We gave this watch to our six-year-old girl once she had learned how to tell time. For about two weeks, she would not take it off except at bath time (it is waterproof). The wristband is easy to operate and has been dependable for us so far (we have had it for about a month); the band will loosen over time, so we do need to cinch it up occasionally. The watch is attractive and keeps time accurately. It ticks softly every second, which I think is a good way of learning about the passage of time. There is a little flower that moves with the second hand -- very cute. There are two rows of numbers around the watch -- one set of the 1 to 12 numbers and also an outer set of 5 to 60 (by fives). This second set of numbers is what makes it so helpful for 'watch learners.' I highly recommend it!

I have been looking for a "time teaching" watch for some time now. I like this watch for the following reasons: 1) The elastic band makes it easy on and off, but not so much that it will slide off by itself. 2) Hour hand is green and points to the green hour numbers 3) Minute hand is purple and points to the purple minute numbers 4) Has an actual second hand, although it does have a flower that sweeps along with it (I saw some that JUST had the sweeping flower/butterfly/etc. but wanted an actual hand.) 5) I like that the face is divided into "past" and "to", BUT (here's my only complaint)... I would prefer the minutes to continue counting by 5s all the way up to 55, instead of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5. I understand the logic (being able to read "25 minutes to" the next hour) but still think it should have "35" instead. I prefer to teach my child to count BACK in five minute increments if I want her to read it that way. Let's face it, will children eve... Read more

I tried to purchase this exact watch today at Target, and a message cam eacross the register that it had been recalled and not to sell it. I tried looking it up on the internet, but couldn't find any answers, and the people at the store did not know why. Just a word of caution...

Great watch for kids and adults alike. As a school volunteer, I find the kids love checking out my watch. I also have skin allergies and these bands are AWESOME!

I bought this watch for my niece, she loved it! It was a great find and not very expensive for a child's first watch. The band is not the greatest (attaches with velcro), and the words that help the child tell time are very, very small (even for a child's eyes). However, in spite of these shortcomings I would still recommend the purchase of this watch.
