Wed Apr 28 2010Hey to the average American it would not be considered as significant perod but the American leaders should be worried into who steps into # 10! Seeing how the UK normally backs America with most military movements!! We may not have the biggest Armed forces in the world, but we do have the most experienced, well trained men and women the world can offer!!! Not forgetting that our economy is stable with growth! Personally I hope that the liberal Democrats get in as I feel that The Conservatives and Labor parties have both screwed up over the MANY years they have been in power!!! Like America wanted change that affects the people, so do most people in the UK want a change from old politics!!! Now I hope that whoever is elected, stay's the hell away from EUROPE and its self righteous government!!! (Those who don’t know, that would be Germany & France!) ;)

Wed Apr 28 2010Quite frankly I don't care. Shocking as it may seem we have a man calling a general election who simply didn't get elected by the people. For me that shows nothing, but disregard for the very people you expect to get you back in there again. Gordon Brown was arrogantly passed this mantra from Tony Blair which I found utterly disgraceful. I've tried and I've tired to like Gordon Brown, but I simply can't. He lacks charisma, charm, people skills, public speaking and many other credentials of what a politicians supposed to be about. He always looks as if he's sitting at a Celine Dion concert after being dragged by his wife. I'll give him some credit for trying to clean up the mess Tony Blair has left, but it seems like too little too late. David Cameron for the Conservatives I think is far worse than Gordon Brown. The mere fact Cameron tries so spectacularly hard to have an understanding of the real world when he comes from such an affluent background where he doesn't have a ... Read more

Sat Apr 10 2010As I wrote in an earlier comment about Gordon Brown, I tend to think that we will see a hung parliament this time around. If not, we will see a narrow Tory victory. Gordon Brown held off the elections as long as he could, but it is obvious that his prospects aren't improving, so this past week he decided to dissolve Parliament and call an election. Unlike our elections, usually theirs last about a month or two at the most. There are no long, drawn out campaigns that last 2 years or more. They also don't have campaign expenditures that rival the GDP of a small nation, like we do!! Corruption along with the debt situation and the very weak economy will be the primary issues this election season. Brown lacks the Tony Blair's ability to eloquently articulate his positions, making it more difficult to sell his party agenda to the public. David Cameron, the conservative leader, has a reputation for being too close to big business, hurting him with large segments of the electorate. ... Read more

Thu Apr 08 2010Although the UK doesn't cut that wide a swath in the world these days, we must take note of this coming event. The Conservatives were way ahead previously but the margin has tightened considerably. Labour PM Gordon Brown is probably the least charismatic prime minster in the history of Britain and may well lose his job.The big picture is that the United Kingdom is flying apart. More than half a dozen parties will win seats in the election and this alone may lead to a hung parliament where no party wins a majority. The country can still get along. Witness Canada where minority governments are not uncommon. The three big players are Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. Labour has most of its seats in Scotland, Wales, London and the English Midlands. Conservative seats are found almost totally in England south of the Trent River. The Liberal Democrats have many seats in Scotland, Southern England and Southwest England. The threats are the Scottish Nationalists that won the... Read more

Thu Apr 08 2010Well, hopefully, the UK can get some better MPs in there, especially after that expense scandal. It's an expense scandal that is pretty disgusting, but unfortunately, most of our politicians are in the exact same boat. I'll post a link below for those unfamiliar. I always wish the UK the best, so I hope the election benefits them. http://abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=756728 9&page=1
