMI input signal from a Comcast Digital HD box to send HDTV to two 1080p TVs; one TV (a Sharp) is next is 3ft. from the splitter, and the other (a Vizio) about 40-50ft. away without having to lease a second box from Comcast. Before I set-up the splitter, I tested the connection to the more distant TV by directly connecting it to the HD box make sure the distance would not deteriorate the picture; the picture was perfect with 1080p resolution (without using a repeater), and it was with the primary TV as well. However, after setting up the splitter the resolution on both TVs dropped to 480p!! I disconnected the distant T.V. from the splitter to see if the primary TV's resolution still connected to the splitter would r... Read more

Tue Sep 29 2009I was in the market for a 1x4 splitter for a 108i source to a Sony LCD, Onkyo SR-607 Samsung DLP/Optoma HD20 and to an Integra DHC 9.9 Samsung UNB7000/Sim2 D60. I started with a Monoprice's best 1.3b ATC 1x4 splitter and had compatibility issues with the IntegraSamsung/ Sim2 setup. Then I tried the HD Trinity splitter from CECmpass which worked intermittently and most of the time required the Onkyo->Samsung DLP to be turned on at the same time for it to lock/sync the signal. Finally, I tried this splitter and it works like a charm with my pickiest Integra DHC 9.9 setup right out of the box. I have been experimenting with HDMI setups for over a year now and I have paid heftily(over $200/-) for 1x2 splitters last year. 2009 is the year to take the leap to HDMI splitters as the price is right and I cannot recommend this splitter enough to everybody out there. This is the splitter to get for the best compatibilty with the pickiest of recievers or TVs. After a month of frustrations with var... Read more

Sun Aug 16 2009This product is excellent. It is incredibly simple to use and works perfectly. I connected a second HD TV in my game room with a 50ft HDMI cable, also bought through Amazon at a price 75% less than at Best Buy. Amazingly, there is no drop off in picture quality. I would highly recommend this product.

Wed May 13 2009Buyer be warned, these ViewHD 1x2 & 1x4 splitters are exclusively sold by J&R; Galaxies on Amazon as it is described and reviewed here. The product description and all reviews are only applied to the 1x2 and 1x4 units from J&R; Galaxies. This HDMI 1x4 splitter is the latest and the best unit on the market for the following reasons: 1) It is the only splitter meets the HDMI V1.3 top Spec of 10.2Gbps, ready for next generation A/V application. with HDMI V1.3, you get Higher Resolution, Higher Frame Rate, Deeper Colors. Since there are so many HDMI V1.2 or older products were "mis-labeled" to V1.3, it is wise for buyers to be skeptical and dig further into product data. The only way to identify whether a HDMI product is true V1.3 or not, is to check whether it meets V1.3 speed requirements. HDMI V1.3 bandwidth is 10.2Gbps, which requires a video amplifier frequency of 340MHz to acheive it. HDMI V1.2 is 4.95Gbps or 165MHz. So, if you see a "V1.3" HDMI product having a video ampl...
