he is an okay actor, but not a huge range of acting skills. He was in several movies I enjoyed but his face just does not have the potential to show all kinds of emotions, he just looks too serious.

Oh, he's a little full of himself. He's got these eyes, and they do there thing, but you have to remember, he's an actor. He doesn't REALLY bring himself to the big screen. I think he's really an alien. I heard he was a jewish mother in a past life, is that true?

He's not a bad actor. Just a complete @ss when you run into him in public here in San Antonio. A true @SS. But a pretty decent actor.

Another of my favourite ones! Strong character, excellent actor...what can I say? any movies he is in is just wonderfull to watch, whatever the case may be! Best wishes! For sure another man who should be holding more Oscars!

This guy had a pretty good resurgence in the 90s. He was awesome in "Cobb"! That was an Oscar winning performance but hey, at least he got one, even though it was for supporting actor, what's up with that. He has a leading man's acting ability. Still, what's up with those Men In Black movies? Has his career gone stagnant again like it did in the late 80s

Tommy Lee Jones has everything that a cool actor is supposed to have. He's a great actor (can play any part) has a cool voice and a tough attitude.

One of only a few actors that I love every role I've seen him perform.

Long before The Fugitive made him a major player in Hollywood Tommy Lee Jones was tearing through the big and small screen.Smart as a whip, built like a brickhouse with shark-black eyes, this guy wants you to know that he is not about to mess about on that there screen. I do miss films like Coal Miner's Daughter and Blue Sky (and a personal favorite of mine - Back Roads) where he is not afraid to be the woman's best supporting actor. I wish he would stop barking his way through recent big movies (although he does it better than anybody) and return to quieter films like the above and a highly underrated 1984 movie called The River Rat. But with upcoming movies like MIB 2 and The Hunted I don't see it happening. Wish he would play George Jones.

For some reason I didn't want to like Tommy Lee at first. But, he's kind of grown on me. I especially liked him in the Fugitive.

For those of you who think he plays the same role over and over again, go rent the Executioner's Song(he played Gary Gilmore, that's hardly a strong, silent-type cop role). He was also really good in Coal Miner's Daughter. The Executioner's Song is still my top Jones movie. Let him have some cheesy, easy roles these days. He paid his dues and has proven his talent. I wish I could recall the name of that TNT western where he was riding across the plains and some cowboy passing him, going the other way, asks him "What are you doing out here in God's country?"...Tommy Lee's character replies "Tryin' to get the hell across it before He sees me".

I think that Tommy Lee Jones is a great actor, and I'm right with Kim 11, he is sexy. Yes he does play pretty much the same character, but who cares. I don't hear anyone bitching about it. His characters are people who have you sitting in your seat going right on yeah that dude's cool. You can't help but love them.

An unlikely star he has made it as an actor in spite of marginal looks. Maybe that helps him seem authentic. Anyway I enjoy his work.

One of the best of the current actors. Stone faced but he has proven he can do the serious stuff and the comedy. Deserving academy award winner. Pretty versatile actor imo.

Unbelievable actor... in the likes of Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. In The Fugitive and The Men in Black films he was perfect to say the least.

I disagree with the notion that Tommy Lee Jones plays the same role over and over. I think Jones has more than proved his versatility. He's had a long and illustrious career, playing both dramatic and comedic roles. Of course no one can forget his performance as the relentless U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard in both The Fugitive and U.S. Marshals. However, Jones is not just limited to playing the hero. He did a good job in the Steven Segal action film Under Siege, in which he played the bad guy. Equally riveting was his performance as the homosexual Kennedy assassination conspirator Clay Shaw in Oliver Stone's 1991 film JFK. Jones' best performance was probably in Heaven and Earth. His performance in that film proves that Tommy Lee Jones can hold his own in deep, dramatic roles. However, let's not forget Jones' rather comedic roles (i.e. Natural Born Killers, Men in Black, Batman Returns. Other good Tommy Lee Jones films include Rules of Engagement, Double Jeopardy and Volcano. The bottom line... Read more

First of all, can this man be cooler? I'm sorry, there is no other actor I can think of who has his amazing presence...So suave, such machismo...And yes, he is attractive! I'm 16, and I think so!

Tommy Lee Jones is not the best looking man in Hollywood, but he has a face that is weatherbeaten and worn, with a lot of character. Because of that there are some roles that he would not be right for. He is not a pretty-boy. He is perfect for the role of a cynical US Marshal or a tired alien investigator. Because of his limitations we should not fault him for playing similar roles, we should praise him for playing those roles better than anyone in Hollwood.

If you think TLJ only plays U.S. Marshall type roles, then you must go out and rent "Broken Vows". It is a far cry from Gerard, and he is mesmerizing in it! Another good one to rent is "Blue Sky", which Jessica Lang won a best supporting actress award for. And then there is "Cobb". None of these are for the kids, mind you, but if you are old enough to see these - do yourself a favor!
