I work for a large company in the Pac-West building. We do a holiday party every year at a very upscale club in the Portland area. This year the company gave Trees a shot at our party. I would say there was about 200 people there give or take a few. Let me just say WOW!! I was blown away. The staff was friendly and very professional. The food just to die for. They did 5 or 6 different buffet tables with all kinds of appetizers on each one. I loved the chocolate mousse with almonds & their mini burgers & pulled pork. They changed the space into a lounge type setting. In the lower area they had couches and groupings of furniture and also they had a jazz band. Cocktails were just fantastic!! I was drinking a pomegranate martini. I don't know, I just was blown away with the transformation and the whole night. Just wanted to pass this along to anyone planning a party, this place was one of the best ones yet.

Good Grief! Extremely pathetic that you can't get a manager or server to your table and let them know that the food you ordered is not up to your standard or you didn't like it. The waive of the future I guess is to passive aggressively write a bad review and hope total failure and demise over a bad sandwich. Was this review helpful? Helpful to see how we have become a society who wants revenge over bad service and food. I have been here many times. Great food and service. Jamie you are a rockstar! Get a life.

We would like to say thank you to those who took the time last year to write positive reviews and to those who came to see us despite the bad. Shannon and I have tried not to concern ourselves with the bad reviews. We have always said we grow and learn from the negative feedback not the positive. It is a bit upsetting when our names are publicly put in reviews. Seems like a personal attack and bashing to me. The bad reviews seem so angry and over the top. What can you do? We hope to provide a great service and great food and this is the best we can do and hope all will come and try us based on the positive. Come visit us on face book and meet our staff who are truly are our family. On another note I have truly disliked some places I have eaten but have never been as angry as some of these people are. Go figure.

This is a great hidden restaurant in the Pac-West building down town. They just changed their menu and I have been twice since, I had the Halibut Sandwich with sweet potato fries, LOVED IT!! And I also had the Tree's Lasagna, first of all it's huge, Love the sauce oh..... the grilled bread, fantastic!!! Great job Tree's. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Our service was fast and attentive and the Manager Michelle always comes by to say hi and see if everything is ok. They are just doing it right. I will be back and bring all my clients there for lunch/happy hour.

I don't know what these people are talking about.... are you sure you ate at this restaurant???? I eat here twice a week sometimes 3 times, and I love their burgers, hand made, you can taste it. The Sicily burger is strange but it goes together very well, kind of like the combination thats in a rueben. And what type of person won't tell their server that they don't like their food but will spend the time to write negative reviews??? Makes ya wonder!!! Great job Tree's I'll be back!!!

Okay. From the outside this place looks elegant and serene. On the inside a totally different story. The service first of all was horrendous. Water served in a warm glass with room temperature water (no ice). Bread was like a rock. We should have left. Manager was more worried about looking important than ensuring her guests were happy. Server seemed to disappear and when she came back stood around gossiping with her co-workers. We had to interrupt to order our meal. It took forever to get our simple lunch. 2 burgers. The sicily burger (i agree with the other reviewer) was a saturated hockey puck (ordered medium) and the "crispy" pancetta was like chewing on spare tire. There was so much balsamic vinegar on it I couldn't eat it. I could see my friend took only one bite of her burger (what she ordered I forget). Improper etiquette to complain during a business lunch. I decided to pay the tab (over $20.00) and we left. The funny part is that an hour later we ran into each other at the St... Read more

Stopped in here and the first thing I noticed on the menu was mozzarella engrossa well its suppose be is mozzarella in carozza " mozzarella in a carriage"when a chef doesn't take the time check the spelling of menu item before putting on the menu you know your in for a treat. Well I had the sicily burger way to much going on not to mention there was nothing sicilian about it smoked aioli balsamic tomatoes blue cheese pancetta it was like a war in your mouth not to mention it was cooked to death I mean some poor animal gave its life for this.I looked at the Dinner menu straigt out of the eighties with Ten01 prices.Out of curiosity I went to the web site and found out the chef was the same one from pesaros I think it was open for about six months before it folded some of the worst italian food enwhere..

