Zzzzzzzzzzz.... huhwhat? There's a book here, hmm...vampires, werewolves, underage girls? Something has gone wrong in dating land when necrophilia and bestiality are your best relationship options...

Stephanie Meyer is a fantastic businesswoman. She managed to write a book with no literary merit, no originality, and which offers nothing to books or the world. Which at best teaches young girls nothing and at worst teaches them that being rude, whiny and self-centered will get you everything and the best boys are the ones that stalk you and hurt you so long as they're physically attractive. She managed to write what, in an ideal world, she would've been put in a mental institution immediately for attempting to pass it off as a book intended for pre-teens. She managed all of this and made millions of cushy cushy dollars off a story that took her probably a month to write and edit, not including all the time she spent fantasizing about her amazing boyfriend Edward. I mean, Bella's amazing boyfriend Edward. Maybe I'm just a bit vindictive as someone who loves to write. Maybe I'm over analytical. Or maybe Twilight fans hate to be wrong. I've taken writing classes. I've taken literature ... Read more

This is definitely the best in the series. I got completely caught up in the story and could not put the book down. This is when I fell in love with Edward, Emmett and James, and realizes that Bella was quite possibly the most annoying female character ever written. The story is not Shakespeare, and may not be considered "literary fiction", but it's popular fiction, and it appeals to young and old reader's alike.

** spoiler alert ** WARNING> This review *sparkles* in sunlight. Banal. Horribly written. Trite. Yeah, I know many of you are rolling your eyes. You’ve heard it all before and you either 1)disagree with the criticism OR 2) agree with the criticism but love the story anyway. You’re about to enlighten me with the following wisdom: GET OVER IT! OK, so Twilight is not exactly great literature BUT the story is amazing, Edward is every girl’s dream, this is a sweet and romantic, albeit light and fluffy, vampiric romp, RELAX and enjoy! Also, Edward is sooo hot!! To you I say: Bite Me. I have a lot of issues with this book besides the fact that it is horribly written. Boring characters, weak character development, characters I just don’t give a damn about. Bella: Boring. Clumsy and beautiful, but she doesn’t know she’s attractive even though every boy in the school is in love with her. Edward: Perfect. Brooding, angst-ridden, and perfect. He’s remained chaste for nearly 100 years? And... Read more

I loved Twilight. The romance was beautiful (although perhaps not necessarily depicting a healthy relationship) and the scenery was gorgeous. Beautiful story with great action and writing that flowed surprisingly well.

I'm so addicted to this series and this is the book that started my addiction. I cannot stop thinking about the charachters in this book as you are reading they seem so real like you will run into them on the street someplace. Highly recommend buying the whole saga taking a weeks vacation and reading all the books straight through!! Totally worth it!

I am a 21 year old male. Throughout my entire life, I have always disliked reading. I have never been able to finish a book. It always felt like a chore to read and I could never feel as connected to a book as I have felt to movies. So after the twilight movie came out all I heard about was twilight, I decided to watch the movie. I like the movie so I ended up ordering the books. Between the Authors writing style and the story she was writing I felt immediately connected. I could reading 200 pages in one sitting without even glancing away from the book. I felt every emotion that the main character (Bella) felt. I felt as if I was apart of her world and I was standing next to her as she was going through her life. Stephenie Meyer has inspired me to read. I read all 4 of the series in 10 days after I got them. Before that i have never finished a book in my life. So if you aren't much of a reader, I suggest trying this out. It will have you immediately locked into the fantasy world of... Read more

Who doesn't love a cute, intriguing, forbidden vampire? If you read the first page, you won't put it down. I read night and day, I was hooked and couldn't get enough. Meyer's writing drew me in like no other book. I was in the story; I was Bella and couldn't get enough of her life. Every book just added fuel to my want for this world. As soon as I opened one book I was thrust into another world until I closed the book.

I got this because of the hype and the long commute between work and home. Really enjoyed it! Better than getting irritated with stop and go traffic on the freeways. Now I look forward to my drive. I ended up purchasing the entire series.
