There is a video game store at the East Town Mall in Knoxville, Tennessee. There is no name on the outside of the store. It's possible that this store has no name at all. The prices were way too high. They were selling Atari 2600 games. A few of the games were about $7.00 each but most of them were $9.99 - $16.99 each. Used Atari 2600 games aren't worth that much. I've bought these same games at Goodwill for $3.00 each or less. They were also selling video games for other systems at high prices too. I predict that this video game store will be out of business in less than one year. I give this store a 1 star rating.

I've spent more than enough time in front of video games, but it wasn't really something I did as a kid. I spent way too much time playing video games in college, and I didn't own my own system until I was 22.

They used to have arcade games at the 7-11's around my house. My friends and me would steal a bottle of Mad Dog 20 20, or some beer, hammer it down, then go back inside and play.

Best video game system ever hands down was the atari 2600, which featured games like Pong, River Raid, Joust, Pitfall and who could ever forget Mario's debut in Donkey Kong!!!!!!

My sister and I got the FIRST video game for christmas in the 70s it was called pong. For those of you who are not old enough or old enough and have blanked it out.... this was pong.  A control board with two knobs and on the screen two lines that moved up and down knocking a blip back and forth that made a sound like sonar on a sub. I'm sure all you Wii users are now green with envy.

Very cost effective, especially if you buy video games used. I play around with an old, but outdated Genesis, but it is still fun. Maybe takes the live action fun out of something like Hot Wheels, but with a racing game, you do not need a lot of space! Also the football games are much better to play than electric football or those old board games..PLUS, you can play videos solitaire.

I would let my kid play Mule, and old educational game. But he's going to be pretty old before I let him play most of the violent crap that's out there.

I have played video games since I was 4 years old. I am now 21 and I can say video games have not done any harm to me in any of the ways shown and I play on a daily basis for at least 2 hours. I have a job on campus, and one off campus, a steady girlfriend, I am very popular on my college campus with tons of friends. I have a high GPA and made the deans list every semester. I am in very good shape ( I was also a former all american highschool football player but didnt want to play in college). In fact te only one of my friends that is overweight isn't because of videogames but because of a thyroid disorder. Bring proof to back up these allegations next time. There may be a few that end up in a bad position, but most of them will not.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with videogames. The only problem I see here is with those that would censor videogames or criticize them because they don't understand them. Videogames ARE harmless entertainment. Just as people watch TV to relax after a hard day of work, people play videogames to relax. There isn't much difference between the two entertainment mediums. I have been playing video games since I was eight. I've been playing more violent video games (starting with "Goldeneye 007") since I was about fifteen. I am just as normal and well-adjusted as any kid who has never touched a video game controller. Heykate mentioned her sixteen year-old son. I'm sorry that it happened to her family, but I think she's too general about her research findings. It seems that many people don't make distinctions in this debate. If a child (or a college-aged adult like me) play video games for hours and hours day by day, to the exclusion of everything else, that's a problem. On the othe... Read more

It all depends on what type of game they are playing. If it is something violent or something which advocates for criminal behaviour eg those need for speed games, then this is bad. But any addiction is bad for you, because it drains your time. That's why some kids don't have enough time for homework and their friends, they are too busy playing their games.

I seen a lot of video game addicts in my time, but i think the problem is getting worse. I think this is a major cause in the child obesety crisis. Parents should set time limits, so their child can go outside and get active. When i was a kid, i always liked to ride my bike. I hardly see children riding their bikes anymore. The neighborhood parks are also empty.

Depends greatly on the game. You don't want them to engulf your entire life, though. Go out and play once in a while.

i strongly dislike them. i remember when i was a kid videogames were played along w/other toys, as well as actually going outside and moving a little. now they seem to be the main source of entertainment and activity for kids. also i LOATHE those 40 year old guys who still play video games and call themselves gammers, or call playing games Gamming how stupid

These can be both good and bad. They are plenty of fun, but not very stimulating mentally and definately not physically. Kids need exercise, and this sure doesn't provide.

I can't stand video games. I never got into them. I was never the type to just sit and do something. While other kids were playing video games, I was on my bicycle.

Harmless entertainment for some, weight gain, carpal tunnel syndrome and future eye problems for others.Kids who spend too many hours playing these are likely to become social misfits. Some of these games glorify crime and violence.

Playing with video games is normally no real issue, but you'd have put down the controller and go outdoors eventually.

Most video games are brilliant forms of escapist entertainment, which are harmless and just another good way to escape that pesky reality. Nintendo's games are especially brilliant, including the long-running Mario, Kirby and Pokemon series. And, let's not forget Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog! Being addicted to video games is not a problem at all!

Video games are great but eventually you'll need to put down the controller and go outside. Unless you're a hermit of course.

Certainly you know you've been playing too much Sim City if you start complaining about traffic by saying We need to unblock the clogged viens of our transport system! or ask for a drink of water by saying We need an urgent cash injection into our aqua distrubution matrix!. Seriously though, it kills me to do it but I agree with TVFan in that computer games are the least destructive way to escape the daily grind of reality.
