Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

Todays version of the Keystone Cops.They harass just about everyone except the REAL terrorists.No matter how much technology you have,if it is commandeered by idiots it's unlikely to do much good.Personally I'd rather take my chances of being blown up mid-flight than to spend 10 hours at the airport having my rectum examined and nuts fondled by some fat dude.

Sure, they're this season's punching bag, but rightfully so. Besides the absurdities (like confiscating your "dangerous" water bottle . . only to throw it in an open plastic bin at the extremely-crowded security checkpoint area. If you're really afraid that's going to blow up, I doubt that the container they'd toss it in should be made by Rubbermaid), and the humiliation (like patting down a three year old, forcing a flight attendant to remove their breast implants for viewing, and spilling urine all over a cancer survivor), there's also a serious health risk: there are multiple reports that TSA workers are not changing gloves as often as they should be between searches. Eww. Come on. That's just gross. I would think that, if they're going to grope me (without buying me dinner first), they should at least have the common courtesy of getting a fresh pair of gloves. Okay....these pricks are totally out of control. Should I tell the story of the woman whose prosthetic breast had to be photographed this past Friday? Or the 61 year old man, bladder cancer survivor whose (whatever) bag was ruptured a few days ago during a search? Back in late 02, right here in my home town, these jackasses tried to pull a 92 year old woman from a wheelchair for a pat-down. She'd just had a double mastectomy and still had stitches under both armpits. When her son protested, it got ugly and he went to jail. Anyone think this is funny? The people blowing up airplanes are not white and black grandmas. You people know who they are....question is...why do we stand for this fascist garbage?

The TSA is becoming an intrusive bunch of idiots. The 'underwear' bombing incident happened a year ago, and now all of a sudden, we have intrusive airport scans. It won't stop me from flying, but this is pretty fucked up. What I don't believe is that 75% of Americans support the new screening measures? I don't get that at all. Flying now w/the standard security is fine. People who want to go on terror sprees are going to do so, regardless of if there are full body scans. It's just a waste of money and an invasion of privacy.

Wow!!!!! America has been soo lucky that they have not had to deal with terrorism like most countries! It's realativertly new with homebound terrorism compared to allot of European counties! When I first entered the US, I will have to admit that apart from the OTT questions you got from immigration officers, on the most part my entrance and exit was easy! To be honest it still is, nowadays US travelers should be consided the biggest moaners when it comes to lining up for security and having searches! (I have traveled and can vouch for this!) I think the quote of the week has got to be "my civil rights are being probed by searches" The whole point of the TSA was and is a security service to help prevent horrible events like 9/11! Yep, another bloated government bureaucracy. Except this one was created by the Shrub, George Dubya Bush after the arab attacks on 9/11. This was one of the parts of Shrub's plan to piss on the Constitution. For our "protection" of course...

I read somewhere that there have only been two developments that have made us safer as air travelers since 9/11 - reinforcing the cockpit doors, and passengers realizing that once airborne, they will need to take potential hijackers down, or they will likely die. This opinion doesn't give much credit to TSA. And I tend to agree with it. To be fair, I do remember noticing a slight increase in professionalism TSA took over airport security. More importantly there haven't been any successful terrorist attacks on US airlines since 9/11. That should count for something. But the long lines, and the patting down of grandmothers, and the frequent patting down of me despite my friendly and cordial nature, and the confiscation of my shaving cream, and the airlines sneaky move to charge $25 per checked bag, and TSA's sneaky confiscating of all my toiletries if I don't pay up, and the panic about keeping zip lock bags handy - it all strikes me as a costly attempt to make us FEEL safer.
