Sun Sep 17 2006I just moved here and all the girls at the club mentioned Tootsies. I'm so glad they did! Excellent selection, customer care and beautiful, beautiful clothes, accessories and shoes! I bought a new Jimmy Choo Ramona bag in taupe plus shoes and had to stop shopping before my husband had a heart attack! Love it!

Sat Feb 11 2006After looking all over town for a simple yet elegant wedding dress I stopped in here because they sold a line of dresses I was interested in. The sales person was extremely helpful, and even though they didn't have exactly what I wanted he brought out the designer's book and said they could order any of the dresses . I ended up ordering one, but still wasn't sure. They let me take the dress home to think about it (and show my mom) and said I could bring it back if I changed my mind. The whole experience was so refreshing after spending dozens of hours in snooty bridal boutiques. I can see how some people might find this place a little pretentious--it seems like mainly rich older women from River Oaks shop here--but I had a good experience and every one was very helpful.

Wed Feb 08 2006I had never been to, or heard of, Tootsie's until today. A friend recommended it to me, and I went there to shop for a Valentine's Day dress for my girlfriend. Not one, but TWO, saleswomen helped me pick out the perfect dress (as it was clear I had no idea what I was doing). Yes, the prices are expensive, but they are basically what you would expect for the selection they offer. They also included a beautiful gift-wrap at no charge.

Wed Aug 17 2005i have to say that for the most part i agree with all of the negative reviews seen on this website. the sales people will flat out ignore you if you aren't wearing the right logos when walking into the store. it's so pathetic. the store's saving grace is that it really does have a great selection and you don't have to battle the galleria to get to it. parking is a cinch.

Mon Feb 21 2005I had a horrible experience. I was made to feel so inferior by a bunch of insecure, reconstructed people. They have to act so snob to feel that they can blend in with the "Rich" . Oh, I had money to spend, but heck if I was going to take that kind of treatment. I can get insulted eleswhere, thanks but no thanks; you're not that original.

Thu Mar 04 2004The sales people were rude and acted superior. I went in prepared to buy an outfit for a special occasion and left disgusted.

Mon Sep 15 2003The Scene This is a place where women who are serious about looking good--and have the means to pay premium prices--outfit themselves for life. The look is rich and hip but not too wild, with everything from ball gowns to casual wear to shoes and bags to jewelry and day planners. To learn about how the fashionable half lives, hang out at Tootsies and take in the conversations floating around. The Goods There's an impressive array from two of the hottest designers of the moment, Custo (he of the surprisingly affordable, cleverly designed T-shirts) and Lilly Pulitzer (yes, the pink-and-green preppy queen). The sale rack usually has a healthy selection of desirable items, with pretty embellished tank tops for less than $100.

Wed Jan 08 2003Before going to Tootsie's for the first time today, I read all of the reviews posted here. I was very apprehensive about going because of all the things written about the sales staff. But I decided to go anyway because they are having their bi-annual sale. My experience was more than pleasant. My salesperson was friendly and attentive and never once made me feel that I shouldn't be in the store. As a matter of fact, she made me feel quite welcome. I can't afford to shop there all the time, but I will definitely be back!

Thu Dec 19 2002While the clothing selection is up to par with that of boutique-like shops in Dallas and Austin, the service at Tootsies is down right classless. The women working in Tootsies seem to forget that they are working in a clothing store that should cater to all customers...they never know who is walking in. Just because I'm wearing a pair of jeans or a sweatsuit doesn't mean I can't drop some bucks!! Lesson: they would have more success if they didn't judge a book by its cover.

Mon Dec 16 2002I love their clothing and shoe selection, but if you are not "dressed to the nines" or drop mounds of cash when you shop at their store, you are snubbed.

Sun Nov 10 2002Tootsies is too expensive and the sales people only want to cater to those customers they see as "rich". I can afford the clothes there, but who would want to spent that much money for a dress? I take umbrage to the fact that a plain skirt can be $300 when the one I can make at home that is of much better quality and will last longer than a few dry cleaning.

Mon Nov 04 2002Okay, let's face it unless you make a pretty hefty salary or your inheritance is boasting with dollar signs, that place is definitely not the place the "young and chic" people shop! In my world the people who dress in the latest fashions are generally of the younger age group, none of which I know make the kind of money to spend at Tootsie's. One can only dream!