Give me a break! Website hours are WRONG. Closed at 7:45 pm. Called and rude man who called me "Bro" said they were doing "summer hours". Tried to reserve a party for 8:45-9:00pm. The guy says "oh we'll be closed by then". But the hours of operation state 'til 11PM! Gee Thanks guys!! In this economy I feel this place will fail miserably. Businesses do not succeed making their potential customers angry. By the way - I'm not your BRO!! OH YEAH, the Next Pinot Noir Bottled By King Estate 750ml 2007 is some of the cheapest Pinot Noir on the market at 15$ a bottle and is a high volume wine. True wine aficionado's stay away from this type. You all have a lot to learn.

Do NOT, I repeat... DO NOT spend your money here! The worst food (spoiled and foul calamari) I have had in YEARS. The music was so obnoxious I had a headache. The bartender had a very bad attitude and acted like he was god's gift to this earth.I came in happy and left angry and perturbed. This business WILL fail. Good riddance. FUGETABOUTIT?.... Forget out your business making it.

I come from a big Italian family full of great cooks who know that simple fresh ingredients make amazing meals. Tree's nailed it for me! The calmari is the best I have ever had, the filet was insane - like buttah! The salmon was to die for (my man ordered it), perfectly cooked - I NEVER order salmon at restaurants because most places slaughter it, not here, to my amazement! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, service was just enough and never annoying. They kept the vino flowing and the table clean. The chef came to our table to check on us, her name is Shannon and she made us feel welcome - very unexpected. We will be back with clients and friends for lunch and dinner and happy hour! Thank you for bringing Tree's to Portland, a welcome change from the boring, uninventive restaurants in town. Much success to you. This place is a must for Portlanders who appreciate a real restaurant! Ciao!

I have experienced better. I was given a coupon for this place so I thought I'd give it a try. Finding this place is a bit of a challenge. It actually took us 20 minutes to find suitable parking. Accessibility is HORRIBLE with the way the streets are one-way. We were looking for a sign and couldn't find it. We had no idea what the Pac West Tower looked like and we finally found it. Can't really drive around the block with all the no right turns on 5th avenue. Had no idea there was a parking garage there.Couldn't even tell a restaurant was in there. The building looked deserted. Hardly any business there. Sad. We got great friendly service from the server. The food was less than desirable for the price. Flavor was bland and it took awhile to get our food. Unless we get another buy one get one free, we probably won't be back. Not recommended unless you got a coupon. Hard to see how this place stays afloat. Get better signage people. Also it's almost summer in Oregon. Outside seating wou... Read more

Sounds like Walkerzz is an owner trying to write false positive reviews about their business. A little to descriptive, like a commercial. Anyways, the food is not the greatest. Service okay. Pain in the neck to get to, especially with the way the streets are marked now. Too far to walk for dining for the show I went to at the Arlene Schnitzer. This place will not last. No restaurant has ever made it here. Good luck.

RIDICULOUSLY badly managed place. Owners have a complex about themselves and the rudest I've ever dealt with. To think I spent time and money here makes me sick. Not to mention unless you actually have the executive chef prepare your food, good luck on the quality. Chef Ramsey from Hlls-Kitchen.... GO TO TREE'S!!!

Let me start out by saying that the last guy Bah Humbug. Well everyone knows Scrooge didn't like much anyway so boo to you sir. would say either this person has a personal issue with one of the owners or is the competition or was fired, And what's up with trying to sabotage someone's dream. With that said I have eaten there numerous times and love the food and the service is friendly and fast as well. I also love the fact that they now have live music on thursday nights and will stay open as long as there is customers even if its just me and a friend. It is also great to have a place to go after a show at the Scnitzer or the Keller or even after a movie. And as stated in a previous post the chef will cater to special requests if they have the ingredients. All in all great place. And I will eat there again and again.

I think it's sad that owners (obviously) have to try and help their restaurant by putting false good reviews of their restaurant. There is a reason they stopped serving breakfast, and almost after a year in business, their dinner is non-existent and I see why. Totally overpriced for what you get and the food is nothing to rave about. The chicken I had was beat up and leathery. The manager loves to have her voice overheard throughout the dining room. Sit in the atrium people if you go here and want some peace. BTW people on a business lunch usually don't complain if their food is bad. They just grin and bear it usually.

