I am new to the mk series my first Mk was the 3rd one not ultimate. I decided to pick this game up at my local Video game store 15 used. When I turn my Ds on it was a trip down memory lane. Sure some people say it's chessey or lame graphics. I considre it magic. I recommend this game to mk fans and new comers alike but beware this game can get hard after the 4th level. At first I barley made it to th 3rd level with a little practice I did fattalties and combos. I then made it to the boss kahn and beat him. Great game great buy .

The best part about this game for the Nintendo DS is the recreation of UMK3 from the arcade machine. The puzzle one sucked, so that's why I like UMK3 a lot better. Plus, the puzzle one could have been dropped to make room for Raiden, Baraka, Noob Saibot replacing masked Sub-Zero, Rain, Johnny Cage, Kintaro and Goro. If necessary, Shao Kahn should be playable. The MK1 and 2 stages, too. Plus, it could have featured tutorials on how to do combos, stage fatalities, Shang Tsung's morphs, et cetera. If Midway or the MK team were to take these suggestions, then there wouldn't be a reason to challenge the title of the game: Ultimate Mortal Kombat. By the way, I can't understand why Midway wouldn't make any ending portraits as used in MK3. You know the moral: pictures are worth a thousand words! Buy this game!

I waited 3 weeks wanting the ultimate mortal kombat game.I watched youtube over n over again videos of mortal kombat matches n attacks .Then I got it and it did not have all the attacks on it it had 5 attcks each where usualy you get 10 to 12 attacks each.I wish I could have been able to give the makers of the game some advice for good games.Cuz it would have been THE COOLEST handheld game if it had all of them...so i give the game 3 in a half. i would bet some @$$ if it had them all.

It reminded me of the old Game Genesis versions of the Mortal Kombat games. Yet it was a bit more advance as it also had this Puzzle Kombat from Deadly Alliance.

This is a very fun game, I been playing to a lot since I got it and I don't see any sings of slowing down. I would highly recommend it to any fighting game fan, MK fan, as it's a good game on the go. The online is fun as I played quite a few matches but I lost most of them (just you wait people I need a wee bit more practice)! One con is that it doesn't all the characters from Ultimate Mortal Kombat but that's ok as it's still a fun game.

When I was growing up I was a huge Mortal Kombat junkie. Mortal kombat 2 really broke so many barriers as far as one-on-one fighting games go, and I remember spending countless hours learning fatalities and mastering my skills with all of the characters. I'd be at the arcade too plugging quarters away to check out the latest mortal kombat installments and couldn't wait for them to be released to a gaming system. So after buying a DS I was pretty stoked to see this game and figured I knew what I was buying with all the experience I had with mortal kombat games. I must have spent about 45 minutes playing this game and havent touched it since. It's just so frustrating to go out of your way and spend 30 dollars on a brand-name that you trust only to be let down by some foolish programmers choices. Fatalities have always intrigued me and I love performing them, and when I was younger I remember performing all of them with general ease, but with this? FORGET ABOUT IT... You have about a ...
