Tue May 18 2010I've only had it once in a Chinese restaurant on a Bike trip out West. It was an okay beer if memory serves. I may order it again if I can find it, just because it is fun to say. However, if the item-description is correct and this is in fact a German beer, then it does not hold up to most German brews.

Sun Jan 31 2010It's good. . .but it's a great beer to start a conversation with a smart girl who you want to impress with your travel stories. . . It's a better conversation piece than a beer. Try it just to say you've tried it then move on. . .

Sun Aug 02 2009This is the nastiest crap I have ever come across. It kind of reminds me of that taste you get when you throw up in your mouth. I feel like i'm taking crazy pills. How could this piss in a bottle get such good reviews????

Sun Jun 21 2009In my opinion, Tsingtao is nothing mind-blowing, though it is a solid good-quality beer. I think that the reason I do not like it more is because it is a pilsner. It is crisp and refreshing, but I am just not big on pilsners. As far as Asian beers go, I prefer Asahi (which is Japanese).

Fri Feb 13 2009Tsingtao always goes good with Kung Poa.

Thu Feb 12 2009German lager, made in China. Better than any of the American big brewery lagers, but no better than average as a beer.

Thu Feb 12 2009Good with our version of Chinese food. Otherwise there is no reason to drink it.

Fri Feb 08 2008Interesting flavor, light in nature beer.

Mon Jan 21 2008Comparible to American macro-brewed products like Bud, etc. but with a little more character. A good enough choice with Chinese food if the choices are limited. A bit watery.

Thu Dec 27 2007Not bad, but not one of my favorite asian beers.

Mon Dec 17 2007This is a malty beer that the Germans transplanted into China. Tsingtao was once a German colony before WWI.

Thu Nov 22 2007Garbage, like everything else from China.

Thu Nov 15 2007A great Japanese import!

Wed Nov 14 2007on my list of far-east beers, Tsingtao ranks below Tiger and Soporro.

Sun Jan 21 2007Every time i have chinese food, i have tsingtao, the two are inseparable for me. The beer is a fair example of a germanesque lager, nothing extra-ordinary, but well made nontheless.

Tue Jan 16 2007Insipid adjunct-laden Chinese pale lager. This doesn't even aim to be good beer.

Mon Jan 15 2007I love this stuff. Very well balanced taste that goes great with food. Has a slightly sticky, ricey sweetness that I really enjoy. Very distinct and characteristic brew. Where's the pepper steak?

Fri Mar 10 2006EH, I never heard of this beer EH? You dudes should try a nice, frosty budweiser.

Fri Feb 03 2006Very light. Good with Asian food.

Wed Aug 31 2005A good clean, crisp tase with no after taste. Served at lots of real deal Chinese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley section of Southern California (which has a considerable mainland Chinese population).

Wed Jun 15 2005Best of the chinese beers, has a nice malty sweetness and not over carbonated. This beer was fist brewed by Germans living in China, the style is that of a pilsner. The alcohol level is that of a light beer but it's not a light beer so it loses a star.

Thu Jun 24 2004The beer is okay. But if you ever get to Tsingtao take the tour of the brewery. It's incredible, the highlight being watching 156 yr old Chinese delivery men strap fifty cases to their rickety little bikes and ride away.....

Fri Apr 02 2004Goes well nicely with Chinese food. I'd rather have this than the big brand lagers.

Sun Feb 15 2004Good beer made in the mold of a German pilsner.

Thu Jun 05 2003Nothing dramatic about this beer: just a nice, solid drinkable product, but not at all earthshattering.

Thu May 08 2003The only Place I would or can order this one is a chinese resturant. Served to cold and mostly tastes like water!

Mon Apr 21 2003The only reason I ever drink this garbage is because I love ordering it. When this Chinese beer is pronounced correctly you're saying something nasty in Spanish.

Tue Jun 19 2001ugggh I can't believe Tsingtao is rated this high. I can almost swear they put formaldahide in it for the bitterness.

Sat Jun 09 2001As much as I love the Northern European beers (Grolsh, Urquell, and Stella), and as much as I love the American specialities (like Sam Adams, and Sierra Nevada), I've got to hand it to the Chinese that they did things right with Tsingtao

Mon May 28 2001Extremely tastey and rich!

Fri May 25 2001This is truly one of the world's best beers - try it if you can, it's a wonderful experience - strong texture and a proper level of alcohol content

Mon May 14 2001Like Dos Equis, this beer is based on a German recipe (German immigrants usually build a church and a brewery as their first contirubition to a new land) For me, it comes out as a winner. Anybody know the *correct* pronunciation? Tsing-tao, Ching-doa?
by camerracht
Fri Apr 27 2001Not bad! Although, I had trouble with the food, the beer had to taste good! Better than green tea all the time.