The restaurant was very crowded when we arrived and so I wasn't expecting great service. Our waitress was Jaimie and she made the restaurant worth coming back to. She addressed us by name, she was attentive to our needs, her timing was impeccable (appetizer, entree, desert, refill, etc.). She never made us feel rushed, and she always maintained her composure and professionalism. Jaimie is a model server and should serve as the archetypal mold for all customer service employees. With all of the poise and expertise she portrayed, one would think her name was "Marge" with over 20 years of experience. However, Jaimie is young and has a smile that can brighten a cloudy sky. Oh, and the food was great too!

This poor restaurant won't be here for long. I wonder how long their lease is? As with previous owners at this location here goes another gross disappointment. Be careful of the fish... don't say I didn't warn you.

I think it is sad that someone would bash Tree's so bad when nothing could be farther from the truth. Not only is it convenient but Tree's has proven to be a fantastic new addition to the neighborhood. I too work in the building and my co-workers and I frequent the restaurant often and find it neither to be bland or tasteless. Wondering if maybe this is a disgruntle employee. I have waited for a year plus for something to come to this building that I would be proud of and I can say Tree's is doing a great job across the board with flavor and price. So keep doing what your doing. Myself and co-workers will be back.

I work in the same building as this restaurant. When they opened I was so excited! But, after trying it several times I can truely say its convenience is its only virtue. The sauces are all too bland, for example if you like blue cheese salad dressing you can barely identify it as blue cheese. Every side dish is tasteless. The barbecue sauce is so sweet you could choke on it. I've tried the burger, the tuna, the nachos (which was pretty good), the halibut and chips, the breakfast scramble, etc. I kept telling myself that the longer it was opened it would improve, but it hasn't. I have spoken to 5 other people that work in my office that have eaten there and everyone has the same opinion. It is a waste of money.

My girlfriend and I stopped in after work for happy hour. We were seated promptly and the atmosphere was great. The happy hour menu was pretty large and surprisingly inexpensive!! We split a calamari $(4), I had the meatball sub w/fries ($4) and my girlfriend had the seared ahi ($6). The food was great and we were served very quickly. Our server was very pleasant and took very good care of us. I will recommend Tree's to all of my friends!!

Every time I go in there I can say that I feel special. What great lil restaurant. As high as the UNEMPLOYMENT rate is and the dragging ECONOMY, i never thought this place would make it. But it has proven to be a great addition to the district and neighborhood. Keep up the good work. GREAT fish n chips!!!!

Great food, great services, great prices and great atmosphere. Finally. Tree's was packed for lunch and rightly so. The Smoked Beef Salad was awesome. I checked out the other menus before I left and am definitely trying out the dinner menu. I had the opportunity to meet the Chef and the passion was refreshing. I hope this non corporate business does well. They deserve to with so many restaurants missing the mark on food quality and service. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Went to the Keller to see a show & found a new little hot spot. Tree's is right inside the PacWest tower, it has a cool feel to the place with a great bar. The menu had everything from a burger to a ribeye with portabello mushrooms, which is what I had for dinner. It was cooked perfectly, portion was generous and had great flavor. The feel of the restaurant is very relaxing, the music was right on, lighting not to bright, not to dim. My server was on it, I didn't have to wait for anything and she listened to what I needed and just took care of it. I had a nice cold class of Stella beer & I "toast" Tree's I will be back & I will be telling all of my friends. Thanks for a GREAT experience!!

I can't tell you how happy I am to have Tree's right next door. Everything that comes out of that kitchen is consistantly of the highest quality and prepared to perfection. Chef Shannon has very impressive credentials and is amazingly gifted. Michelle has unending energy and great ideas. Some say its crazy to open a restaurant in the dead of winter in the midst of a recession. I say, come see these two women in action and you will see why they will be successful, no matter what. Check it out. Portlands newest restaurant. They deserve 6 stars.****** Debra Brocato Alameda Floral
