I owned an '89 Celica GT with the 22R motor and five speed. Sort of like a 4 cyl. Camry that looked cooler and handled better. Hard for an old guy to get in and out of. Was very enjoyable to drive and was very reliable. Purchased with about 85K miles on it drove it for another 100K and sold it for about $1000 less than I paid for it. It still ran fine when sold. I think I was getting about 30 mpg if I stayed under 70 mph. It has sports-car type final gear ratio so the motor is running at higher rpms than a Camry sedan would be at the same speed. This gives really good acceleration but you lose some gas mileage due to the higher engine speed. This car was very well equipped with a/c, cruise, nice stereo, very good seats, nice fit & finish, and the steering wheel was more adjustable than the typical tilt wheel.

I drive a 2000 Celica GT sports coupe, and it's a very fun and reliable car to drive. Good acceleration, great gas mileage, comfortable interior with user-friendly controls, and a moonroof to boot- it's simply a nice car to drive to work, or to just drive to the coast for the day and enjoy the cool breeze (especially here in California).

There's no 4 cylinder sports car out there that can compete with a celica Gt-s look wise and/or performance wise. I love driving my car. I have raced so many cars, I can't count on my fingers and toes including, Rsx type S, Integras, tiburons, srt-4, accords, and many more i outran them all, i'm not saying that statistically my car is faster then all of them no, but once i hit the corners... BYE,BYE... Crazy handling, accelerates very fast, especially with the variable valve timing which kicks in at bout 6000 rpms... It's a car you must have if you're into sports cars, TRUST ME.....

I drive about 60,000 miles per year. I've owned 6 Celicas, a Supra and a 4Runner (and just bought a vintage Supra). Every single one of them had over 300,000 miles on them when I Sold them in running condition, except the '89 with the 3S-FE engine. (The 4Runner has 309,000 with the 22-R engine and I'm still driving it). The Supras are nothing but Celicas on steroids and are a blast to drive! If you want a car that's fun and dependable and the best looking thing around, go Celica! (Or, you could settle for an inferior Mustang or Camaro if you don't want quality.)

A good sports car, but it stands no chance against, lets say, a Mustang or Firebird. The V4 in any sports car is terrible. The V6 has strong power, but if you want a REAL sports car, get something with a V8.

I love my 93 celica, it runs strong and is completely reliable. The body styling is sleek and the sporty features make it very appealing. It's not the top of the line sports car, but it's a great car for anyone. My GT-coupe has almost 150,000 miles on it and still performs well with minimum upkeep, i.e. regular oil changes, tune-ups, ect. Newer celicas are just as nice but I like the design of the 90-93 models the best. I recommend a celica to most people. If they want a top of the line sports car I'd go for a supra, and if they prefer suv's I'd go with a 4runner. Just keep it toyota!

What more could you ask for in a sports car? The Celica is near perfect. The Celica's slick eye-catching style, race inspired VVT-i DOHC engine and superb build quality will kick every domestic ass out there. Of course, if you still need more horses you can always move up to the Supra.

I own a 2000 Celica GT and it is the most balanced car I have ever owned. Wonderful handling, substantial power, unreal styling, and a great interior. I would greatly recommend this car.

I'm giving it a ONE because the new version of the celica looks like absolute feces. Now, the old celicas looked nice, but they were just Supra wannabes. It's only salvation is that it came from the same company (Toyota). The celicas are nothing compared to the Supras. Supras are top of the line, exotic supercars. Celicas are average "sporty" cars for average people. Supras are elite. The celicas are like the Supras deformed, runt twin brother, like Danny Devito in "Twins". -solrac- soon 2 b mkiv tt 6 spd

The Celica, how can we not like this car? It has always been the under-dog of what people really want in a car! So many models to choose, they made one for just about everyone. The amount of torque the old celica's have makes up for the loss of hp. But those new Y2K celi's are amazing. Quick.. so don't go getting yourself in trouble! Clayton http://celica.excelland.com

This car is definatly under-rated. It is one of the most reliable, dependable cars I have ever owned. (Maybe that is why I've got 3 of them.) The All-Trac/GT-4 is an absolute classic. Fun, sporty, fast and definatly ahead of its time. The Celica also has deep roots in rally racing where it has dominated the world championship again and again. The 3SGTE is probably one of the best 4cyl. motors in the world, maybe thats why they use it in Japanese GT Supras?

