One of my favorite beers in the world, and I have drunk beer in about 90 countries. It's made by Cerveceria Modelo, which also makes Corona and Negra Modelo, so it's a mystery why it's not sold in the U.S. It is roughly the same color as Dos Equis amber, but it is not as heavy, and slightly more hopped, giving it a crisp and refreshing taste and mouth feel. It stands up well in a michelada (with ice and lime juice and salt, often with a little hot sauce and/or tomato/Clamato juice), whereas a lighter beer would be lost. Another comparable beer, though less hopped, is Leon, also made by Modelo and also unavailable in the U.S. Victoria goes exceptionally well with food, and one version of heaven for me is to sit in an open-air taqueria in Mexico City or Cuernavaca, eating tacos al pastor and quaffing Victoria.

I discovered Victoria and Indio while in Guanajuato for an extended stay. Coming from Texas, where Shiner Bock and Shiner Black Lager are worshipped, Victoria is my favorite beer. If it weren't an 8 hour drive to Laredo, I'd be making more trips across the border to stock up. Victoria has real flavor but isn't heavy like other amber beers. It goes well with food and just for drinking. I wish somebody would import it to the US, but then it still wouldn't taste as good since beers in the US must be pasteurized. We can only hope.

My favourite Mexican beer. To me it has more flavour than the lighter lagers.

I was given a 1/2 case by my Spanish employees returning from a recent trip to Mexico. Actually my wife and I are sharing, what we guess to be the equivelent to a 40oz, as I type this. We wish it was sold here. Come to think of it, we only have 2 left.... Hmmm how to obtain another case? Can I purchase this online?

I lived in Toluca, Mexico while we opened a factory there, and stayed and got it up and running. There was nothing more satisfying than getting to the house and popping open a cold Victoria. Believe me I tried all Mexico's beer, and I could find nothing close. Pacifico was my second choice. Is ther any way I can get some in the U.S. I can find find most beers from Mexico, why not VICTORIA.

About that distinctive yellow dot on the Victoria's, only the Returnable (recycled thru the brewery) has the yellow dot. The Non-Recyclable (which the public recycles on their own) don't come with the yellow dots. Others beer brands practice the same techniques, some use the dot system while others use different methods like changing lettering or design of the bottle, etc, etc. BTW, Victoria or like some of the locas call it 'Vicky's beer' totally Rocks!!1

Victoria is my favorite Mexican beer; maybe.  I say that because Indio beer was my favorite until a waiter in Veracruz, MX hipped me to Victoria beer.  I asked for Indio beer; but they were out of it.  A few days later, he brought me Victoria and Indio with my order.  He said I could have a couple on the house until I decided.  After 4 free beers, I still could not definitely decide.  You can't go wrong either way.  I'm not sure Victoria is available at the touristy spots in Mexico.  It is not heavily marketed in Mexico; so you'll have to ask for it; unless the waiter senses that you really enjoy Mexican beer.  Speaking Spanish certainly helps. Victoria beer is not available in the U.S.

Victoria is a fantastic Mexican lager that is unbelievably drinkable. The bottle comes with a distinctive dot of yellow paint on it - not sure what it means, or why it's there, but somehow, it makes a difference. I have a tradition of making sure my younger brother has a bottle of Victoria in his hands on big days. I brought him one from Mexico for his high school graduation, and one for his college graduation. Hopefully this will continue. My kingdom for a cold Victoria 40 at this moment.
