Sat Oct 24 2009They made me wait a hour before seeing me and my pets and after that they made me wait another hour in the examination room. I brought $300 and a coupon for a free first time visit and they treated me as if I was some scum of the earth charity case. After paying $300 dollars for my cat and dog's yearly shots. They informed me that it would not cover the license fee and they where going to have report me to the pound. Not mention my dog had a ear infection and the Dr said she would give prescription for and then forgotten and told me when I called back that I would have to comeback in and pay another $50 plus lab fee's for a ear culture. I also told her while I was there, that I had noticed some moles one my dog and she told me she would look at them some other time "when I spent more money on labs".

Tue Oct 13 2009My dog had an exam here when we first moved to Portland last fall (even with a coupon it was very expensive). In the spring I noticed the teeth in the back of her mouth looked awful, and took her back. They charged $700 for cleaning her teeth and extracting 3, one big and two small. I felt strongly that they had missed examining her teeth when she was first seen, and expressed my feeling that they should take responsibility and reduce the charges. No go. I stupidly went back a third time to get some eye ointment for my dog, who'd had an eye infection before. They pushed for an unnecessary expensive eye exam before giving me the ointment. That was the end. I have an appointment Monday with another vet for a $150 tooth cleaning. They will charge $6 to $25 per extraction if any are needed. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Thu Jan 08 2009I have been going to woodstock for over 4 yrs now and have had no issues with them what so ever! The staff is wonderful and always make a point to go out of their way to greet my animals especially my Doberman Casper, which I am beginning to think he is their favorite lol! In fact today I dropped him off for a surgery to remove a mass from is tummy area. When I dropped him off they more then listened to my concerns and my dogs issues, the vet even came out to discuss my concerns! Wonderful wonderful staff at woodstock, expensive but what vet isn't! I would recommend them to anyone who asked!

Mon Apr 14 2008I made a follow-up appointment for my dog after she had been to Dove Lewis for bloating. I had an appointment for 9:00 am in the morning. I had taken the time off of work. It was on a Monday, since they are not open on Saturdays. When I got there I said who I was and I was a little early. The receptionist didn't even say a word back to me or smile or anything. We sat and waited for one hour with no acknowlegment from her. My dog whinned the whole time. Finally I said that we couldn't wait any longer and left. She said nothing to me. Not even sorry. I had been the only other customer there with an exception of a few people coming in to buy advantage - which they had none. I will never go back to them. Besides that we never got out of the place without a huge bill.

Mon Apr 07 2008When I took my old cat in for shots, I was shocked at all the procedures suggested, and even more shocked at the prices! When I told friends how much my vet charged, they too were shocked. I felt guilt tripped into paying for services I couldn't afford- but I thought the staff was caring and friendly. Then my husband took our puppy in, and had a very negative experience. They took the dog to another room for the exam, and then charged for things they had done without prior discussion. At a follow up appointment, no one knew wat had taken place at the first visit! And they were rude about it! I would not recommend taking your pet to this vet.

Mon Mar 31 2008I used to take my dog to Rose City Vet (who are great!), but was looking for a vet closer to my house. My dog was limping and I took her in last week. They took us into an exam room and told us we needed to wait because an emergency had come in. Then, the vet came in for her very brief "exam". We explained that she had been limping, and we weren't sure what caused it. She told us our dog needed knee surgery for luxating patellas and we discussed her options. We felt rushed, but we understood there was an emergency situation and we were just relieved to know what was causing her problems. Over the next two days we continued to monitor her and noticed her limping was getting worse. Eventually, we realized it was her paw giving her issues. We looked closely and saw that her paw was torn, infected and double in size. We were frustrated that the Woodstock Vet Hospital never even looked at her paw in the first place! They assumed it was her knees causing the limping. We took ... Read more

Tue Jul 24 2007I have to agree with the gentleman who thought that the vet was not that nice at this clinic. They seemed very cold and over priced. Even though they are the closest vet to my house I choose to go some where else. When I go to the vet I don't want to feel uncomfortable or put out and both times I did. Sorry Woodstock Vet Hospital but it's gonna take more then just proximity to keep me and my pet as a loyal customer.

Wed Jun 06 2007We have used Woodstock Veterinary Hospital for at least 4 years. Our needs have been met with their services to date. We have used other vet clinics/hospitals in the past who have been more expensive than Woodstock, so we feel they are reasonably priced. It is my experience that the vet techs are superb. The office staff is caring. Our favorite vet is Amy Horlings, she rocks! Regarding billing, payment is due at the time of service, as is with many vet hospitals. The staff is caring. There is more than one vet. There are times when you have to keep on top of things - for example we wanted a RX for a years supply of medication via mail-order for one of our pets. Getting this was not as simple as it should have been, however, we were able to do so. One of our dogs needed TPLO surgery. We chose to take her to a vet other than the one recommended by Kirk Miller, we feel we made the correct choice in doing so. On the down side, we have received a vaccination reminder card in the past ... Read more

Tue Apr 17 2007I had taken my dog and cat to Woodstock VCA Animal Hospital for a year. Literally, when I acquired my puppy, I called Woodstock to arrange the vaccination schedule, to arrange his neutering.. I had my cat's vaccinations updated. I bought my Revolution through them. When I needed to board my dog, I used a boarding service run by one of their vet techs. My dog ripped his toe nail off, and after calling Dove-Lewis's emergency line, I determined that it was important to take him to the vet. Money was a little tight at this point, and when I asked if I could pay half of his vet bill, they said no. They were completely unwilling to work with me on some sort of payment plan, despite our previous extensive business relationship. About a month or so ago I adopted a dog who it turned out had a bladder infection and four massive stones. When I asked how much surgery would cost, they said $1200 for the surgery alone. After calling around I discovered that three other vets would do the surgery, wi... Read more