A great little car that seems to do everything. Great handling and reliability. Great looks, no matter what the year. Exceptional gas mileage (30 + MPG on the highway). Power is adequate in the GT and GTS models and outstanding in the AlTrac.

I own a 90 Celica GT-S, and absolutly love it. it dirves the best of all the sports cars i have driven, (99 mustang, 90 talon TSi, honda preludes(88 and 93), 92 Acura Integra(modified), and even a 98 mistsubishi Eclipse). i would never trade this car for anything other than a Celica, newer or older, its the name, performance, and reliability im after. its not the fastest car out there, but it is extremly under-rated.

This is the first and only car that I have begun to work with. I must say, it's very versitle. It may be no 9-second drag car, but with care and great consideration, it is a formidable road race/autocross car. It has taken me from point A to point B, it's been very reliable, and it's fun to drive. It may not be the fastest car on the road, but, by golly, it's fun. If a person were to ask a Celica-owner how he/she feels about his/her Celica, I'm sure the response would be, "I love my Celica."

I purchased my 97 ST new, and it has not given me any problems at all. I can count on its reliability and quality construction. The handling on this car is very good, and has saved me from disaster a number of times. Now that I know what to expect from this car, I will probably spend the extra money to purchase the high end celica next time.

The toyota celica is a solid car ... i would say it's a supra/corolla hybrid ... has the corolla's sturdiness, reliability and good milage if you want to drive it that way. It also has the supras attitude , eagerness and stick on the corners (or is it the other way around :) )...my 1991 celica is at 125000 miles and still going hard ... If i were to get one wish answered this holiday season: I wish for a new celica GTS . PLZ

The interior is near perfect design, while the body is a work of art. I currently have 60k on the car and it performs like the day it came off the floor. Toyota is reknown for thier reliablity and performance, this car has both. While not as fast in a straight line as some cars, it really shines in the corners. Where it can hang with the best of them. If you're considering buying one -- DO IT....the interior is comfortable and is well suited for long trips. I average about 27-29 mpg, so it fairly cheap to operate as well

I own a 1993 Celica GT-S and I absolutely LOVE the car. It's reliable, efficient (has better fuel economy than even my family car (both of them)!!), quick, and solid. It corners very well, accelerates quickly, and runs smoothly. I've never had any problems with it. I definitely recommend the Celica to anyone who's looking for a sports coupe at a reasonable price.

The Toyota Celicas are grossly under rated. It is one of the most reliable cars that I have ever owned. I have owned Ford, Nissan, GM and numerous Toyotas, including supras. I bought an 84 Celica when I first got my license (at age of 16), I am now 26 and own 3 different Celicas. I have a 76 GT, 87 GT and 89 all-trac. I enjoy them all, each one is pleasurable to drive in their own ways. I have yet driven a sports car that I enjoyed as much as the Celica all-trac.

The Toyota Celica is one of the best cars on the road certainly one of the longest lasting. I am proud to say that at over 80,000 miles this car has been trouble-free with only scheduled maintance required my Celica is running as strong as ever. As far as performance: the car handles curves like it on rails, the powerful accelerations is enough to give you a bit of an adrenaline rush which will surely put a smile on your face. These are beautiful cars from the inside out.

An excellent car in almost any incarnation. I have had a 94 Celica ST coupe for over 3 years now and I couldnt be happier. It is reliable, it accelerates and corners well. All and all I think this is one of the best looking, most reliable cars ever made. At 120K miles I have had no more than the usual preventative maintainance done on this car.

My '92 Celica Convertible is the best car I've ever owned. It corners extraordinarily well, shifts smoothly, and gets good mileage. After 107,000 miles, it runs as well as it ever did, and has not given me any problems. I plan to keep it for at least another five years.
