Fri Sep 02 2011There are some things I would change from my experience with United States Van Lines, but then again, i kind of get the customer service rep when they tried to explain and I quote: "this is the busiest season for moving". Well, I do get that but there is a reason why I am asked for an available window for my move. Other than the movers being late to pick up and 2 days early for delivery, the move went by super fast and easy. The price quote was cheaper than other companies, even after a quality assurance department called me to go over my weight and added some items that my estimator had forgotten to include. Nothing was broken and they did disassemble and reassemble my furniture. I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't for the delay.

Thu Aug 25 2011I am 55 years old and although I am physically fit and capable to move big bulky items, I decided that I was not going to move myself. It was going to be my last weeks in Georgia and I new that my relaxed, lay back life was soon to be over as soon as I moved to New York. There's a reason they call it the city that never sleeps. Once I decided to hire someone else to do the move for me, I had no idea where to start. I first started looking at the telephone guide but soon realized I was not going to be sure who I spoke to and their references if any. I then went online and googled georgia moving companies and moving to new york. This resulted in numerous moving companies. I must have called some 10 companies but the prices were just crazy. Over 3 thousand dollars jus because I had 2863 pounds. Here is where word of mouth comes to play a role in my relocation. My soon to be boss (who was not going to pay for my move) recommended United States Van Lines. They have used this company for s... Read more

Mon Aug 22 2011Getting a moving company is easy. Getting a moving company that actually cares for your move is not. This is why i find it imperative to give United States Van Lines a good rating here. The estimators clearly know what they are talking about when they are quoting you. They are no amateurs. The move is well taken care of from start to finish and no step is overlooked. While dealing with them I felt confident and relaxed because I knew that if anything were to happen, they were gonna have my back. Fortunately, there were no problems and my move went by faster than i expected. My items got to my home earlier than scheduled, but that was even better. Now we are in the process of planning a welcoming party to get to know our neighbors and start a great life here.

Mon Aug 15 2011Wow! Is the only thing I have to say about the reviews here. But, like they say, there is always two sides for a story and it is best to learn them all before jumping to conclusions. My daughter was moving back home from college and my wife wanted me to take time off from work to go and move her. This was impossible for many reasons but we actually waited a long time before I finally convinced my other half that hiring movers was our only safe bet. And it was. The only thing that kind of went bad was the fact that my daughter's move had to be divided between two loads due to the lack of space. This kind of made things confusing because some stuff got here last week and the rest well, got here yesterday. There were some minor scratches in her futon, but I honestly think it was her over there you know, partying and all but even if it were the movers, you have to be prepared for things like that to happen...even with the best of moving companies. Just think how bad it would have been to ... Read more

Wed Mar 23 2011My experience with United States Van Lines. Me and my family had decided for the benefit of my kids school and we were not happy with were we were living we new that our home was in Georgia so that was our decision to move so we figured out just when and how we were going to move. We were going back and forth about should we get a U-Haul than I brought up the idea to my husband see how much it would cost to get movers to do it because my husband has had 3 heart attacks and 6 stints so he cannot do any lifting over 5 pds. So looked at several movers was looking over all the quotes and decided that United Van lines was the cheapest way to go. I had my husband give United Van lines a call he talked to a lady named Paige she and my husband went over everything that we had in the house what the cost would be and the deposit we did not decide right than so some time went by…Paige gave us a Call back the price was not the same as the first time and she said that she would change the price... Fri Dec 10 2010Disrespectful customer service. No accountability to management. Contracted movers were Fly-By-Night. Extensive damage, never recovered. The salesman will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign. This company is more concerned about legal paperwork to duck out of the responsibility of paying for damages. Inexperience, carelessness and poor loading practices. Everything the salesman assured us on was later recanted as "Not in the paperwork signed." No matter how much you prepare you can never be ready for the unethical practices of this company. They may be the cheapest quote but don't believe them. They definitely serve their best interests and are well versed in refusing responsibility for false promises or damages. If you use this company you WILL be sorry.

Fri Oct 01 2010Despite what I read on some of the internet reviews (which were not so good), this company was both courteous and professional. They did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it in my recent move from Illinois. Our rep was Robert Igneri and he pursued us for weeks to get my wife and I's business. The estimate was changed two days before the move because I wanted to change the weight so I wouldn't have any surprises on the back end which made it more expensive but in the end, they refunded me my money that I paid. If you completely read the contract they give you and understand what it is saying, there are no surprises, customer service follows up and they are there for you every step of the way. They are available, they return calls and they're honest and reliable. The men from MDV Moving in Maryland were about getting the business done. Nothing got broken and they were very courteous and professional understanding that moving can be stressfu... Read more

Mon Sep 20 2010I hate this company. They quoted $2000.00 and are tryng to charge $4500. The driver showed up with a half full truck, tried to include was was already there in the weight with my stuff, said he couldn't get the rest of my stuff because he didn't have room. I called the company back and talked with Lisa at ext 210 who lied and said they were sending a second truck they never sent. They never bothered picking up the other half of my belongings. I also found out they had the wrong delivery date. Lisa said no problem they cod scedule delivery anytime within 90 days at no extra charge. Two days later they are trying to charge an extra $500 for storage and Lisa at extention 210 lies and says she never talked to me. I guess I devined they have a Lisa at ext 210. I still don't have ANYof my stuff and they don't return My calls. This company crimanally preys on the elderly and should be investigated by law enforcement. Sent from my iPhone

Tue Jun 29 2010United States Van Lines is a broker. They don't tell you this. They book your move, take your money, then don't show up. They couldn't find a carrier, they say. Why not tell us that before we fly back to take care of our move? They cost us thousands in additional rental payments, lost wages, ridiculous. NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER, use this company. Complete liars, rip-off artists, and will cause you untold nightmares!

Mon Jun 28 2010I do not recommend United States Van Lines. The company gave me a date to move across the country. I flew in to meet the movers because I was working in another city already. The movers did not show up on the agreed date. I called my Sales Representative and was told the carrier backed out. This occurred after I had to pay two deposits. The Quality Agent contacted me a day prior to the move to go through the moving list. The list was wrong and missing items which I know I gave to the Sales Representative. She told me I would need to pay an additional 683.10. I had already paid a deposit of 1,544.70. I paid the additional deposit and emailed the forms back to her. The day the move was supposed to happen; I was told I did not sign a second Terms and Conditions. I had to go wait for an hour in a Staples for the form to be faxed to me, so I could send it back. The Quality Agent said they could not move me without all of the paperwork. I called the Sales Representative, Qu... Read more

Wed May 05 2010I can't believe how horrible this move was. The subcontracted movers United States Van Lines (USVL) used showed up with 1 driver and 1 mover; and the driver wasn't there to move things. I had to help load the truck; which was a day late. Then, of course, the delivery was late and the driver had no idea how to get to our house even though I provided a google map printout and instructions on the situation. After going the wrong way on a 1 way street and having to have police and a jack-truck to pull the truck out they finally showed up and, yet again, I had to help move things in as the driver and 1 mover were the only people who showed up. Now, through all this, USVL was supposed to be the communication point for all problems. I had to act as the communication liason with them, the subcontracted mover (who were not local) and myself because no one called anyone or followed through. Further, because they needed help, they had to hire people off the street to move my stuff in (an... Read more
